I just finished the drama and now confused of the ending. someone explain to me. If Ji Ling went to the past 50…
As for the ending, the Ji Ling you see is the Ji Ling who time-travels, and LWY is most likely the LWY who was taken away... again, we don't know if that's actually the case, cause there's no confirmation with what was shown to us. But that is the simplest explanation
I just finished the drama and now confused of the ending. someone explain to me. If Ji Ling went to the past 50…
We are not shown what happened to Ji Ling of that timeline, but he most likely died.
Another explanation could be that since WSG just appears in the new timeline. Since Ji Ling, at the end of the drama, basically has all the pedals signifying he has full dragon deity power. He could be like WSG just appear in the new timeline and Ji Ling of that timeline simply didnt exist like how there isnt another WSG
For those that know Chinese history a little bit I’m just wondering whether it’s a coincidence or meant to…
Tang sect is basically a trope, it been use in wuxia as a sect that specialize in poison and hidden weapon.... I dont know who was the first to use it in their novel. but it been use by many others now.
Can you tell me more about it? I believe the actors are amazing, but the ratings and the reviews puts me off to…
Well, it really depends on whether you watch PA or not; a lot of things that are set up in PA, like Chu Qiao's special power, certain characters, and whatnot, are PA-exclusive things.
Which Rebirth didn't have the right to, they, however, got the right for the novel.
Now, the novel is actually a story about how Chu Qiao is reborn into the world she is in. So that was not adapted, but they still largely follow what happens in the novel, event-wise. But a lot of things are moved around, with certain characters in the novel who don't exist in the drama; there are also characters who play more important roles than they actually have in the novel.
So it really depends on what you already watch/know.
Personally, for me, who read the novel Rebirth, it was "ok." I do like Li Ce; I think the actor really nails him compared to the novel counterpart, and Li Yun Rui as Zhuge Yue.
But again, I don't fully blame the people who adapted this part of the novel, because it largely hinged on the fact that you know what happened in the first 2/3 of the novel. They created more tension between Chu Qiao Yan Xue and Zhuge Yue than there actually was. But that's largely a need for the drama to have any kinda of tension.
And that’s why it feels hollow to me, because I know what happened, and they adjusted Zhuge Yue’s character arc, which again was needed for the drama. But he ends up doing things for Chu Qiao out of love, yet he kind of just turns into another Yan Xun, doing things without telling Chu Qiao.
Which is funny to me because, in the novel, when Chu Qiao reflects on what went wrong with Yan Xun at the end of the novel, it was the lack of communication between them. So seeing Zhuge Yue do the same thing in the drama is why I consider his character arc kind of butchered.
I haven't watched the latest few episodes, but there was a time jump. Forgot who was talking, but they mentioned that Gu Jin Zhao is almost done with her 3-year mourning period, so she like 17 or 18 now
In the Drama he was briefly mention at the end he just became king and rule after Li Ce death. If you want to know…
I can see how watching the drama can give that view.
I’ll be frank, both PA and Rebirth did a TERRIBLE job conveying the Ice Lake scene.
In the novel, while reading it, I could feel the raw emotion of Chu Qiao as her world, and everything leading up to that point, was falling apart, largely due to Yan Xun's actions.
Which Rebirth just couldn’t capture, because people who watch Rebirth might still think it’s a love triangle. It’s not. Even this is where PA got it wrong, it was never a love triangle.
There is a clear distinction in the novel. Yan Xun went through hell and back with Chu Qiao, she probably did love him and probably considered him her “first love.” I mean, there’s a scene in the book where Chu Qiao basically told him to “do it.” But then the events of Ice Lake happened, and she became disillusioned with herself. (This is very important.) Because this did not happen between PA and Rebirth, her character sadly stopped growing between PA and Rebirth.
During and after Ice Lake, it was clear who Chu Qiao had feelings for, even though she herself in the novel doesn’t know when she started to have feelings for Zhuge Yue. This passage below is what I mean by her character growth, from the young slave at the start of PA to the person below:
“A long time had passed. Chu Qiao, who was now a wife and a mother, suddenly understood what Yan Xun did back then, as she stood there. In her previous life, she had no kith nor kin. She had not witnessed the people that she loved die in front of her eyes. Hence, she was unable to comprehend what kind of hatred he felt at that point. However, if anyone harmed Zhuge Yue, Yunzhou, or Zhenzhu now, her thirst for revenge would not lose out to Yan Xun.
She was unable to empathize with him back then, as his family was not the people that she loved.
can someone explain what is the identity of the FL? is she secretely powerful pretending to be weak?
She is just gifted in cultivation, having already reached Golden Core 3 times, but because she can't tolerate injustice in the mortal world, she always acts on it. This caused a conflict between her Dao heart and the teachings of the Immortal Sect (which hold that the Immortal Sect shouldn't mess with the mortal world). She has to cultivate it each time to reach it again
All of the above is before the story's event. However, later you see her character arc... She was actually right all along that she shouldn't be internally conflicted, and her view and belief are actually correct, and the immortal sect's teaching that she caused her to have conflict and drop cultivation rank was wrong. (The irony of all of this is that the immortal sect has always had a hand messing in the mortal world)
This is why, in the drama, she gains power very quickly: her Dao heart now reflects her actual beliefs, so she goes from Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul very quickly.
She was also born on 9/9, but as you can see at the end, many people born on 9/9 play a role in saving the world. We also get the crazy Taoist who originally gave the prophecy, who probably delivered the most cringe line in the drama... basically, anyone can be the chosen one if you are willing to stand up for what is right.
what was the purpose of copying the books? even if they had to be copied they could have sent 4 groups out. 2…
So the Library is only open for 10 days in a year, and to enter, you need to offer something valuable. So the Wu Shuang Society's goal is to read memorized and create a new set of copies.
Their goal was to bring back lost craftsmanship and engineering to help mortals be less reliant on the immortal sect.
The immortal sect's reasoning for wanting to stop it was just fear of what the future would be like if mortal people didn't need the immortal sect as much.
The immortal sect didn't actually want to burn the library; that was Sima Ran Deng doing.
So that's just what happened in the drama, but there is an underlying social commentary between the Immortal sect and mortals.
Just replace "Immortality" with wealth or power, and the message would be clearer as a social issue.
Douban is always like that. Many popular dramas have less rating over there. Douban rating doesn’t really matter…
If anyone brings up Douban scores... just tell them to read the reviews of these "verify user", then after reading, look at the scores they give...It hilarious sometime
You will quickly find that, even if it is "Verify user," if you actually read the review, it's pretty much just like an MDL comment section. 😂😂😂
So we should probably assume the original YWH died sometime between those 50 years, and that when he was consume by the original butterfly demon

It is refreshing not to see over-saturated and bright colors that are so common in wuxia dramas these days.
