The plot is vastly different, Xin Mei just reunited with LQQ after 4 year apart due to him became the de facto leader of war demon, until his mom regain her strength. They reunited and live together
With today’s episode potentially revealing how the drama might end, I think it’s best to share this now, especially…
The novel mainly focuses on Lu Qian Qiao and Xin Mei’s relationship, along with his identity as a War Demon. LQQ is going through a transformation tribulation where he gradually loses all five senses, and if he survives it, he becomes a perfect War Demon. In many ways, the plot is basically the reverse of the drama. Cultivation is also not a focus
It’s also funny because Xin Mei is actually the one who falls in love with LQQ first in the novel, and her entire goal is basically to marry him.
One important thing to know is that A Sheng does not exist in the novel. That’s why the reveal in Episode 33 was huge, because her single red eye is very significant. That trait appears in the novel specifically on LQQ when his transformation tribulation is interrupted.
This does not necessarily mean A Sheng is a War Demon in the drama, though she could be, we just don’t know yet. But red eyes are a unique trait associated with War Demons, while a single red eye is something only LQQ possessed in the novel. During this period, LQQ also struggles to control himself and ends up hurting Xin Mei.
Below is just speculation based on the novel, since the drama barely follows it.
IF drama A Sheng is indeed half human and half War Demon, because we still do not know who Xia Xuan Zi had children with, then it almost feels like she is taking on the role that novel LQQ had and ends up hurting Xin Mei.
Since the novel’s final arc heavily revolves around LQQ and his mother, A Sheng could also potentially be filling that role as another War Demon.
With today’s episode potentially revealing how the drama might end, I think it’s best to share this now, especially regarding A Sheng’s possible role in the story.
For those curious about how the novel compares to the drama: they are very different. The novel does have a happy ending, but the drama changes a huge amount of the story. The biggest differences are the overall setup, themes, and the fact that many characters in the drama simply do not exist in the novel.
I’ll put the novel details and speculation under spoilers.
"I didnt get the plot initially and couldn't care less. The story focused too much on one one couple that…
I read what you both talk about, and it shows a lack of understanding of what actually happens in the show 🥰
It's like two blind people trying to help each other read a map... both of you would rather blame the map for not telling you the direction. 🤣
Both of you are confused; maybe you should rewatch the show, as stated before, the show literally answers all your questions!
The funny thing is, most of these points are already addressed in the show and by many people here. But instead of just asking, both of you double down on it!
But even here, your last comment fails to address anything in the comment that you are responding to; you only managed to justify your personal attack 🤣
"I didnt get the plot initially and couldn't care less. The story focused too much on one one couple that…
There is a right or wrong about things that happen in the show 🤣🤣
I literally point it out for you, but I know reading is hard sometimes. It literally shows that he either didn't understand it or didn't actually watch the drama.
But it ok you have lost the plot, as you still have not point out where my criticism of him is inaccurate. I know it's hard to because we literally can check by watching the drama. So stop yapping your personal attack, just show that you were as confused as he was about the drama. As you can't attack anything else
"I didnt get the plot initially and couldn't care less. The story focused too much on one one couple that…
So are we just gonna act like you didn’t insert yourself into this conversation? 🤣
Like I said, “Even you are confused, but instead of asking why you are confused about Li Jie and YWH, you blame it on the drama.”
But sure, keep yapping and making this a personal thing instead of a plot-and-drama thing.
You are literally hiding your lack of understanding of what went on in the show with veiled personal attacks, or should I call it "trolling" in your words.
"I didnt get the plot initially and couldn't care less. The story focused too much on one one couple that…
My view isn't just different, my view is what was shown in the drama 😉.
You might not like the drama, but it doesn't change the fact that his point is inaccurate, as I pointed out. Even you are confused, but instead of asking why you are confused about Li Jie and YWH. You blame it on the drama... When again the drama literally tells you.... You're probably out here thinking that Li Jie in the Star Illusion is a pair of twins....
"I didnt get the plot initially and couldn't care less. The story focused too much on one one couple that…
“Definitely a lack of consistent power dynamics. The foxes are supposed to be these 1000 year spiritual masters, but they’re the weakest in the entire story and show less power than side characters. In moments of climax, I kept thinking, ‘Oh, the older sister will use her power,’ or ‘the younger one will conjure a shield.’”
That’s just wrong.
First of all, throughout the show, even up to the start of the illusion arc with the stone, they are fighting toe to toe with each other, and literally no one is seriously hurt. Also, the “1000 year spiritual master” point is wrong from the start because LWY is only around 50 years old at that point.
Sure, WWY is stronger, but look at who she actually loses to: WSG’s master, who we already know possesses immense power because he the Star Stone. Other than that, she barely fights anyone else until the final arc.
So did you actually watch the drama?
“suddenly at last 7 eps where she gains power.”
The drama literally tells you why she gains power, and it explicitly explains it. Maybe you missed it. So again, did you actually watch the drama?
“Telling the story retrospectively makes me think its a mary sue moment written specially for her which wouldnt be the case if they walked us through first her struggle instead of explaining at the end. Also, she's so powerful at the end but one slash and she gets thrown on ground by the fake li jie and im like?”
For the first part, you’re missing the point of why she’s doing all of that.
As for Yuan Wu Huo hitting her with one slash… again, the drama literally explains why. So once again, did you actually watch the drama?
People will read what they want, but they dont have to read fake bs that you wrote 🤣
I guess Xin Mei was right about A Sheng being a kitty at heart

It's just typical when one can't respond to criticism, go straight to a personal attack.
All I ask is that you actually watch the drama next time, when your literal questions about the drama is literally answered in the drama 🤣

🤭 at least own up to what you say. The fact that we literally have to be defensive when others point out what you say it kinda funny.
