This film is basically the definition of "artsy". Probably unwatchable to some, but unusual (in a good way) in concept and execution. The parallels between the stories of the various Annes make the thing seem more like a cohesive story as a whole and less like a mishmash of oddly-paced scenes, which is how it seemed to me at first. The fact that this is a Korean film performed mostly in English by non-native English speakers adds sort of a subtextual narrative about communication, which is most interesting indeed. I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but it's worth a watch if you're interested in films that have more to do with construction than plot.

I think this drama is sort of underrated. First off I feel like I should say that it has a TERRIBLE title... it really doesn't reflect what the show is about at all. The prevailing themes here are really greed vs. relationships (romantic, filial, and friendship) and bucking an unjust social class system. It's not a melodrama though, it's a straight-up comedy! This is true ensemble drama, which I think is pretty awesome because all of the characters are actually really interesting. There's nothing showstopping about the plot, but between the characterizations and the large number of wacky situational comedy scenes it's worth a watch. The first half of the series is much stronger than the second, but isn't that true of most dramas?

My favorite thing about this film may actually be the reactions of the other audience members when I went to see it... hordes of girls GASPING and WEEPING at all the right moments, not to mention the ahjussi sitting behind me who was belching the entire time.

But in all seriousness, this is a good melodrama. Really strong performances from most most of the cast, and it looks GORGEOUS. The main villain is sort of cartoonish (think Snidely Whiplash) but I think that's OK in a film like this. I enjoyed it. I may even watch it again someday!

Oh man, this movie is so ridiculous. I think the premise and the origin story of the yoga institute founder (which gets revealed in pieces throughout the film) could be sort of interesting, but it's all done in such a hammy way that it's more funny than scary. Most everything that happens in the second half of the film is totally confusing - not to be confused with oblique or mysterious, just sloppy and confusing. What does the confusing ending mean? It means that the writers got lazy!

A reasonably creepy and suspenseful horror flick. Not exactly original, but above-average and lots of fun. If you like stories about idol groups then this may appeal. Another reviewer said this sort of reminded them of Ringu, and I agree that the premise is sort of similar, but this film isn't nearly as scary.
