OMG, the father even said "that damn woman" as if he wasn't responsible for those kids.
Imagine you're trying to abandon your kid and she says "I like you alot daddy" but you still abandon her. Evil daddy.

I really liked the concept of the dancing troupe, horror and tradition combined together. It was beautiful, the cinematography and costumes.

Unfortunately it wasn't good and feels more low budget than anticipated.

Watched this on Tubi, some of the stories were really interesting but needed more explanations.

Lol, he looked out of place as a mall security guard. Maybe costume department should do more to make sure characters fit their roles. That's why I said "casting" not him as a person.

Compared to the evil guy, you could believe that the evil guy was evil, with his mannerisms, smile and behavior.

They were supposed to be super intelligent but didn't figure out the elevator. And I hate that they had to sacrifice the disabled person.

Pretty good though. Some parts are a bit predictable with all the heroes antics but still keeps you guessing. But I do wonder about Korean casting choice though 😂🤣. Ji Chang Wook (my head-shaking), but the nemesis was a good casting.

This is a really deep and powerful exploration of various themes once you get into it and listen to some of the dialogue. Tradition vs modernity, environmental issues, bodily autonomy of women and their place with the past and future. Even though they say she's the caretaker and dog-god she's disrespected all around.
The man that's supposed to be protector and leader of the family is no good. He's abusive to the women who are supposed to be caretakers of the curse. They exist to serve and to be derided by the men and the community.

The police investigators didn't even try to get the truth. They just thought these guys are just repeat offenders and not worth it.

I've really enjoyed the social discourse in this drama about alot of issues that aren't always discussed. Like toxic mothers,who are also abusive.
But I also think in the end they didn't want to talk about.... that one issue since the country has a low birth rate. I think for me that would have shown how serious the drama is about that issue and bodily autonomy of women.Still really interesting though.

So predictable. It was pretty obvious what was happening from the beginning.

You'd burn that many candles in an apocalypse in one night? You'd have that ghd hair too, when all you have to eat is spam😂🤣.

That's how I felt about what this drama was trying to do.

Like why not explain the offerings or the ghost security guard to them. What was the point of the BDSM scenes? Did his wife cheat on him? Why would the ghost/spirit fall in love with him?

I found this movie very similar to Luddaland. There were a few things that weren't clear here though. There were too many things happening, too many storylines that made the second half of the movie stupid. It couldn't decide on one strong plot or focus as it's main story. They just drop a bombshell in the last ten minutes of the movie.
It's watchable but not the best story.

This is a deliberate genre convention of josei manga. To discuss serious subjects like abortion, body autonomy of women and societal expectations you use humor.
Because of this the drama has been trending and many articles have been written about it especially in Japan where there's a low birth rate.

So it's not wasted potential at all. In fact they achieved their goal.
