My theory is, Prince Xian and his followers did poison the emperor but the concubine who visited the emperor during the night also poisoned him by wearing some sort of aromatic perfume....emperor was knocked out by the pillow and royal physician combo but when it happened, second prince and concubine faction send her to introduce the third poison.
Which put him in the coma, crown prince knew this but the situation favours him and hence he is silent about the whole ordeal...I hope its not true cuz elimination of two princes will put ML next in line to throne and now Hua Zi/FL have to rescue him by raising the sixth prince well.

Listen I think you have some sort of confusion here, you should watch that episode again before saying anything else. First her grandmother made it perfectly clear, SHE WAS ALWAYS LIKE THIS and even forced her parents to allow her to marry that wife beater (note Hua was Noble scholar family, while her husband was merchant class, which is far lower than Nobles in class/society).
If mental illness due to beating has to be the cause, then her behaviour will be recent and after the marriage but all the Hua family including grandma confirmed, she was always like this cuz she was spoiled as the elder daughter.
Second your consequences have action, she went against the entire family to marry that man and still her family continued to support her after her marriage, when whole Hua accident happened she refused to help and then tried to take Hua family only source of income...the maid fudong is main cook and without her, entire business will flop and hua family will starve to death.

Nobody is defending "wife beating" here but she suffered the consequences of your action and refuse to ask her family to help her get divorce from wife beater, instead she straight up forced/paid for her brother concubine to be raped and then tried to declare her niece PROSTITUTE.

You mean who paid someone to rape his brother concubine, then forced the victim to stole his niece undergarments, so she can use that to declare her as a prostitute in the capital. Which would have immediately lowered FL status from normal citizen to "untouchable ones" and she would never be able to marry anyone, only be taken as concubine.
Yes beating is a minor offence but "RAPE and falsifying someone as prostitute" is far bigger crime than this....I would even talk about, how she killed her mother but she committed capital offences and punishment for rape is DEATH.

Just check Xu kai latest drama ratings, you will know why and the reasons people mentioned here are stupid cuz drama is doing exactly what synopsis said it would. So, people are either blind or they refuse to read the synopsis before starting anything.
Its a family drama with clear villain "Mother, her narcissist behaviour and lack of ethics/class" with grey characters like FL, who enabled her trash attitude and ML struck between morality and benefits, discovering life due to his interactions with FL. The romance and its pacing is believable and natural for both couples.
