Well you keep saying that he's using grandma's money when in fact he never was and I just clarify that. But the way you keep insisting he use grandma's money is looking like you want to keep putting him under false image.

True, HJP is at fault for not asking grandma's permission & he could be charged for that. But you can't say that he use her money when he never was. It was his money to begin with, that he deposit under her account. He made the investment on his part, he earned the capital gain from buying the stocks he choose to buy from his very own money (even if it was through Grandma's account). You can't say the gain from the stocks was Grandma's money either even if it was under her account when she never did the investment herself.

Legally speaking yes Grandma's the owner of the account, but we all know that those money came from the investment does not belong to her because she never earned it herself. What's belong to grandma is the interest from the saving account, but not the capital gain from the stocks.
You can count it as well how much money belongs to Grandma & how much money belongs to HJP, using the interest percentage of the saving account or bank statement & investment report, which I think exactly what grandma did.

I had nothing personal against you, the way you're bringing NDS was so out of the blue & your point was unclear to me before.

Ehm no, when you buy stocks, you can decide how much money you want to invest, you don't need to put all the money on the account as your investment, the account is just a mere requirement needed to be the source to buy stocks & transferred the income . If his investment fall then he will loose his stocks equal to his money he put for investment but not the money on her account so it's not relevant.

And lol, why do you have to bring Do San in this matter? Just irrelevant. No need to bring down HJP into bad light just so you can put NDS into a good light.
Because if you put it that way, I find Do san is arguably be a good boy when Dal mi is in the context, but I don't want to prolong the conversation as it will have no end.

What? NO! it's nothing like that, you misunderstood it. He NEVER USE grandma's money. He only use her account to put his money (given by the orphanage+his winning competition money) on her account since he's still underage to open his own account.
Then he invested his part (this is quite plenty amount since it's enough for him to rent a place, remember?) to buy the stocks which later got multiplied by alot. The gain was belong to him not grandma. He never take grandma's money. Later, grandma realize this, withdraw all the money, gave her part to Dalmi's father & return what belongs to HJP to HJP.
The money was never grandma's to begin with. HJP feeling guilty & shameful after misunderstood grandma for being greedy and give all his hard earned money to her son (to be fair, the scene was actually really felt like that & easy for people to misunderstood, although he shd hv know grandma's better, but he still a kid with alot of things to learn), so he left.

But he's a good boy, he remember all the good deeds Grandma has given to him and feeling regretful for not being able to help grandma because he wasn't there besides her when she was struggling. If only he didn't misunderstood grandma at that time & forcefully had to leave while swallow his pride like that, I believe he will share his money to grandma as well.

Since I see people being confused on what "debt" Ji Pyeong has for grandma, I think I'll just share my take on that here:

Grandma gave him a shelter to live, she welcome him wholeheartedly & genuinely care for him, an orphan who had no one to depend on (who still bitter & full of thorns after being forced to leave the orphanage). They're practically strangers when they met, but she trusted him & gave him her place to live & even lent him her bank account.
She gave him her warm embrace, like a family he never had.

JP might actually lost everything if Grandma didn't took him in, because his money is even not enough for him to eat if he spent his money to rent a place to live. He can't even afford to buy Grandma's corndog >> I think Grandma noticed this.
Only with Grandma's help, he's able to multiply his money enough for him to live & become what he is right now.

That's why he said that his debt to grandma can't be paid off by money, because she gave him her heart, kindness & trust when he was a nobody.

Actually it's nothing like that, it was never grandma's money, it was Ji Pyeong's own money that he received from the orphanage & from winning competition, it's just he's too underage to open his own account so he put his money on grandma's account then invested his portion on stocks. Later, grandma withdraw it all, gave her part to Dalmi's father & return what's belong to JP to JP.

I agree, but actually we could also choose to see the white lies from grandma are the way for:

NDS to find his business partner & mentor to achieve the goal he's been look forward for so long/dreams

HJP to find his life partner & family

SDM to find her supportive friend, partner & way for proving herself as well achieving her & her dad's dream

So, everyone will find something for themselves. I know it will be still heartbreaking for NDS, but he'll still have his friends & family's support & they will always be there for him. Sometimes we can't win everything in life too.

I know that the story is already good as it is & I actually like that they're not focusing too much on the romance part but also mentor mentee dynamics, friendship, business theme, etc & I find it refreshing.

But I can't get this thing out of my mind, imagine if they could breaking the rules that the main leads have to be ended up together romantically, like, despite Dal Mi thought that the author of those letters is NDS, she fell for the real author which's HJP himself instead, so we know that her feeling is real & the dilemma will be within herself not knowing she fell into the right person (especially with how they kept prolong the lies rn).

So HJP could find that one person who understand the better of him.
And NDS could achieve his goal & become successful with Dal Mi as co-partner & HJP as mentor.
So even if Grand Ma might left them behind (I really hope not!) She already left her legacy & no one will ended up lonely.

I find this drama will be more meaningful that way rather than the usual formula how the main leads shd be ended up together & the SL getting sidelined and serve no purpose other than being a tool for the main leads to get together.

If that was it, how does that relevant to your saying that JP was selfish & conveniently want to reveal the truth because he saw DS-DM closeness? When actually it's the opposite. He's afraid the truth will hurt Dalmi so he won't try to expose the truth on ep 5 if he wasn't being cornered by Dal mi.

The difference between Do San & Ji Pyeong lie is, JP intention is never on his own accord, his priority is Dalmi & Grandma feelings
While I can't say the same thing to Do San.
Earlier Do San insist to keep the lie just so he had the chance to keep meeting Dal Mi, but soon after he's confident that he's able to get Dalmi's feelings he want to back out & reveal the truth, for his own accord.

Idk where do you get the idea that the reason ji pyeong was about to told DM the truth because he saw how close NDS to DM. JP was forced by DM to give her his explanation. And if the closeness you're referring to is the scene where DS hug DM, that scene happens only after DS interrupt DM-JP conversation which exactly counter your point. And I don't see any other scene that describe the closeness between DM-DS that was seen by JP tbh, they're working together & that's all.
And like Naruxsasumi said, if there's one being jelly, it's NDS & basically that's the reason why he try to disclose the secret out.

And what HJP may feel to DM doesn't matter, the plot is now at NDS convenience for DM develop feelings to him, thus I said HJP letters is an advantage for NDS, as simple as that.

Ji Pyung already want to gave up & tell the truth at some point because he think it's almost impossible to keep the lie as Dal Mi will find the truth somehow, but Do San insists to keep the lie as he already smitten by Dal Mi & told him that the secret will be kept between them unless JP told her the truth & the only obstacle would be him being not a hotshot men so they need to work on that.

Also, regardless those letter was the real HJP or not, it doesn't matter, it was written by HJP not NDS, it was HJP thought not NDS, so relying on those letters to get Dal Mi's feeling would still be a fraud.

Can't they ended the whole lie already?
It's so nervewrecking since I find it'll be unfair for HJP if Dal Mi fell for NDS using HJP letter as her base.

From what I've seen when he make a cameo appearance on Coffee friends (reality show) Nam Joo Hyuk was indeed the awkward shy type, so I think yes maybe the writer know his real personality & had him in mind when she wrote his character.
