The cringier and sweeter the scenes are …foreshadow how devastated we will be later. I’m giggling and kicking my feet in bed as I watch, so I know I need to prepare tissues for the next arc.

In the original thread. There was someone saying that kdramas are horrible. I started off my reply trying to give my pov and then went on to describe the differences between the two, including what I liked and disliked given that I like both cdramas and kdramas. It’s okay if you don’t agree or think I don’t make sense, the person I was talking to understood what I said (still kept the same stance though). I just felt like I rarely comment or interact on here, I might as well post it to the main page. Apologies if that was wrong
They are not copying they are adapting and in adaption changes are meant to be
I actually like haejun as a basketball player, it makes the move to the states more sound logically. Juwon as the owner of the cake place also makes so much more sense. With her lack of care for school and her love of sweets.
I posted this in the discussion thread but I thought I’d post this here too.
Given that this is 16episodes vs the original with 40 there was bound to be major differences . I’m a fan of both cdramas and kdramas, I started my journey with k dramas. I personally feel that Korea does a better job with modern setting dramas. While Cdramas tend to excel in historical.
with that being said, this doesn’t meet my expectations as much as I thought it would. The angst is lost and not fully developed. JJ was heartbroken for a long time when they left. It felt really devastating and when they came back her character truly drew the line. I mean that scene where she exploded on them was so well crafted. Here juwon just seems fussy, and she’s already forgiven them, she’s just dragging her feet about it. Unless the future episodes touch more on this, I felt like this arc wasn’t done well. However this remake does a great job of showing the ML’s love for her very early on. There was still a sense of siblings when the confessions were made in Go ahead but here, it was very clearly depicted that Kim San Ha loved her when they were kids.
