Yes, the main character who we're following the entire show - the one whose head we're in, the one whose coming out story this is, the title character of the series - he's queer. His romance not living up to your expectations doesn't make him any less queer.

I'm not blind, I just know what a protagonist is. Shouting down people who actually enjoyed a queer coming of age story isn't doing the work you think it is.

The straight couple are not the main leads and ya'll saying they are again and again won't make it true. Heesu is THE main lead, full stop.

Like I said. Ya'll were expecting a romance and they made a coming of age story. His growth relied on gaining confidence. And yes, he moved on from his crush because his crush was straight. That's a perfectly healthy thing to do. AND it's very rare for high school aged kids in a Korean dramas to kiss, straight or otherwise.

...I didn't say Heesu facilitated anything. I said those events facilitated his arc. And they did.

Heesu had more screentime than any other two characters combined. We were in his head the whole show. Everything that happened - including the straight couple getting together - happened to facilitate Heesu’s arc. Wild to call a coming of age story about a teenage boy trying to navigate his feelings for other boys homophobic.

It felt very progressive to me. Being gay was no big deal, there were virtually no homophobic characters, and the lesbian moms existed? The ages of the characters (and actors) seemed to dictate the level of romance they were actually going to show. And the straight couple seemed to exist entirely as a function of Heesu's growth. If your ML is hung up on someone other than who he ultimately ends up with, you're stuck spending time on him moving past that...

I feel like people wanted a romance and this is a coming of age story. Maybe the manhwa was different - but as a coming of age story, I thought this was lovely.

Very cute. A little paint-by-numbers but charming nonetheless.

This was so good. I wish I had felt a little more invested in the romance but other than that it was nearly perfect. Really fun, really scary, and I loved so many of the characters by the end.

Simply not enough story for 10 episodes. It could have maybe sustained 4. I ended up feeling more invested in the 2nd leads with their 20 minutes of shared screen time than the main “couple”.

People dipped out too early. Episode 6 was beyond fantastic.

wow i expected the ending to be rough but that was even worse than i anticipated it would be. every single female character on this show deserved so so much better.

Beautiful series with beautifully written characters. Their complexities were wonderfully layered and nearly every scene revealed more about who each of these people are. It's sad so many people find delicate character driven stories like this boring.

hmm really? i would say the majority of high school aged characters in kdramas look (or are) his age.

I was expecting less comedy? I think it is too much.

I wasn't expecting this level of comedy... I hope it settles down a bit.
