I didnāt see him imprison any Meng for murder? The punishment is not even proportional to the crime. HQās father did not commit murder. HQ had arranged for her father to lose his position. So ZXW did not need to intervene. It was all water under the bridge for MY.
I actually think ZXW is the selfish one. We know the reason he wanted the confession to happen. Murder is worse than framing someone. He has punished the Meng family by minimizing their power. Which is what HQ had effectively done by getting the father to step down sell everything and move. She also made sure she did right by MY which in her mind was the single biggest thing that caused all their deaths. Honestly after watching your whole family die so traumatic so of course given a second chance you will solely focus on keeping them alive.

I personally like dramas like this. There are so many dramas out there that just focus on an FL & ML together, we always see it. I know people always complain about it, same comments came up on LLTG and GWTR, the FLs had other love interests before the ML just like what happens in real life, you don't always just find the one . I think they always act so well too, because even though there are not together a lot you can always feel the chemistry when they are with the ML.
