It is a dramatic, yes FL is a flawed character and so are all the characters. ML should have actually directly told Hua Hua its not for her, FL is just trying to do the best she can with the information she is given. She has been told by Hua Hua that they are in a relationship. The fact that in theatre conversation he said Hua Hua will bring lunch or something and I know you will be the one cooking it is messed up. He actually also forced that kiss none of the characters are perfect. And yes we know who the male lead character is, so viewers excuse kisses like that, we are expecting FL to accept him even though it will be similar to the situation she is in of accepting all the other characters that do nice stuff for her in return for a relationship, and we also expect FL to know all the information we know about Hua Hua yet she just sees a really good friend with good intent. Most would believe their friend over a boy. Hua Hua does tell FL much later that Wei Wei likes Ye Hui, that's after she is already in a relationship with SML. That's after Hua Hua , had spent the bulk of the time pushing her towards SML for her own benefit. In the beginning ML as well didn't directly tell Hua Hua yet he knew she might think that way, he should have said what he said to the journalist friend to her too. He should've shut that down directly. The whole drama is a mess, all the characters are a mess.

The doubt came when she asked him point blank in the theatre, ML actually says the earrings are for Hua Hua. She had promised Hua Hua she would not ask the professor for help or do stuff with him . She actually doesn't know Wei Wei likes Ye Hui. She is not that close to Wei Wei, they haven't had a conversation about Ye Hui. All Wei does is bitch behind her back with Hua Hua.

FL slapped ML because she thought he was dating Hua Hua. That's what Hua Hua had told her and previous interactions ML had with Hua Hua looked like they could be dating (like seeing them on the sofa together) and the earring thing wasn't cleared up. So makes sense to slap someone who might want to cheat on your friend with you.

Totally agree with you. This series does show real stuff that happens to some women, it's no fairytale, some women get taken advantage and get sucked into things they didn't want to. I really don't mind what FL does at this point, as long as she is in charge of that decision instead of some pervert or bad friend lol. Hua Hua has been such a bad friend, loathed her when she promised to go with LWJ to that bar with that pervert boss, she didn't show up, instead she called Ye Hui to play hero. How can you set up your friend like that, what if she had been raped.

They were not dating that episode. He would sometimes say they were dating to help her get out of sticky situations. She even told him to stop coming to the hospital otherwise the mom would think they are dating. Even when she accidentally started working for his company she said I would not date you and even threatened to quit. Her expressions do not show someone who started dating for money. What I picked up is they were genuinely having fun in each others company. And Professor might have said he liked her but didn't say I am not dating Hua Hua when she thought he was. I haven't commented on what happens later in the synopsis because hasn't;t aired to see how that came about. But it does say it is about her insecurities, is how it started while dating him.

I think you are forgetting in her mind, the Professor and Hua Hua were dating. That's what Hua Hua told her. She is within her right to date other people and yes she can sleep with them to, doesn't make her a bitch, this is what happens in real life you do not have a script telling you who your Mr Right is. Some people are lucky they are with one person their whole lives others date a few or a lot (lol) of guys before and yes even sleep with them before they get settled. He is her boyfriend who happens to be rich - that was not gold digging. she refused to date Ye Hui for a very long time like from about episode 15/16 when they met, they only got together ep 30 properly. From facial expressions from the first night they had together, what I picked up was she had warmed up to him it wasn't about the money. To be honest Professor annoyed me in the beginning he didn't make it clear with Hua Hua and if she just started dating him that would be wrong from the point of view that he is with Hua Hua. Professor destroyed his own heart by playing all those mind games in the beginning - especially at the earrings question that could have cleared things up. There are also 42 episodes and the majority of those episodes she has been hardworking and always trying to do her best to help her friends and family, even clients from being conned. I haven't watched how the Professor and Ye Hui downfall happens, but for now I can sympathize with her and do not see her as a b*tch at all. This is a modern c-drama, its pretty normal for people to sleep with other people in real life. Hua Hua was sleeping with someone in the beginning of the drama, they will not end up together at end and that didn't make her b*tch.. And who is to say Professor didn’t sleep with his ex in America. I think it terms of script writing they could have given ML someone to date during this period, so people went easier on the FL.

I agree best to bing watch this one and skip boring parts. I think its always hard as a viewer in general to see FL or ML with someone who we know they will not end up with, because we already know who they are supposed to be with. , I also skip some Wei parts in the drama. I don't even know what her purpose is in the story? especially her business parts lol...

I have to watch the episodes to see how it unfolds. If she is bad in the few episodes out of 42episodes I am ok with that. I don't think she would purposefully put ML in jail. But we will see.

You are probably right. Something big for a wake up call

I think her appeal is she is beautiful hence the title of the drama and she is innocent and kind. She is also hardworking, she went all the way to Kenya to pay back the guy and pay her mother's expenses. She is always trying some business venture, too bad it doesn't work out but she tries. She also set her pride aside earlier on and worked as a maid and went to college, to get in she had to work extra hard because she hadn't done some grades or something, if my understanding was correct. I am looking forward to her breaking up Ye Hui , and get back to her original self, with some added character growth. She needs to be able to spot bad people and friends and run lol.

Although this drama was frustrating at times, I actually enjoyed it. Great acting! At times unpredictable, because anyone could die at any time. Wish it had more episodes in between, so episode to episode it made more sense.

If you read the synopsis it wasn't going to be a drama about a strong career woman.

I really don't think the FL is as bad as you say. There is like an unwritten friends code, if your friend says they like the person first its kind of a, no go area especially the ages they are acting. Friends are 'supposed' to be for life and you never know if you will break up with person and put you friendship at risk for that. Even the guy who likes Hua Hua was upset when he thought ML liked Hua Hua. In my own opinion and we are entitled to different opinions she is not 100x as bad as her sister-in-law who tried to set her up to lower her rent. Or Mei wanting to set up for her own business benefit and Hua Hua, not confessing about the bag and lying about how great the date was with the professor among other things. I also think part of her actually warmed up to Ye Hui, it was cute when they were washing the clothes together. Shame Ye Hui is actually not a really nice boyfriend. I think her change of behavior is also just tiredness of pushing so hard. One can get deflated with so many outside pressure and lose your way. Maybe this can be an alternative world where Xu Kai Cheng isn't so creepy like he was in Well Intended Love, a bit of payback lol...

Annoyed they cut the reconciliation converstaion between Fu Rou and Chumu. Would have loved to see them iron out all the misunderstandings.

I would say he really chased her and she is young and she lost her way and looking forward to her finding her way back.. That is what the story is about, I guess I went in expecting character growth from the synopsis. it's understandable for someone to lose their way, not everyone is a strong minded girl from the village who moves to the city with no character flaws. This is her story of starting of strong and hits road blocks, makes the wrong decisions, how you can become a person you thought you wouldn't be and growth after. I actually do not dislike her right now because that is the story, I didn't expect her to be strong minded throughout the story, as that's not what they described in the synopsis. I think if you watch it expecting her to be a flawed character you will not be upset with her. I was prepared lol...

They get together episode 30. In previous episodes Ye Hui is chasing her, and is there for her when she needs 'saving". She does reject him. He is really there for her when her mum gets sick. To me it's a natural progression, they are together, since he ends up being there when she is in need. I also understand her not wanting to hurt her friends feelings in regards to Tian Ming, it's kind of a friendship code. She was her first girlfriend when she moved to the city. LWJ also didn't tell anyone it was Hua Hua who had changed the bag so she is protective of this friendship. I am guessing she is still between 19 and 23 years old, at the age you still young to be like f-that I need to think of my happiness , friendships still matter. And ML doesn't make it really clear in the beginning that he likes her and doesn't correct misunderstanding about his feelings for the friend.

I am on episode 22, and she likes Tian Ming, but her friend Hua Hua likes him too. So she seems to be stepping away from him, to not hurt Hua Hua's feelings. Hua Hua has kind of made clear his hers. So far she is not materialistic, she is hardworking. She initially doesn't want to date Ye Hui. I don't know how they hook up yet. The synopsis does say she starts to lose her way when she start dating Ye Hui.
