2. Her adorable additional quick peck of affirmation before leaping out of his lap when Shangque interrupts their kiss. (Episode 26) Rewind. Rewatch. Rewind. Rewatch.
3. Changheng: “Dongfang QingCang, where are you escaping to?” Dongfang Qingcang: “Escaping? I just don’t want to destroy her Arbiter Hall.” (Episode 9) Being simultaneously unyieldingly bellicose and a considerate sweetheart. It’s a talent. Dongfang QingCang has it. You do not.
4. That Dongfang Qingcang dismounts Shangque’s forehead at Wind Plain carrying Xiao La Hua bridal style. (Episode 10) Blink and you miss it.
5. “Jeili, said you want to be alone. I can accompany you.” (Episode 26) I have seen people crediting Jieli with this moment. Please give credit where credit is due. Dongfang Qingcang already knew this and already did this for her. Xiao La Xua: “Daqiang, I’m fine. You don’t have to accompany me.” Dongfang QingCag: “Don’t try to lie to me. I know you want to cry…Don’t force yourself to be strong. I can feel your thoughts and feelings. You don’t have to bear them in front of me.” (Episode 8) What Jeili did do is explain the principle behind why this worked, how to apply it to other situations and then give more specific examples. And Dongfang QingCang’s EQ did go through the roof from that one tiny tutorial from Jieli. (Episode 24) He now notices everything Orchid says she doesn’t want and gives it to her. However, that specific one folks, that one he already had down.
6. The look they share during the sunrise ride on Shangque on the way to the Wind Plain. (Episode 10) Everything had just changed. Their identities. Their circumstances. Their positions in their respective worlds. Their hierarchy to each other. One tiny forever encapsulated in that moment. You’re still you. I’m still me. You’re still here. I’m still here. You did not betray me. I did not forsake you.
7. Dongfang QingCang received one wound via the Heart Curse that he didn’t heal. The one he caused. Look at his wrist when he grabs her when she goes to get his medicine after the doctor leaves, post lightning strike scene. (Episode 18) It is the same cut from when Orchid saved Jieli from execution. (Episode 16) It is still red and untreated. The fact that he didn't stop the axe in time (Episode 16) echoes his guilt/anxiety over whether he could get to her in time in Thousand Dreamland and Rong Hao's warning that "A moment is enough." (Episode 15) It's why he grabbed her in the snow and was yelling at her. She is talking about promises to help his Love Tree and he is just in anguish that she does not seem to comprehend her vulnerability. It is fear masquerading as anger. He kept that cut as a reminder of Rong Hao's words and how painfully accessible they actually are, even from him.
8. At the Mountain and Moon Festival, someone who shall remain nameless (Dongfang Qingcang) was not finished with that kiss and wanted more. (Episode 28)
9. I love that they were looking for different things. She wanted the most beautiful locks. He wanted the hardest and strongest. They choose the same ones. They had different values. Different goals. Different agendas. And fulfilled them by unifying. Such a representation of everything they are. (Episode 27)
10. Him stroking her hand with his thumb, while he warms her up using his hellfire on the boat ride across Memory Loss River. (Episode 9)
11. Everything Xiao La Hua complains about when Dongfang QingCang abandons her in the Arbiter Hall that is not Arbiter Hall is something she misses about him. (Episode 10) “It’s so cold that I can’t sleep (eternal fire from the magma of Cangyan Sea, Episode 5). There’s no sun (sun-bathing together, Episode 5) and no one to talk to (her ambitions, her crush, the dynamics of their friendship, her being bullied by Fairy Danyin, Episode 6, The Pros vs Cons of emotions, her insecurities and doubts in him, his intentions and presence in her life, her disappointments and principles, how she is coming to value him, philosophical debates over whether the ends justify the means Episode 7, just plain being excited to share what happened to her that day with someone, her feelings of loneliness and starting to believe in him, Episode 8). She does not want to taste bitterness anymore, after sweetness. (Episode 7)

13. The breath work in the 2nd smile tutorial. (Episode 21) Can we please take a moment to appreciate Wang Bao Shun (Dongfang Qingcang’s voice actor). So Wang Hedi is brilliant. I loved him in this scene. Dongfang Qingcang looked so homesick for her when she held his lips into a smile and asked him "Do you remember?" It was perfect. It did not need anything else. But the breath work of Wang Bao Shun gave us such beautiful layered dimensions. That their connection was still there. The relief and gratitude that he was no longer alone, that she was still accompanying him. The sheer vulnerability. From how he was breathing! There were several scenes where Wang Bao Shun’s contributions absolutely MADE the scene perfect. This partnership really played well off of each other and I hope they get a chance to work together in the future.
14. Dongfang Qingcang never getting into bed with Xiao Lan Hua (jumping her bones to try to activate a body swap doesn’t count) and honoring a custom (Rituals of Shuiyuntian demand that a female body and male body sleep separately, Episode 3) he doesn’t fully understand, by sitting on the floor beside the bed - even when they are body swapped.
15. The quick eye conversation they have after getting out of the wardrobe. (Episode 22)
16. The first person people saw stand on Dongfang Qingcang’s direct right was Xiao La Hua (Episode 12) and the first person he actually ever allowed to stand on his direct right was Xiao La Hua (Episode 18).

Dongfang Qingcang indirectly admitting he is lying to Xiao La Hua and that he needs to carry out this lie, but after this he will not lie to her, by saying “Since you’re so worried I promise you I won’t lie to you again.'' (Episode 20) It's a delicate situation. He can’t outright admit he is lying to her, because that would beg the question what is he lying about. He does not want to admit he is there for Chidi to unseal the 100,000 soldiers, because he does not think she will understand and he is still grappling to find a foothold of where they stand with each other after the cave (Episode 19). And while it does not cross the Rubicon she drew in the sand for them to become enemies, by attacking Shuiyuntian and killing fairies, (it is only a potential step in that direction) so he feels confident that he is not betraying her - he feels very disquieted and unsettled not being open with her. He is also aware she is keeping Chang Heng’s hardship experience from him. Again this is not technically a betrayal, but he is aware they are both walking a tenuous line. He also indirectly calls out that she is lying to him “But you don’t lie to me again.” And then he ASKS her if they could have mutual trust moving forward, after these respective lies. (Episode 20)
18. She hung the miniature Bone Orchid charm of his soul off of the Phoenix Crown she made (i.e. for their marriage). (Episode 36)
19. Before Xiao La Hua used Bone Orchid to distract Dongfang Qingcang in order to protect Chidi, she considered using the Heart-Hiding Hairpin. She does this because she does actually consider Bone Orchid priceless in her heart (she wasn’t lying when she said that). The only reason she doesn’t go through with it was if Dongfang Qingcang could read her thoughts at that moment he would know that Chang Heng was undergoing a hardship experience and she was worried Dongfang Qingcang would kill him. (Episode 20)
20. Xiao La Hua waited for him for 500 years at home. Remember she doesn’t hesitate when he calls Cangyan Sea home in Episode 26. In the finale scene, we see them in Arbiter Hall’s greenhouse. There are 3 real, corporeal versions of Arbiter Hall (not counting the 500 year marriage he conjured or Thousand Dreamland in Haishi City) within the Three Realms (not including the one Siming and her Dragon lover are in). Shuiyutian, Cangyan Sea and Xilun Tribe (Sorry, Mortal Realm!) There are no mountains and gardens beyond the greenhouse, (Episode 33) so it is not the Xilun Tribe Arbiter Hall. And between Shuiyutian Arbiter Hall and Cangyan Sea Arbiter Hall only one gets such exceptional light (because Dongfang Qingcang designed it that way, Episode 10)

Then within 2 minutes we establish he is a Fallen Immortal and his love interest is a goddess who is doomed to be reincarnated over and over. Oh, XLN & DFQC will I ever get over you?

Predications: I know what is going to happen. I am not entirely certain how it is going to happen. There are disparate threads. At the moment I am not feeling confident and am disappointed in the writer. However, they instilled a lot of faith in me earlier. I will give it a go. They may pull off something I am not anticipating or do it in an unprecedented way.
Otherwise, I will just pretend that the show followed the normal trajectory and 31 was the last episode.
