I adore that despite the heavy topic, despite the awkwardness that they are having the conversation while body-swapped - the conversation itself isn't awkward.
Only these two could pull that off. They are always so honest with each other and bring up problems and insecurities as they surface, not burying them and causing misunderstandings.

Bone Orchid/Chidi Solution Round Up (and Vote if You Want To)
Here are all the solutions I have seen people mention thus far. Please include any I have missed.
1. Tries to get XLN to fall out of love with him. 2. Trusts the Cave God. 3. Kills her with the Chengying Sword. 4. Kills himself with the Chengying Sword. 5. Kills himself in her body with the Chengying Sword. 6. Kills himself in her body (no Chengying Sword involved) 7. Activates her Xi Lun powers to purify the Evil Spirit 8. Spirit Vanishing Arrows + Nine Mysterious Potion 9. Wuxian Clan Purifying Pill 10. Some really weird pact with Chidi
So, something I didn't realize was that the Heart Curse is attached to their souls, not their bodies.
We see XLN in DFQC's body pulling his hair and DFQC in XLN's body head bopping in response.
This is actually super intriguing, because it means (provided XLN has some time to learn how to use DFQC's powers) they would actually be safer body-swapped. Because then DFQC's body would need to be injured to injure XLN's body - which is an infinitely safer set-up then how they currently live on a day-to-day basis.
This also means because the Heart Curse is one-way, if DFQC were to die while they were body-swapped (so he is in her body) she would survive and not only that, would survive in his body - which is literally the safest place in all Three Realms. This might be a weird way to potentially pull off an homage to the mind-meld thing from the novel, but it is more a stray thought than a "I think they will do this".
Things hit different when you watch it the second time.
They do. Why do I feel I could rewatch this show several times and rather than getting diminishing returns - more then likely I will be pulled deeper and deeper.
Episode 2 Rewatch DFQC: "Weren't you quite arrogant just now?" - decides to choke her to death because of this - Me: Oh, Sweetie - give it 8 more episodes. You'll like it. You will literally correct her, that that is how she is supposed to treat you and ask her to continue to do so. All while trying to coax her out from under a comforter.
Mortal Realm flashbacks: DFQC packing munchies for the kids, XLN picking them up from school and lots and lots…
The clown make-up was great. I can just image their daughter getting to courting age and DFQC wanting to roast anyone who wants to press suit. XLN will frown at this and DFQC will have to get up to creative shenanigans like this to deter their attentions.
