She will be better, but She has a few screen time, this is about the journey of MLβ¦ so donβt mind FL
Got it--who's the lady saint? Maybe I haven't gotten to her yet. By princess do you mean the Princess Royal? And the FL has already improved a bit, in my opinion. The FL just felt a bit wallflower-y at the beginning but she's already a bit better. I'm not necessarily needing the romance, I just like strong characters who aren't limpid and merely plot devices. Thanks for the tip on who to look for, though!

Yes, it does give old-school Kdrama vibes! And this one is also leaning into a makjang feel but doesn't have the cheesy, set-like filming that the weekenders have or over-the-top, larger-than-life, outrageously unrealistic plots that the makjangs tend to have.π It lands somewhere in the middle (cause the plot is still unrealistic; The K2 level of unrealistic π ).
I kinda miss the Kdrama era of the 2016s-2020s. :( There have of course been some good ones since then but they are more hit and miss!
I've been getting into costume Cdramas more and more, too, but it's hard to find ones with happy endings. π₯Ί And after 50 episodes of investment, I don't want to see my leads die or end up apart... π
So far, just one kiss after he treats her like shit for 3 years.
I'm starting to realize he treated her like that so that she wouldn't get close to him and vice versa. He wanted to let her go when he could free himself from his family (I think), and until that time he didn't want them getting attached to each other so they could part ways when the time came without getting entangled.
It's obviously not a logical thing to do, but it works in this makjang-esque plot cause everything is larger than life and wouldn't happen in the real world. π
Awful stupid ending haunts me still years laterπ , probably that's why the low rating.Otherwise this is peak…
Oh my!! What a train wreck. Seems like one of the few dramas where the ML and 2ML get tangled up as to who the actual ML is. It's weird for MDL to have the original 2ML listed next to the FL like he's the actual ML. Phew, I think I'll steer clear! π
There is no incest here tho, male lead is not the real brother for FL
Um, MAYBE in a makjang/soapy drama between support characters, but never between the leads. I don't think there's any spoiler here, cause anyone who's seen Kdramas would know that would never happen (except maybe if it was original to Netflix, haha), and for those new to Kdramas, it will help give them a idea of the tropes they will never come across; the sordid plot point will always be explained away. π
They actually changed who the ML was halfway through production when they got an extension on episodes and the…
Wait, the ML (Emperor, who she's married to) was supposed to be a villain and the 2ML was supposed to be her love interest? But they decided to switch it and kept the Emperor as her love interest?
