Very cute! I was squealing at many moments in the show. There were some moments that dragged a bit, but overall, it felt very real until the end with the tongue-in-cheek ending. I honestly feel bad for Aoey as a character, as I feel like he was underutilized and thrown away. Like they decided to make him the "antagonist," but he doesn't feel like one. I feel more sorry for him than angry.
Just finish this series, great watch, the only thing wrong was Aoey got away without any consequences for his…
I think he was punished enough in that he didn't get a happy ending. Sure, he had his fans, but he was all alone. His manager had left, the one person that was interested in him just got a new series (which means he is in a shipping pair), he's living in guilt over almost ruining the life of the one person he cares about the most who is now with his SO, and it only seemed like there was talk a of a new series with him and Sib, but maybe it's not set in stone yet. So he doesn't have any projects lined up. Seems pretty fitting for his actions.
Moody's Cell. Not really that accurate. I never drop a series no matter how much I don't like it. I'm pretty stubborn about the hope that the ending might turn things around. My ptw is getting longer by the day, and I will watch something not even on it if it catches my interest in the moment, so that's true. I don't really rant about tropes I don't like, if any, because there are some series that have tropes I don't like, but are still one of my favorites. So I rarely complain about that. Also, it's not that I don't know what my taste is, but it's hard for me to describe because I know it when I see it. I definitely have a type, so to say.
There is a lot of charm about this drama, and I can see why it might be considered a classic. The ML's behavior is problematic at times, but I think the show knows this and addresses it during moments woven into the story. They don't say anything directly, (except one time from a side character) but there is a noticeable change in him as the story goes. This series also subverted my expectations on how the supernatural elements would be handled, and I enjoyed the times they switched bodies. The pacing was a bit slower than what I am used to, but I got used to it after some episodes. I was completely surprised by Hyun Bin's acting and didn't know he had such a huge range! I've only seen him in Crash Landing On You, and his character is really stoic in that series. Not saying he was emotionless, but in Secret Garden, he was so expressive and cute at times! Also, I don't know if people forget about him when they talk about this topic, or don't know he exists, but the character of Han Tae Sun is so important! He's such a good dynamic character and should be on any list that talks about LGBT representation. Totally recommend a watch if you are in the mood for some nostalgia!
The story is pretty good and the two leads have good chemistry. The friendships are the best part though! I loved the trio of Jihyun, Aeri, and Joonpyo. They are so much fun. Yoonwon is also a great character and I loved her song and how she was a great senior for the club. The biggest downfall of this series is the editing and some of the camera work. It's so choppy in some parts that it's easy to get a bit confused on what's happening in the story. There's also events that happen that feel like they aren't really happening, so it's a bit jarring when the story continues from there and you realize it wasn't a dream. Another great aspect of this drama is the OST. There was one song I was actually so focused on I forgot I was watching a drama and had to go back.
There isn't much that I want to say that is different than what other people are saying about this drama, except for the character Jo Deuk Chan played by Yun Ji On. I actually pegged him as the murderer probably around episode 10, but I was pleasantly surprised at the truth of what happened and the reason. I figured it out just before the reveal in the same episode, and I thought it was handled brilliantly by the actors. Yun Ji On does a fantastic job conveying the trauma of being gay in a conservative society, and how such a person would react if their biggest secret was revealed to the one person whose thoughts they care about the most. And then when everything is revealed, Do Ha still treats him with decency as a human and friend. While he still did the crime, he's not made out as some villain. Of course, I don't think they will stay friends for multiple reasons, but I imagine Do Ha would still visit him every so often. He's the most complex character in the drama and I wish we got more of him.
One of the best bromances in any kdrama! It's what kept me going, besides the second lead couple. Lee Dong Wook is just phenomenal in whatever he's in. Him and In Na are so great together. They are also the main couple in Touch Your Heart, which I recommend after this if you haven't seen it.
I haven't seen the drama yet, so I'll definitely check it out when it hits netflix, if not before. I have read the manhwa and HIGHLY recommend it for anyone!
I love it so much! Made me laugh so hard at times, and also coo at their romantic moments. One thing that puts it at a 10 for me is that there is no unnecessary breakup at the end. I can't express how much I needed that.
As I was watching his performance in "When it rains, it pours" and all I could think of was that he would be the perfect live action Mafuyu Satō from Given! His look is perfect!
I'm so sad to hear this news. I really loved her character in Bloodhounds. I hope she has found peace and I'm so sorry for the loss to her friends and family.
Loyal and noble. He will always be with you through thick and thin!
Alright! Love that!
