By background you mean family background of their characters?
Hill: I'm not sure what his parents' job is exactly, but the family moves around often because of it (I read somewhere that his dad was a police officer?). His grandfather is quite strict with him and wants him to study and later take over the family business.
Johan: His parents both work in business and are super wealthy. I suppose his family is the wealthiest out of the four. He starts working in his family's business from a young age (because of North) and dedicates a lot of time and energy to it. He mainly studies medicine because his mom asked him to. Doesn't have any major passion towards the subject.
He's often tired because of his work commitments + gruelling med school schedule.
Tonfah: Both his parents are successful doctors, he follows in their footsteps. Out of the 4, he's the most passionate about medicine and is the only with with solid plans to actually become a doctor after graduation.
Arthit: His father owns a successful car dealership business and organizes races as well. I'd say he's the second richest after Johan. But he doesn't work in his father's business like Johan does (and has no desire to), so he doesn't have any money of his own. He receives a sizeable monthly allowance from his dad which he spends quickly.
He's only studying medicine because when his mother was dying of cancer, he promised that he would become a doctor to help cure her. She eventually passed away, but he wanted to make good on his promise even though he hates medicine. His true passion lies in music.

I do agree that Western therapy approaches don't really account for cultural differences. However, that's why I think it's even more important for individuals to seek therapy from licensed professionals in their own countries/cultures who can understand context.
Like for most Asian kids, the 'cut off your toxic family' approach just doesn't work. The context of family and what's considered toxic is very different here than it is in the West. But the right therapist will still be invaluable for you.

Fourever You novels have two spin-offs - TigerNao and JayDan. You know TigerNao of course, Dan is Nao's younger brother. I think Nao mentions him in the pilot for the TigerNao story.
Fah appears in the JayDan novel as a psychiatrist. As you'd expect, he's a very kind and understanding doctor :)

1. Hill didn't know Phoon was sending the letters because Fah had no idea in the beginning and Ter didn't tell him (due to the promise he made to Phoon). Fah told him as soon as he discovered that Phoon was the one writing to him.
2 - Fah doesn't like a stranger, he likes Phoon. What Fah likes about the person who wrote the letters - selfless love, always wishing the best for him without expecting anything in return - that's ALL Phoon's personality. Once he discovers that it's Phoon writing, he starts to notice all those qualities in Phoon and falls in love with him.

If they're being this vague with the timeline, can't even imagine how they'll handle TigerNao's story that takes place in the span of nearly a decade.
I think all this comes from catering to the book's fans too much. After the screentime backlash for Season 1, the production team asked the author to come on board as an advisor/consultant. Unfortunately, that has resulted in the show being created for the book's fans instead of trying to hook the general audience.

Yeah, Oat is doing a great job with all of Dao's micro-expressions. Those who have read the novel can understand why he's reacting to certain things in a certain way, but for those who haven't, it'll still be a surprise!
It'll be fun to see him in his full 'AI Robot' state because he's only smiley and somewhat talkative with his friends.
