Well if you notice in ep.1 when lusi is a phoenix queen her voice is much more mature, then when she is a ghost lady her voice is softer, then right now she is a newborn baby water beast, so yeah her voice should be a little childish. Her voice will change again later depends on her characters. This is what Voice Director wanted her to do

About the hairstyles.. some actors’ facial features are indeed not suitable in costume dramas. For example: the hairstyle of cheng yi is more suitable in costume drama rather than modern drama, lin yi is more suitable in modern drama than costume. Xiao zhan he looks way more handsome in modern drama than costume drama. And many actors or actresses face similar situations including zhao lusi… even lusi, some costume hairstyles don’t suit her at all.
