Quirky
Surprised the hell out of me, weird in a fun way. I liked My Wife is a Gangster 3 and this gem of a vignette kept me entertained and seriously smiling. The cast, all 4 of them, were perfect for story. My favorite is the landlord, mother of clueless boy but, the butcher came in a close second and then there were the leads that had their character down to a “T”. My husband got caught up in the story when he thought I was watching anime, which at 5 AM is not uncommon for me. If you are in the mood for a funny, off the wall, horror comedy with a spot of romance I highly recommend that you put this on your watch list. Was this review helpful to you?
I Liked It
Why - It kept my interest despite what I was currently watching - just finished in 4 days “Time Flies and You Are Here”, rewatching “Ni Chang” and “The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion”, dropped “ I Am the Years You Are the Stars” after 24 episodes, closing in on the last four episodes of Boss & Me”, finished “Dating in the Kitchen”, started “Eternal Love” and “A Business Proposal”. I was sick so the TV held me captive without bail. I kept coming back to take chunks out of the series. The Plot - a bit convoluted because you were getting glimpses of what happened 2 to 3 generations in the past that led to the current situation, the vengeful spirit, a curse that may not be real curse, the mystery of why the FL characters look alike, murder, almost murder, run away bride, stand in fiancée, and the plain bad luck of the first born sons. The key, for me
, was paying attention to see that the plot holes were by-products of the less than seamless connecting of past and present.
The Romance - more drama than romance but still love stories abound.
The Actors - liked them, found the portrayals believable. I thought that Yang Jin Sung did a great job in separating her characters so they was never any mix up of who she was playing even when you had the amoral “twin” pretending to the nice twin who was pretending to be the other “twin”. My favorite character was Kang Joo’s aunt played by Kim Young Ok. I laughed and was touched at the same time.
Recommendation - definitely for those that like suspenseful romances that tease out the what is happening, when are we talking about, and the big WHY.
A note - I don’t normally write reviews because I really suck at it and I ramble. As I write this I am still under the weather, so forgive the poor quality of my writing. I just wanted to share that I enjoyed watching this series.
Question - why does MDL only have the episode count at 16 when there are 20 episodes when watching on Viki?

It’s Not Legend of Yun Xi!
First, I watched the Legend of Yun Xi within the last 2 months and at the start of the first episode I thought that I had selected Yun Xi by mistake. I didn’t, it wasn’t and I knew before the end of the episode. I also knew that I needed to settle in, pay attention, and enjoy what was coming. The actors that were also in Yun Xi had very different characters in Ruyi Pavilion which were play so well I had no problems with confusing their parts. Ju Jing Yi’s and Zheng Zhe Han’s characters were wonderfully played with a depth they had not achieved in Yun Xi. Kudos to them. Additionally, the supporting cast came together to present a cohesive meld of characters that enjoyable and emotional.
I loved the story line and I am horrible at reviews. I do recommend that those who like playful romance, historical back drop, a mystry, drama, laughter and sadness ; take the time to watch this.
