there's literally no point comparing the show and the webtoon. they cover two completely different stories from…
The drama is literally based on the webtoon, there wouldn't be a drama without the webtoon. It's an adaptation even if it's not entirely faithful it's faithful enough that the stories still convey the same essence but the changes in detail make it different enough to be something else This is Gray's origin story, I read the webtoon, I know and I like that they gave it respect and creatively that they made it first as the first season is really nice, I liked it ☺️ I have things I like and didn’t like and as I said there's Webtoon Gray and Drama Gray but one is still based on the other You seem to prefer the drama more, ok then I like both
This is pretty much Gray's (Si Eun) origin story. An adaptation but not a faithful adaptation to the webtoon at all, the similarities are Gray fighting dirty and friendship (I'm not going into all the similarities in detail or lack thereof) Ji Hoon looks like he's just existing like he's done with life whereas Gray looks monotone. His acting was great and I enjoyed it but in a way I'm not really thinking of this as the webtoon anymore. I was excited too because he was starring in it and for a live adaptation of a webtoon I adore so much. The trailer was an obvious telltale it wasn't going to meet expectation and it did take me until now to build up the ability to watch it but the drama was surprisingly still intriguing and faithful enough. The fighting scenes were really entertaining to watch and didn't seem choreographed and forced. I liked this drama and I'm waiting for season 2. At least they didn't butcher it like Sweet Home and held the same respect that was given to Yumi's Cells. I'm just going to think of this as being Drama Gray and there being Webtoon Gray. Contradictory, I know
After episode one, is it just me or does Hyun Joong look worn out or just completely tired at times? Please be okay... As far as the drama I'm not a huge fan of the female lead but I don't completely dislike her. The concept of stopping time is already interesting enough although the story is a bit cliche. I want to know more about Hyun Joong's character though, we don't know much yet and he could be really interesting if given the proper backstory and I like his portrayal so far. His OST is my favorite and the sound of his voice is beautiful
I've really fallen for him since his role as Night in "Red Wine In The Dark Night". He's become my favorite Thai actor and I really hope for his success and am looking forward to any movie he might star in.
