This is the only drama I’ve rated 9.5, and also the first C-drama I’ve watched with 40 episodes without skipping or stopping halfway. I still remember it clearly because I watched it after the series had already finished in 2023. Before this, I thought 40 episodes was way too many since I usually only watched K-dramas with 16 episodes, so I assumed I might stop halfway but nope, I finished every single episode because of the endless plot twists. I can’t imagine completing all of it back then, and now 40 episodes actually feels short to me. These days, when I watch a drama, I never skip or stop halfway, even if it takes me a long time to finish (since I do have a life). Also, I’ve started enjoying C-dramas more, even though I still watch K-dramas.
I JUST finished ep 30 and omg I love the way the story of the massacre was unfolded. It was done so well. Also...
Before I decide to watch this, please tell me who dies at the end aside from the villain. I saw from a spoiler that the male lead gets poisoned and I’d also like to know if there’s more romance than investigation.
I’m at episode 33 right now, and if I didn’t have to go to work, I’d probably stay up until 4 a.m. to finish…
Lol, I really love Nanheng’s facial expressions he so cute whenever he looks at Yimeng. It’s rare for me, but from start to finish I’ve been hooked on this drama. (Okay, maybe there are a few parts that are a bit boring, but still pretty interesting overall.) From the very beginning, I was already laughing so hard when Nanheng tried to poison Yimeng especially the moment he was about to give her the poison. (Hahaha, I just couldn’t stop laughing at that scene!)
Actually, I do agree with some comments saying Yimeng is a bit selfish for not trusting Nanheng and choosing to trust the script instead, even though Nanheng repeatedly told her to trust him. But from Yimeng’s point of view, I get why she’s scared especially after reading the script beforehand. No matter how much she tries, the main plot doesn’t change, even under different circumstances. Still, there are moments where I get frustrated with Yimeng and just wish she would trust Nanheng a little more.
But because since she eventually started trusting him, I’ll let it slide. Poor Nanheng nobody trusts him, even though he’s so kind. Even the Emperor hates him, despite being his own father. If I were in Nanheng’s place, I’d be like, “Who cares? I might as well rebel!” (Hahaha.) But well, men who are green flags kind and smart like Nanheng only exist in dramas.
I did watch some spoilers (since I’m only at episode 33), and it’s rare to see a drama where no characters die, aside from the villains, and everyone gets their own happy ending.
By the way, since I haven’t finished the drama yet, I haven’t decided on my final rating. For now, it’s a solid 9/10, but it might change after watching the remaining episodes. I’m not sure yet.
I’m at episode 33 right now, and if I didn’t have to go to work, I’d probably stay up until 4 a.m. to finish the whole thing. But since I do have to work, I have no choice but to wait until I get home. Ahh, the pain! By the way, this drama has me thinking about it even at work. Something that rarely happens to me while watching dramas. (Maybe it’s because I took a long break from romance dramas or maybe it’s just because this drama is exactly my type.)
Haha, I love guys like Nanheng, who never give up chasing Song Yimeng even after being rejected so many times. (If you want spoilers, check my comment below.) Anyway, my advice is . It’s okay to read other people’s reviews, but everyone has different opinions. Some might dislike it, while others think it’s worth watching. That’s why I usually stay away from MDL when I’ve decided to watch a drama in the past few months because I’m easily influenced by others. (I almost skipped a drama before because of that )
So, give it a try and see if it matches your taste. If not, maybe try another one. Once I’m done with this drama, I’ll be heading straight to Coroner Diary (here I come! hahaha)
So far, I find this story quite enjoyable. I’ve been following it since Season 1, Flourished Peony. I really…
There was one episode (I can’t remember which) where Mudan finally found out who killed her mother and she ended up stabbing Jiang Chiang Yang with a knife. lol, that scene made me laugh! How could Jiang Chiang Yang still talk so normally with a knife in his chest? 😂 He was literally having a full conversation while being stabbed! That part felt pretty unrealistic to me.
And another thing , Mudan’s shop kept getting sabotaged. People kept accusing her of things, and the shop was shut down multiple times. The townspeople were so quick to judge and stir drama, but when the shop reopened and did well, suddenly everyone came back like loyal customers. Honestly, if this happened in real life, the shop probably wouldn’t have survived all that.
Some scenes felt a bit over-the-top to me, but since it’s just a drama, I’ll let it slide.
So far, I find this story quite enjoyable. I’ve been following it since Season 1, Flourished Peony. I really admire how Mudan never gives up she keeps fighting and rising through every challenge. Overall, the story is quite good, even though some parts might be a little slow. But there were a few episodes that had me laughing so hard.😂 . Spoiler below!
Last time I checked, the rating was 7.9 but now it’s going down. Is this drama worth watching? I heard it has a happy ending, so I’m thinking of giving it a try.
I started watching this drama, but not wanting to expose myself to another heartache of the ending, I decided…
Same here! I'm currently at episode 20 and still hesitating whether to continue or drop it. The main reason? The ending. I'm actually fine if they don't end up together due to being from different worlds (Only those who watched that drama will understand what I'm talking about) as long as nobody dies. But this drama… sigh. That’s why I’m seriously considering dropping it.
I admit, the CGI and storyline are quite okey for me, but I just can’t deal with tragic endings. For you I’ll recommend Love Like the Galaxy instead it’s one of the few C-dramas I can still think about without feeling drained.
Yeah, after ep 17, it just went downhill 😭 The deaths were too much!! And when everyone else was dying and…
Haha, I don’t remember how many episodes I watched, but this was during the time I had just signed up on MDL. Back then, I felt guilty dropping dramas, so I marked some of them as “completed” even though I didn’t actually finish them. But now, after some time, I don’t really care anymore. I probably forgot to update the number of episodes I dropped but maybe I’ll go back and edit it next time.
I really wanted to finish this drama. I liked how the female lead started from the bottom as a pearl slave and…
Before watching this, I already got spoiled that the male lead was going to die. I thought I could handle it since I was in the mood for a sad drama, so I decided to give it a try. I made it to episode 14, and so far, I genuinely liked the story. But around episode 13 or 14 (I can't remember exactly), the characters went to Wuling and stopped to rest somewhere. That night, everyone looked so happy and carefree.
And as we all know with cdramas when characters seem too happy, something tragic is probably coming. So I checked tt, and turns out I was right. Almost all the characters died! Only Duanwu, Yan (sorry, I forgot the male lead’s name), his best friend, and the second male lead survived. Duanwu’s younger brother and the rest were all gone. I was like… what?!
I really thought I could handle it, but nope. I had to drop the drama for the sake of my mental health 🥲. Moonlight Mystique already wrecked me with all the supporting characters dying. I just can’t go through that again. It’s not that I dislike the drama I just can’t bear losing so many of my favorite characters 😭😭.
I really wanted to finish this drama. I liked how the female lead started from the bottom as a pearl slave and slowly overcame her hardships. But unfortunately, I had to drop it at episode 14. Spoiler below.
I’m currently on episode 18, and honestly, there are still a few parts I don’t quite understand. So if anyone…
Actually, what exactly is Pei Dafu’s faction? Why are they trying to arrest his adopted son? And how is all this related to the factory? ( sorry, I can’t remember the name of the factory ). Was it because Pei Dafu once led a rebellion, and now they’re trying to capture the remaining members of his group?
Sorry if I’m asking too many questions. I’ve been watching the drama, but I still don’t really understand who Pei Dafu is.
I’m currently on episode 18, and honestly, there are still a few parts I don’t quite understand. So if anyone else has watched this drama, I’d appreciate some clarification. Spoiler below!
Finally, it’s available on iqiyi with proper subtitles! I actually watched part of this drama before but couldn’t finish it because viki wasn’t available in my region, so I tried watching it on mangotv when it first came out. I still remember laughing so hard at the confusing subtitles like “Queen of England,” what was that even? 😂 Because of that, I stopped watching. But now that it’s on iqiyi with clearer subtitles, I can finally give it another proper watch!

blossom
in the name of blossom(name of the title flourished season 2 )
blossoming love
blossom of darkness
in blossom
I don’t know why, but it feels like c-dramas these days are obsessed with the name “Blossom.” There are just too many titles using it lately.
Sorry if I’m asking too many questions. I’ve been watching the drama, but I still don’t really understand who Pei Dafu is.
