Gu Yi had past (and lingering) mood disorders in the first few episodes, but he's been quite straightforward after that, in his choice to be with Qiao Jing. Doesn't doing goofy things to please her and propose, and saving her life count as becoming "good"? Qiao Jing should have been more sensitive about the three years during which Su Jue left her in the dark before reappearing : he is the rotten turtle egg, clearly. She needed to have it almost rubbed into her face by ep. 14-16 to really see the light. Not that careful or intelligent a girl then. Is Su Jue a psychopath? perhaps, yes, contrary to Gu Yue who is at present point neither bad nor mad.

Ok I had clear forgotten about the dating app. No need for flashback, simple mention to explain to gf was sufficient. Bai Yun agent seems to have disappeared (also held in prison?) Su Juan's evil deeds were partly exposed. But he managed to turn the tables to his advantage and throw doubt on his rival. Every episodes is designed for cliff hangers and in the next ones it starts with plot twists. Quite the recipe.
No that's the Bai who went to France (and left his homestead in trust to Qiao Jing to call it "home". I too, am not quite clear about the family ties if any or the precise role in the company of "ML's best friend who also is a "brother" of Bai Yun" and tried to extract a statement (but not false) from Bai Yun's agent (and abetter in the pushing to injure Qiao Jing incident). I am convinced since quite a few episodes that everything bad that happens to Gu Yi and Qiao Jing is the doing of Su Juan, who in my opinion, has the goal to have the whole Gu company in trouble, and ultimately murder the (idiot) dad and the mom of Gu YI, possibly Gu Yi as well. He feels as pure evil from almost the moment we saw him stumble out of bed with two leg casts. The stone incident is perhaps directly Su Juan's doing, or it could be the evil aunt's husband who cooked up the plan, using unimportant workers' lives for their game to bring Gu Yi further down.

Is that supposed to be years in the future? The baby brother was Xu Cheng Li, and they address him as Xu Yan Cheng, if I remember well (that's what puzzled me). It got messy in timeline, perhaps, in the last episodes where I was expecting something like a grand wedding with or without marital kiss, or at least them looking at household registry booklets with pics of them as newly wed.

It is not that I strongly dislike Janice's kissing scenes (after all most romance dramas have them and she is a "cool cookie"). Only she never seemed to really exude hot passion in any of the dramas I watched that featured her, be it The Brightest Star In the Sky, Skate into Love, Discovery of Romance, Light Chaser Rescue, Meet Yourself (but her role there was not romantic, only tragic) and now here, where she still has flashes of loveliness at times. She mostly did hugs and pecks on cheeks and whacking co star on head to shoo him off in many of these dramas. The close ups were often blurred or showed tightly closed lips on her part or open with a distance... Not as exciting as Jinmi (Yang Zi) feeding the lingzhi to Xufeng (Deng Lun) in AoL, lol !

As for Allen Ren Jialun, I love him as actor and singer ; his gazes are fire in "One and Only" and in the slow "Forever and Ever", which are among my own favorite C dramas (Dark and red are my favorite colors, lol). But then, I am not addicted to kissing idols all the time ; I do love the way Yang Yang had Dilireba get "lower and lower" 😄 in YAMG but I also love Yang Yang in "The King's Avatar"(no romance! just e sports) and in "Glory of the Special Forces" (best military). I also absolutely relished Jerry Yan Chengxu as lover and kisser in "The Forbidden Flower", and found Xu Kai irresistible in "Falling Into Your Smile", but can do with less and tickles like Chen Feiyu's in "Lighter and Princess" or Wu Lei's equally torrid glances in LLTG. Allen Ren and Z.Tao are among my favorite Cpop singers and rappers.
