Hi again ๐ Question for you who read it all already. You wrote somewhere that this was set in Qing dynasty? China's last Manchu-led imperial dynasty, reigning from 1644 to 1911? Someone else though "fictional Song". What's your final views on that? And do you plan more companion videos around this funny one?
we can always hope.... Dear Diary and Love in Time (2022) didn't end with any of above mentioned troupes
You'll likely find me only on the c-drama or c-movies track. ๐ I do/did watch other (countries') ones + anime & donghua, but will not log them or discuss them here. My reasons, my choices ๐
we can always hope.... Dear Diary and Love in Time (2022) didn't end with any of above mentioned troupes
["this kind of lecture"/ the s is not needed ๐ Am I nitpicking? yes] [a "way to make how the story works" sounds awkward, but ok, (although this explanation was unnecessary). I missed the "how" when I read that sentence first, because the sentence would have worked better if you had been content with "way to make the story work", or reworked the whole thing starting with "The story works because of the clichรฉ etc etc". Yes, I am nitpicking ๐. ] You did read enough of my "semi private" messages to you, so now,, I'll delete them in order not to ruffle more feathers (sorry for yours, haha!). I am sure I will read your future comments on dramas with interest. Really, sincerely. I think MDL is a great source for easy information and reactions to C-dramas, since I stumbled on it in 2020. The watch-list feature (designed to keep track of past watching) was what attracted me first, next the comments sections and finally the discussion where I interact rarely but got useful answers to my few queries (esp. about LLTG which was my favorite drama watching for a long while this summer). Anyway I use MDL mostly for private log use. Although I did commit a few reviews for the dramas I got interested about. I have no opinion about Chen Feiyu, although I was an admirer of the movies his father directed in the past. I will probably not go on watching the 2 dramas Winter and Lighter, "coz" actually, I have too little time these days. Car trouble to take care of. ๐ฅ Anyway,, thank you for your answers and for your dedication to write for those who read in English.
we can always hope.... Dear Diary and Love in Time (2022) didn't end with any of above mentioned troupes
Reset was released in January 2022. Umm. Your mentions about troupes had me confused ๐ I think you meant "tropes" ? I liked both Reset and Love In Time a lot, btw.
They finished subbing it โค๏ธhttps://kisskh.me/Drama/A-Romance-of-the-Little-Forest?id=6060
But I think episode 32 has some subbing "holes" or is it another one that has subs not correctly tied to speech and lacking parts ? anyway, I sped through, since I could "not depend" on subs, just like to have them, for various reasons. Preferably double set with Chinese and English. Btw, I was amused by the karaoke scene in ep32 with the pics from Go Go Squid and the song Nameless Generation by Chen Xue Ran ้้ช็ which I like to sing ๐ Here is a lyrics video for those who'd like to practice it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=155l_qyKNp8
So that guy lied about his legs been bad then ended up losing his leg. Wow. The writer got no chills ๐ฎ
I seem to remember a moment with his secretary when they hinted he had recovered from some leg trauma, which could explain his using the wheelchair ploy. Was I too bored so I dreamed that up in a half daze ? Some people with artificial leg(s) can still run, climb, do sports, as was demonstrated in the Paralympics and I have seen some like that in mountains or visiting the Great wall, where the steps are daunting sometimes even for fit people (there's even a Chinese expression about that to imply that you are not admirable or a hero unless you've tackled the Great wall). But from the cdrama Lie to Love (Luo Yunxi as ML), we can also see the danger of over-exerting with artificial legs. Nevertheless, I found this CEO entrapment of SFL very feeble plot-wise, and the guy is not my type of handsome. I prefer the likes of Zhang Binbin, Yang Yang, Wu Lei, Steven Zhang, Joseph Zeng, Timmy Xu, Luo Yunxi, and even Z.Tao with his strange hairstyles, lol , and now also Dai Gaozheng who would have killed it if he'd taken that SML role. Maybe with a different SFL (although "Tiantian" has a cute face and could be funny), + of course, a better script for their part, and not "hogging time from the leads".
I would like to give a shoutout to Love in Time which I very much liked for its several twists in the story, so I did not feel it ever dragged, contrary to AROTLF which I stayed with mostly because I'm a vicious completist, and for ZBB much more than for Esthet Yu. Quick quick, I'm fleeing over to A Familiar Stranger to get a better fix of palatable sugar, before heading back to second half of Light Chaser Rescue, and perhaps for dessert, the new Almost Lover drama that's started yesterday with two somewhat complex episodes which I need to rewatch to understand, perhaps (at least, it is not too long a drama, so I hope it will not turnout to be a "weighty pudding"). Almost Lover also seems to be based on the "lies and deceit" + vengeance trope.
yeah.. he acknowledged that he knew she was smart based on her knowledge of birds, and put together the dots that…
Besides, Zhang Yu mentioned that the heads of their respective departments were acquainted, and he was very close to his own head of department, so would have seen through her and, we can assume, since he was much more powerful than he looked like, just kept a low profile and played along, until the rival tried to step in and he had to be more assertive.
Lots of ads for Fotile kitchen equipment. So that's going to be the title for my heavily spoilerish review. I did watch it till the end, without feeling discomfort from the heavy dose of sugar. Maybe I needed that sort of standardized fluff for a change ?
I thought it was really good! A surprise drama for me, as I hadn't heard about it before I started watching. I…
Well, the time loop or time overlap did not change History, which remains more or less the same, as in RESET (Love in Time/secret roommate is the second 2022 time-loop story that had me enthuse) and it does go about things that should be outlawed in the acceptable way : culprits end up in prison or in mental wards ; the fundamentals of society, law and order, are not questioned. Thus, no fear of censoring even while airing during National Congress : it is quite acceptable. Science fiction (็งๅนป) is very appreciated by the young in China, and OK in particular when it furthers scientific concepts. In this one, for instance: awareness of entropy. The next SFF Worldcon, usually hosted in the USA or other anglophone countries (except Finland and Japan once, respectively) has been elected to be held in Chengdu in August 2023, with a virtual program streaming to those who can't travel to it. It will be an interesting innovation : not just doing the world convention hybrid with virtual streaming, but making two worlds of SFF in different languages and cultures meet, check how hi tech and AI can help and showcase for progress. Despite the daunting numbers of Chinese fans, the hurdle of language and customs that must be respected, the possible conflicts and drastic health measures, the skyrocketing cost of travel. I still hope to land my starship there to meet and retie with kindred mind aliens ๐ in person if feasible, virtually if not. Waiting to see what was made of the 3 Body Problem. Meanwhile, checking on news from the Congress reshuffle and Xi'an and other city covid "flares" and lockdowns! They are hard to live through for my friends there, who were used to a rather wide freedom, I know. Those who like watching dramas or reading can do so, more intensively perhaps: one advised that I watch Strange Tales of the Tang Dynasty and read more Ma Boyong stories (this SFF prize winning author also has upcoming adaptations to c-dramas from his novels. )
Nope. 2021HZY and 2022HZY are not the same people. They have changed that timeline. The real main timeline is…
The ex future HZY of the time lap has died, so no he can't be present : only one past+future HZY exists at that point and this one cannot be killed, so it's a happy end for all that had been threatened, except the agent who is in prison repenting, and the rival lawyer who is discredited and presumably in medical ward for insanity. From now on, it's a new 2022.
Lol i saw that yesterday and went off .. glad its logical now..
I agree. Although because of the undeserved possible deterrent value of these guys' relatively low rating, I strayed and offered a 9.5 as a candy to help with its finding its audience after watching through the first 5 episodes. But now I just noticed that Luo Yunxi and Janice Wu's Light Chaser Rescue are on release, so it may be I'll really need to grow another head to follow with all these goodies and trundle on with some other ones incl. boring AROLF (unless I end up dropping that one). Listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAAUIuyFFKQ to go through those high winds and beating autum rains... Nice song, totally un drama related.
Lol i saw that yesterday and went off .. glad its logical now..
Ratings are bizarre : on iQiyi, 191 Earthlings already generously awarded 9.6 to the remake vs 9.4 for 219 who rated the original since it was released.
Now I have a dilemma, I loved โMeet Me @1006โโฆdo I just keep the happy memories or do I try it? Li Guo Yi…
Well why not? 219 Earthlings rated Meet Me 9.4, and 191 already rated the new Love in Time 9.6 on iQiyi. This alien may grow another head to watch both now for comparison as well as enjoyment. I had not watched MM before and liked the beginning of "LIT secret roommate" ๐
The original is in iqiyi too with english subs (perhaps only for selected regions?)
Indeed, Meet Me @ 1006 is on iQiyi too, rated 9.4 by audience there : and it is available to all aliens in deep space region. Maybe I'll grow another head to watch it too to compare : the beginning is slightly different, there is no heavy duty exotic trophy wielding for murder in the Chnese remake (not yet, at least). ๐ Btw, 191 Earthlings rated that remake to a 9.6 on iQiyi, currently. Not half bad !
I watched it here:: https://kisskh.me/Drama/Seal-of-Love?id=5984&q=true
Yes, ty, it's easily watchable there too. So this was from August, and now we"ll have to wait for what's going to happen next in S2 ; anyone got news about this? ๐
Agree with flabbergast. The first 3 episodes did not warrant such severity. Let's see if my favorable rating at this point will bring this up by tomorrow... Or what influence it'll have in balance with the 4 voters who already don't like and hastened to rate before the show could find its audience. I am curious to see the results of my provisional 9.5 vote. (Ok, I may end up adjusting this later, but at the moment, I have no complaints, so will bravely contribute a candy to help that underrating be amended, to climb some points. if you also like, why not join in the test ?).
I was curious about this, although I should perhaps have checked the Taiwanese original first? But I am too lazy to hunt it down, so I'll just watch this remake. If it's as good as -different category- You Are My Destiny, I do not expect to be bored. (I was quite interested in the part on the Huaniao island for that other drama: the blue and white colors reminded a lot of Santorini and I was not the only one who noticed it ; it was nice traveling virtually this way... the settings were part of my enjpyment, then.) Back to the new "Love In Time" : why use a name that was already used in recent years for an easily forgettable contract marriage story ? MDL has this page wired as "my-secret-roommate" which would have been more fitting.? Anyway, the first two episodes are on YouTube but I swapped to original platform because subtitles were somewhat jumbled on YT, with a "love love love" line that belonged to the bg music song and not to the character talking ๐คจ There were music notes before those song lines but the subtitles speeded by so fast that it created a ... (sort of) time overlap confusion when my tired brain clicked on the show around 22:00 UTC! Episode 3 now : 6 are released on iQiyi VIP; and well, rather enjoying the story, although I don't know where this will be going. Actors look nice, eyes and body movements convey the disquiet of the two caught in the strange situation. The time overlap between 10:06 pm and 10:42 pm has been established and even filmed (!) iI caught a glimpse of Dai GZ too, but it was not yet quite clear to me what his role would be. Not something like in Maid's Revenge, that's obvious ๐ (Since this meshes with the description, I think it's ok to leave this first impression here without a spoiler tag?) There's mystery, perhaps science, certainly science-fiction : I am along for the 'ride" !
