I haven't started watching this, although considering, as filler i between other dramas that I have on my upcoming…
Of course, Legend of Yunxi is a classic ! 😊

You could start watching LLTG on the original platform, since even binge watching, it takes some time. (Beware that eps 2-4 can be rather triggering for some audience, but hang on till 6 when perspective will start making things better understood in hindsight - so go on doggedly without skipping is my advice). You may need a pause after having reached that plateau, from where it will be climbing onwards to the galaxy almost with every episode, with many twists and turns.

As I think I wrote, there is no Season 2 (who knows, maybe there'll be one, given the success!) The drama was announced as being artificially divided in 2 parts with warning that because of having been rushed on release planning, there might be a delay to see part 2. The parts thing was to comply with the new regulations that dramas not exceed 40 episodes : this one is 56 long. (or 57, we shall see) and is scheduled to end August 31. On the day "part 1" ended, the next episode was appended without a change in numbering on the original platform.
So this week starting yesterday night, episodes 43 to 48 will be on, in the advance view VIP plan. And next week, after the (for fans excruciating wait of 4 nights πŸ˜‚) episodes 49 to 54 and Wednesday August 31 the final two episodes. [WELL that was the initial schedule, but look for the Express plan that just dropped, which I describe in the addendum to this post]

Each time new episodes are released, the main platform has additional free ones, so by end of this week I expect you could reach episode 38 already. This one ends on a promise that is a good moment to pause on before forging on to the reputedly harsher next episodes. But I trust that despite what hardships are announced, there will still be the signature humor and surprise moments and the beautiful cinematography that were in the episodes I've watched.

There are other platforms of course, but they get the episodes with a delay and some are illegal. I prefer the legal, original ones on principle.
I do peek on YouTube, but mostly to check another shade of comments, and I noticed some episodes had been mangled by blurring parts of the pictures, there are also jumps now and then, so I don't recommend watching there for this one.

Nevertheless, there are now some nice companion videos such as this one that explains the meaning of the names of the characters ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3XmzichzzA ) and another that details the family relations and genealogy of the real historical models for this series ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ahZC1fiOqA&t=127s ). Recommended watching ! Also a few interesting MVs of the OST music and songs, and one fan made hilarious edit of the interactions between FL and her three suitors, focusing perhaps more on the one who is viewed as insufferable, but will take more importance from episode 42: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYd8dENwbFI

I am also watching some other series, old ones to complete some actors or actresses filmography, and considering giving a pair of new ones a go. But September will be very busy for me, so drama watching may take a back seat then. The summer is ending in the northern hemisphere.
Wish you continued good times.

I haven't started watching this, although considering, as filler i between other dramas that I have on my upcoming…
LLTG first 30 episodes are free to watch on WeTV platform at this point ; further episodes will progressively be free to watch too, after first being reserved for VIP subscribers "as it airs".
The "first part" that went till episode 27 was progressing in the direction of bringing the Yishang CP together nicely, which made for overall satisfaction from viewers. By 42 everything seemed to be still moving in the desired direction though we know the marriage will not be easily celebrated between reckless girl and vengeful hero.
The story should get more angsty after episodes 43-44, 45-46, 47-48 next week ; episode 42 was a turning point with an unexpected surprise twist, which may bode tear-jerkers soon, if I infer from the feelings that Wu Lei disclosed about his conflicted character. Preparing my handkerchiefs 😁
Some who read the book and its later epilogue believe there could be a happy end nonetheless. Nobody knows for sure, at this point. (Or only the insiders to the drama - the teaser previews are cunning and still when one gets to episode, there are surprises. Well-made to keep viewers on edge!)
It's quite a roller coaster now. But still "fire".

Are you watching something else that excites you ?

Title Untouchable Lovers Spoiler
I haven't started watching this, although considering, as filler i between other dramas that I have on my upcoming…
Thanks for your anwer. Yes I think it's just a difference in cut, it's happened with another drama that I watched on YT before.

About LLTG -- this is going to be a long post, maybe I ought to have cut it in parts, but I suppose it doesn't matter much. Of course, this is not for those who seek info about Untouchable Lovers. So only for you then, and I slap a spoiler on so it doesn't affect too much this discussion thread.

LLTG is "LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY", currently airing on WeTV and a few other platforms. Starring phenomenal Wu Lei and Zhao Lusi in their best ever acts.
It is a festival, blending riveting suspense, frequent comic relief, tragic, revenge, ... , in early Han dynasty (the actual emperor model is in fact recognizable with his two benevolent empresses) ; the FL plays the role of Cheng Shaoshang whose name is derived from the tough 7th string of the guqin ancient zither ; CSS /NiaoNiao is about 15 years old and a general's daughter, but has raised herself in semi-abandonent by uncaring relatives while her parents were busy warring elsewhere. So she's become a crafty and reckless girl, refusing to obey orders from elders or those in power. She is courted by a powerful and fearsome general who is also the adopted 11th son of the emperor ; but also by a mocking but also influential scholar and official ; and by the sweet and innocent heir to a complicated official family. Although the drama is scarce on kisses and skinship, the romance is quite hot, with some bits of dialogue that are going to become proverbial. Can't resist give you one "I am the one who has long admired you, but you show no interest." This with blazing eye contact...

There are already a lot of BTS and fan made videos about the drama, but it won't spoil the drama much, if you go watch it, after watching this short MV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYd8dENwbFI (you'll just relish the scenes these very fleeting tidbits are from, when you reach them. The music is not from the drama of course, but so well chosen! Consider this as another form of trailer).

LLTG is available on YouTube with English subs (with some delay from main platform) but with parts being edited out or overlayered by blurring, presumably to hide the gore (not much in the drama, but still some, at justifiable moments). So it is better to watch the drama on another platform than YT, although I also had a look there to check comments, mostly. I really prefer to watch on the original WeTV, since I am happy to have subscribed for one year VIP access there, not that expensive. Will surely renew. Also, on WeTV, there is no artificial division in two parts like perhaps elsewhere and on MDL. They decided to number all the 56 or 57 episodes (it looks like it is still undecided; read somewhere that it was initially slatedfor 77, so that might explain the Blue Whisper like division, to circumvent the regulations that now target too long dramas. Me, I would not mind if it went on for 50 episodes more in addition to the number they'll release!! 🀣)

Maybe a few words of warning though, if you are part of the few that escaped the addiction of over 5 billion excited views already
Episodes 2-4 can be triggering. If you watch them and feel disgusted, hang on till episode 6, and you will see the "past" in a different light. What's wonderful in this drama is the way the perspective keeps changing to encompass a broader picture that we are slowly getting the reveal of, while savoring the slow burn but quite logical and beautiful romance of the two indomitable heroes.

I had not paid much attention to Wu Lei (Leo Wu) before this drama, but am going to go back on this already extraordinary actor 's filmography and checked some facts about his bio and previous work : he started out in front of cameras as a 3 years old toddler and entered the hyper selective Beijing Film Academy in 2018 with top scores to sanction his already thriving career with a prestigious diploma. The young man, who will be 23 years old in December, raised in his family's home in Chengdu, already has his own studio to agent himself and release original BTS. He is a workaholic, a workout freak with such strength as can rival with superheroes and gods, and an endearingly curious mind and sense of humor, and he is an awesome professional actor. Respect !

Zhao Lusi, on the other hand, has steadily risen as an actress in the few years since she started out with a string of unlikely scripts that she managed to bring her humor to. She has now graduated to play more serious and fated roles with Who Rules The World that some viewed as her peak, but is now dwarfened by her perfomance in LLTG. I like her a lot, maybe also because of her special voice (not dubbed in LLTG) which she used in the past also to sing nice OST songs (but on BTS, I caught her tuning in with fellow actors on a good many of my own favorite mandopop songs from Rene Liu to Tia Ray) ; her love of archery (she won a championship once) ; and of ancient instrument playing, all this makes her very sympathetic.
She will be 24 in November (her Scorpio to Wu Lei's Capricorn promised explosive understanding between the two and that has shown to be very true) ; she was also raised in Chengdu (so she can speak with Wu Lei in their home mandarin dialect, as she demonstrated in a sweet clip released as companion to the Tencent Qixi treat) .
She plays the zheng (for relaxation said she in an interview), which is more common than the ancient 7-string qin which is my instrument, but it does bring a sort of cousin-like kinship for me, so I feel very happy to watch her work. Of course guzheng is not the same as guqin : Wu Lei had to get someone else to teach him, when script required he tackle a guqin excerpt, because zheng player Lusi could not show him how (having a guzheng player try to teach guqin would have been akin to a piano player teaching slide guitar to someone else with no previous experience of the other instrument).

If you don't know the difference between the two instruments, here are some links to watch and listen to :
* Zhao Lusi playing zheng, singing and dancing the modern mangzhong song created by a gufeng-edm group out of her native Chengdu : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKGr8RfqHok
* Guqin player δΉ”ηŠ tackling a Tang piece called Moon over Mountain Gate (Guan shan yue) and singing the Li Bai poem it is about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq_HOhV7CD8
* Guqin is most often not paired with singing, nowadays, so the version of Flowing Streams (Liu Shui) that was sent to deep space on the Voyager mission Golden disk is purely instrumental, more intellectual perhaps. Here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lReQHyOYgU&t=59s That's the piece that is excerpted in LLTG.

I am so enthusiastic about LLTG that I think I could cast it as best drama of year 2022. Hitherto, my favorite, in a very different genre, was time loop Reset, a short but action-packed one that caught the attention of Netflix after it was released.

Many Chinese readers had read the original LLTG novel which they spoke highly about, so they knew the beginning could feel long and triggering : I am thankful they explained that to me, so I did not miss out on the masterpiece. Nevertheless, to many audience satisfaction, this should not be a simple transposition of written medium to screen : the script has chosen the option to break away with some of the basis, so there's still suspense for those who read the book, and it will be lovely to have the two versions standing as highly regarded both.
I know many dramas fizzle out in the end episodes, but I have hopes that this one will keep its phenomenal pace, climbing peak after peak until it reaches the galaxy...
Director Fei and a large part of the cast are also awesome.
I'm off to two new episodes 😁

I totally get where you are coming from but I think what she did was going too far, if her actions were going…
Crown princess is one hell of a rotten turtle egg 🀒 At last, CSS has now seen through her cover and pities Crown Prince for the sake of her beloved Empress Xuan. 2nd mom.

If you rewatch the episode, it was not crown prince who gift that but plan of the crown princess, when they were…
You fell for the frame so easily ? Shaoshang and Ling Buyi clearly saw through it early, until they exposed the real culprit. That's what I meant with my earlier comment that we like a little murder mystery thrown into the hotpot... Hehehe.
I relished the acting, very melodramatic, almost Chinese opera style, with Yuan Shen and his feather fan, and the grand gesture of LBY throwing ... what ? a ninja throwing star ? to deflect the blade aimed at our dear star's lovely long and white throat. So satisfying, even though from the moment CSS heard the place was small, we could only watch and admire the expected development. Although, after Liang Xia got taken down by his half brother or cousin (not sure of relation) we understand that the mystery was only a small pebble on a much bigger, still buried , pile.

Just now, I was watching the BTS of the "Mingmen" point scene whew !!! to know they filmed that one in 37Β°C heat!
Lovely background song for that BTS, by Tia Ray,/Yuan Yawei 蒁娅维 who's recently come back into my playlists together with rapper Masiwei. Some hot and fun songs she has , including her most recent ones. and the BTS used one she recently sang on stage on a variety show called δΈΊζŒθ€Œθ΅ž (Praise for the song) It's called 靠近 kΓ o jΓ¬n (Get Close) and she sang it then with a mischievous twist, adding a trill from my old-time fifty year old beloved Carpenters song. (Why do birds.. Close to you.) πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Here's the complete song : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANT2HbiTjWs
Sweet songs never die 😎 and the team looks like they enjoy singing all sorts of songs and were not shy of being caught doing that.

i have loved her for a very long time but in this drama she is really phenomenal
I like to do some research, if the directors or actors/actresses really catch my attention.
Not really that great of a fan actually, since you won't catch me as poster bearer or gluing pictures to walls or sending messages to celebrities on FB or other fan pages. I will admit to general admiration and know the fan names and some fan lore, which I sometimes will mention tongue-in-cheek. I don't do shipping actors and actresses together in real life, considering the support they need from audience should not turn into such imposition or aggressiveness. My forays into the arcane of star signs etc are remnants of another of my incarnations but should be taken mostly as entertaining trivia.
Since most of these c-drama I watch now have young directors and actors/actresses that were not known to me because, for many years, TV dramas were of very limited interest to me, I am very benevolent about what they do, but curious about them too. 😁

I feel like this drama has been so badly misunderstood that I have to leave a comment to let those who are considering…
I haven't started watching this, although considering, as filler i between other dramas that I have on my upcoming to-be-watched list, since I have been favorably impressed by some actors here in other dramas (Bai Lu, Xu Kai, Zhao Lusi...) One question : the description mentions 54 episodes, but on YT where I found it in a playlist, it's 52 episodes. So was there a difference because commercials were cut out, or because it's a different cut altogether on YT, or are episodes missing on YT ?
Presently waiting for the next installment of LLTG which is πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

I think they won't. Because the Tencent platform already has 4K/blue ray. They can make more profit if ppl choose…
I woudn't be surprised if there were already bootleg disk copies on offer in back stores of some places I know in China, or copies to download from the outlaw web (yes, with loss of quality certainly, but maybe less than the YouTube posts of episodes that annoyingly edit out some details for no really good reasons, when the comment section is peppered with irrelevant offers of sex or prayers or politics that stay there overlong).
Sure, since I'm not that poor or stingy, I would not mind purchasing an official souvenir recording or download for that one. It would be a keeper, or/and a nice gift idea. A good marketing idea would be to add a quality booklet with stills and excerpts from the making-of. That's what I like with some collections of Clint Eastwood or other directors/stars' work that I have purchased and like to go back to once in a while. I even believe that a compilation of best-of from Wu Lei and Zhao Lusi would soon be marketable.
Meanwhile, I'm sufficiently happy with Tencent platform to rewatch there and keep subscribing VIP.

i have loved her for a very long time but in this drama she is really phenomenal
Wu Lei is 22 years old, going on 23 December 26 (Capricorn/ Rabbit). But with tons of acting experience since he started facing cameras as a 3 year old toddler. He's been riding horses since very young and has a curious mind. His family is from Chengdu, Sichuan, he is now a Beijing resident. He got exceptionally high scores when he entered top marks Beijing Film Academy in 2018, to sanction his already thriving acting career with an official diploma from the most selective and prestigious institution in the field. He stands 1.82 m (6 ft 0 in) tall and is a workout addict.
Zhao Lusi is 23, going on 24 November 9 (Scorpio/ Tiger) . She came into acting almost as a fluke after studying costume design in Taiwan because "it did not take much effort for her brain". She clearly is not empty headed though, since she brought enough humor and skill to most of her past unlikely roles to make many memorable. She already has 16 dramas + 3 upcoming and 3 movies in her portfolio, and is also a frequest face in many TV shows since 2008. She was born and raised in Chengdu, Sichuan. She plays the guZHENG for relaxation and is an adept of archery, has won a championship once.
She is 5 ft 5 in (165.1 cm). according to some sources, but that may be not perfectly true, as she also was said to be only 161 cm or shorter, and her current weight is officially 39 kg. (not exactly healthy if those data are to be trusted, so let's assume it is just to have audience less in awe of Wu Lei's strength when carrying her one handedly πŸ˜‚
Having a Scorpio and a Capricorn interact often spells watching fireworks...
This was the best casting ever, and director Fei's careful work adds to the revels.
Btw a propos starsigns, ZLS breakthrough role was as the Ophiuchus zodiac master, 13th zodiac sign. So maybe she was meant to be a star in many ways 😁

Lady Luo, CSS' first "friend" when she had just arrived to greet the Emperor and Empress back in episode 24 ; after she entered the palace as Empress' student, Shaoshang often relied on "Jitong" for help in practical matters of service.
Lady Luo was the daughter of a colonel, and officially appointed as readings partner to 5th Princess, so she had to obey her "master" even if she disapproved, but she also had a hidden grudge against Shaoshang, since it was known that the Empress Xuan had thought Luo Jitong could be a fitting bride for Zisheng, which would have made her climb the power ladder instead of facing semi exile as betrothed to a far away cold place near the northwest border.
Jitong's maid was going to be married off too, there, but that one was even more resentful and therefore abetted 5th princess carry out the latter's malevolent schemes against the Cheng Fourth Lady newcomer. She was the first to agree that the ladies "had not seen anything", when they attempted to drown Shaoshang.

But those puncture marks were scary enough and even if not poisonous, added to waters that may not be very clean…
No creature stays in the path of something huge moving purposefullly towards them, they will fear being trampled upon. So, don't walk lightly on a path but don't holler and run: it is the vibrations in the soi that snakes feel, so they will bite if they are surprised (hence : don't turn a stone under which one may be hidden, sleeping) but will flee when the increasing intensity of vibrations indicate they have time to do so.
If you tread lightly and see one at your foot, yes, don't move, or only very slowly. Wild creatures including snakes can feel the fear and become aggressive. If a bee or wasp lands on your arm or face, don't be scared (I know it's not easy, because the element of surprise triggers the same fear and hostility as for all animals): don't flap your arms and make it feel it's landed on something hostile, that's when it'll sting. Stay zen, remember that even the tiniest and most unsavoury creatures are part of creation... Until you savor the roasted cobra, that is 😁

I have had friends who had terrariums with snakes, and first touching a python was a surprise. And I have seen many venomous and non venomous snakes while hiking in the mountains.

If you encounter a snake, it depends what species it is, and what means of transportation you use (on foot? on a horse? on a bike?) so get some basic knowledge about common snakes in your area if you are not living in Ireland or New Zealand which are devoid of native snakes. If you start panicking because you saw a grass snake, it will be a pity if you fall off a cliff because you stampeded into the abyss for fright of a harmless critter : then you will surely die. If it's a cobra or a rattlesnake, since those are very deadly, your survival might depend on your lucky star. If it's a viper, and there's a clinic not too far away, you may be saved even if you get bitten or you may let it slither away, if you are not too close to it as you are too big compared to its habitual preys.
If it's a boa or a python, no problem: not venomous, could even be skinned and roasted like the cobra for a tasty meal , just like eels which are not snakes but a sort of fish.
If it is an anaconda in the Brazilian jungle, know that "anaconda attacks on humans are rare, but these boas can take down large prey, including jaguars.". So have your gun ready to shoot it if it looks like it wants to tackle you.
If you are scared about or curious about snakes, I suggest you go the homeopathic way and visit at length the nearest zoo to visit the houses where they are shown and learn more about them courtesy of Google; and also research what exactly and how you are triggered to phobic reactions or anxiety, to start working on that to become more fearless. To help you, I suggest listening to and singing some songs like those ones to boost your courage:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al7USRMI6Ug (Fearless by Jay Chou) (*)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwYMVQ343AM (Brave, by the Jing Siblings)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rExMGpohB6w (Glory Battlefield from The King's Avatar drama)
πŸ˜‰

Otherwise no, I am not a herpetologist, just a curious mind who relishes all sorts of information and has very eclectic tastes.

Btw, the Snake is part of the 12 patron animals "shengxiao" in the Chinese zodiac. Are you born a Snake ? Me, I'm a Monkey with Tiger and Dragon sons, whom I like to tease the imaginary whiskers of , similarly to Zhao Lusi who is also born Tiger 🀣🀣🀣 (My role model is the mischievous Sun Wukong...) Wu Lei is a "ke'ai de tuzi" ε―ηˆ±ηš„ε…”ε (a cute rabbit). From another video where he introduced the city of Xiamen, I got that he always checks for dangers and traps before he undertakes something. Make of it what you want.

(*) Yes I purposefully chose that song about the Huo family, which will coincidentally link with Shiyilang's birth family, since he is in fact a Huo and not a Ling. (not a major spoiler at this stage of watching if you do so on the original platform).
