if you like mysteries and thrillers -- watch this
this was really a good mystery and thriller drama.firstly the story was so so solid.. the 3 disparate "cases" and how they tie in together into one giant thing was amazing. i was just hooked on this.. trying to figure out how they can merge these 3 cases together.. and man what a cascade it was..
the logic.. shown.. the investigation by both the police and the ppl in the cases was great.. they didnt make any one group smarter or dumber than the other.. that was refreshing..
how it kept shading or foreshadowing the biggest explaination to this whole thing and it turned out be a giant red herring.. was so much fun..
the cast did their roles well.. i was sucked in on each persons portrayal of their characters.. and the changes they went through.. throughout the show.. from where each character started at the beginning of the show.. to flashbacks of how there were in the past ... to how the ended finally at the end of the show...
just wow...
music was ok.. didnt overwhelm or distract
as with these types of story once u see it once theres no replay value.. cause u already know but.. its so good that first time
also as a side note and ending.. after u finish this show.. go to utube and look up avenue x final review for this show...
it will tell you the difference between the show and the book.. and that change.. that was done.. makes u appreciate this adaption even more and makes u think even more about how the show went and the characters in a possibly different lite
one character in particular
Really good story about ppl you probably know in real life
this is a really really good show..the story is solid.. if a bit overdramatized at the end -- but then its a drama soo.....
the cast is really really solid.. and the characterzation of each person is pretty grounded.. each has clearly defined needs and wants and how they believe to best achieve it.. each has their own quirks and thoughts.. strengths and weaknesses that reflect on their actions and how they do things and live their lives on the show...
the interplay between the ML and FL was great.. the tension the will they and wont they.. its a really slow burn love story thats not overt. (due to real life age difference -- but on screen it doesnt really show that much to me)
the mother of the FL -- was annoying and endearing at the same time.. just like all our parents
again the ending was kinda forced.. i think they tacked on just to give it some drama -- and the resolution was bleh
but overall really really good watch
just missed the landing... great start but
the start of this drama got me hooked.. the 2 main leads were good.. and it made me want to see where they wentthe 2nd couple.. was blah and as with many of the other reviews annoying.. but i feel thats how most thai dramas work with these types of stores.. they make them annoying which doesnt help their story later on..
it didnt feel like character growth for these 2 secondary character, it was just like oh ok.. ive moved on from the main obsessions lets settle for each other...
the 3rd couple felt more fun but they were rushed and even less developed
the rest of supporting cast was good
but midway through.. the whole drama felt off.. everything between the mains were weird.. it didnt flow right.. things were either rushed or resolved so offhandly it didnt really make sense
it just felt like the writers were tired and just wanted to finish it as soon as possible
the mains worked well but.. man.. it just felt blah at the end
fun light quick watch noona drama that doesnt take itself too seriously
this drama is so so much funits light its a bit silly.. i mean really the person that styled he ML was obsessed with grease... i swear
but over the chemistry in the cast was amazing the ML/FL was very good
the 2nd couple was weird.. their story had the drama/trauma part but.. it was glossed over.. soo... eh
the 3rd couple was cute and light and sweet
the 4th couple was fun wish it had more screen time instead being deterrants to both the ml/fl leads
the story was light the music was definitely catchy.. too bad the main theme isnt on spotify
if u like noona without too much heartache but that will they wont they pull.. this is it
fun watch binged in 2 days
Sweet paint by numbers romcom with a ton of philosophical points
This show is your typical paint by numbers romcomWhat sets it apart and make it more enjoyable are 3 things
1. The chemistry between all 3 couples are electric. Like sugar sweet electric. Each three go through the ups and downs and uncertainties of a relationship.. surprisingly with decent attention paid to all three. Nothing is really overshadowed. Though some parts are time skips u just gotta accept without it being said or shown
2 the philosophical points for each episode. How it ties into the food made or reason ... so good
And the food. Yumz
3. Its really light and sweet. Theres a whole lot at the end that seems forced or rushed. And u definitely gotta take it with a grain of salt lots of it at times. But its really worth it
Music i personally like but def repetitive
Good show will make u smile. Cry and feel the flutters
Good show.. for supernatural mixed with reality
this show is good.. not amazing like some other TVB supernatural shows that mixes reality in.. the ending stretches it a bit too far.. but overall the setup and stories within the overall mystery of the show is good..
it has a good mix of morality, urban legends/folklore from different parts of asia.. which ties into the overall setup of the show nicely.. not too forced..
the mystery isnt truly a mystery.. its one road that leads u through.. no swerves no twists... but still enjoyaable how the pieces fit together...
the two leads work well together.. the fl is a bit stiff.. the ml does a good job esp towards the end when he plays to his problems..
the supporting cast is solid..
music.. isnt intrusive.. but nothing memorable for me
good show overall
good good short show.. makes you think about life good and bad
this was a decent tvb series..it took many old school asian thinking about ghost and reincarnation and stuff..
took that did a 21st century twist and made it relavent to the younger generation.. which i thought was kool..
the twists as this story develops.. isnt really super shocking.. those the twist involving the main leads.. is surprisingly dark..
the 2 mains had ok chemistry.. for me the FL needs a bit more seasoning.. the ML was ok..
the "love story" between them was cute.. kinda.. it jumps or rushes development.. whether its their character or not.. it shows growth but sometimes it feels forced...
the supporting cast was good... as was their stories..
nothing grounding breaking but a good story told by the writes..
its a good light thai rom com
i dont watch much thai dramas.. but most of the ones i have watched.. were much heavier much more melodramatic..this was really light hearted.. fun rom com... some of the beats of the original were there but its not really a straight remakes.. the characters were all there but the setups and the situations are all different and major parts of the chinese version didnt make it into this one..
the 2 ml were fun to watch.. the fl lead character was written much more unsure of herself.. putting a much tougher fascade that is much more easily broken.. than in the other version..
the ml character was about the same.. not much difference though i felt a bit less arrogant? throughout the show..
their chemistry was good..
the 2nd leads.. was fun but a bit weird.. short.. kinda underdeveloped..
the antagonists on both sides.. time and kwang.. were done well for their parts... strangely time had more screen time than kwang and more time to cause havok.. but it was light overall
good show music was catchy...
nice adaption.. wouldnt call it a remake.. and the surprise cameos at the end were fun
Its passable but for some reason not as fun as the original
this show was ok.. its a remake of welcome to waikiki and that show had me smiling ear to ear most of the time..this one not so much.. im not sure i would have watched this version past episode 1 if not for serena chen
the show hits all the notes of the original but for some reason it felt less fun.. more restrained.. not as crazy or over the top.. the main couple romance felt off for some reason.. it doesnt feel as compelling.. as the original
the sister with the actor felt a bit more consistent and more flow with it..
that third couple.. well.. thats just what it was.. something to follow the original.. really no sparks at all
the jokes felt flat.. or again more restrained. the baby was cute when u saw her.. though really.. they couldnt afford a bigger baby doll.. so jarring when they used the doll.. instead of a real baby,. u can really tell..
wasnt bad .. wasnt great.. passable is the best i can say about it..
great show but you must put yourself in the kdrama mindset
this is a really really good show..it deals with a lot of real life issues.. no matter how old you are.. some of these things are real...
yes its true.. u probably wont like anyone in the drama for the first half of the drama.. even maybe till the 6th episode.. except the male lead and his best friend..
and even more so if your not in the kdrama mindset.. (ie suspend real life thinking.. ) then you probably would hate EVERYONE except the forementioned male lead and best friend...
but if u can get past reality (or just suspend it) and just listen to the story and see the growth of all the characters.. it really becomes a joy of self love.. self discovery and acceptance.. of who you are and what your limitations are.. whether its real or imagined..
the acting from the male lead is great.. the fl lead is decent.. was the chemistry between the two.. depends.. on how u see it.. its not lovey dovey.. and in my opinion. it shouldnt have been.. its acceptance. that.. your partner may be lacking in areas.. but.. u still consider them.. wonderful enough to be with.. as in real life
the music was good..
the support cast was fun and good.. though.. the sister.. i just wonder why they wrote her.. in.. headcount..? :)
really really good show.. yes.. it has its issues and yes in real life..what some of these characters did.. should be and would be despicable.. but.. thats why i watch kdrama.. to escape real life.. and to suspend my belief in reality for a few hours at a time
Its very good down to earth solid drama
this is a very cliche various tropes but solid drama with a bunch of good vibes..its light and fluffy.. with a hint of melodrama that doesnt dive too deep but just enough to cause some heartache/sorrow..
like most dramas its a mix of tropes.. but these are done well and blended together and not one storyline truly overshadows all the other side plots...
there are 3 couples / 6 ppl that all grow and develop as the drama moves forwards.. some more than others but they are all relativately equally spread out in terms of plot points and resolutions..
each character basically has to find themselves and accept their insecurities.. as well as each others insecurities..
theres truly not out of the blue plot points.. well..technically there is.. which is the one thing i dont understand how it helped either character.. but i personally just wrote it off as these characters needed something else as a conflict/endgame.. but.. it def felt forces/unneccessary.. but eh.. thats just me
the friendship between the girls were amazing and fun to watch.. the interaction between the 6 was great...
im not a great judge of acting.. but it wasnt bad in my opinion.. others may disagree
the music was nice.. and wasnt too out of place...
this was a drama u can watch and smile throughout and just enjoy.. while u forget life for about 40 mins at a time
thanks
Makes u smile and feel good but dont expect much else
This is a decent show. Follows all the tropes and standard c drama setupsContract marriage... enemies to lovers... cold male lead due to trauma. Its all in there
The cuteness is there due to the kid and damn that kid is cuuuute.
The leads work better when they are bickering and flirting. After they get together. Not so much
As with any light and fluffy dramas. All this are solved within an episode or 2
The 2nd and 3rd couple. Well dont expect a lot. Whether its screen time or logic of how they get together its uhhhh.. passable would barely be the word for it
The music. May get on ur nerves.
Decent show for me the cuteness of the kid helps it to be a bit more than decent. Without the kid.. its barely there. Does make u smile but that kid makes it a much bigger smile
its missing something.. a spark or something
overall this show is ok.. it checks off all the boxes.. of a light chinese rom comcute lead couple
nice 2nd couple
weird 3rd couple
out of nowhere product placements
ending that wraps everything up neatly..
great support characters and comedy
but for some reason.. its just missing something
its drama or the multiple protagonists.. felt weird. like they didnt like this guy made another guy bad then realize he wasnt working then made another person bad
the redemption and growth of characters felt forced and off.. maybe its the lack of time framing throughout the show
random character gets picked up and dropped throughout the show(focus wise).. the flow of the show felt off
if u like the main FL the watch this..
if u need something to kill time.. watch this
but be warned everything in this show is very superficial
fun sweet good solid story
this is a fun sweet and really well acted and written story..everything here ties together nicely.. the acting and the interaction of the cast between each other is so well done..
they look like they've known each other for years.. or been in the industry for yrs...
everything just works well between the cast
the story is solid and gives everyone closure and growth.. like true closure and growth... even the 2 finishes was great...
u basically want to be any one of the 3 couples shown.. ud love to be their friends.. and cheer them on.. u wil smile on the story parts that are trope romcom parts but done so well
just watch it.. its really a good show.. a nice reset for the next heavy drama on ur list
or when u need just a smile on ur face
this is a cliche romcom that depends on tastes
first off this drama is ok.. its not great.. it paints by the number but there are good to great things in here depending on ppls taste...music.. i prefer the rock mix of the songs.. and many of the songs are good to great.. so its nice.. some ppl may not like it.. cause well it is an acquired taste.. and it does repeat often.. i mean a lot.. but.. for me that works..
story.. i think the ml/fl lead story is nice.. the teases.. the missed opportunities.. feels like a slow burn love drama.. the anticipation.. i love those.. so it works for me.. what doesnt is how the ml is the god of everything.. but eh.. that is par for these types of cliche.. the fl is strong if but airheaded.. which works for her character
the 2nd couple is more interesting and i wish they fleshed them out more.. theres enough clue to figure out the hurt of the 2nd fl but damn.. something more concrete and what a weird finish.. they just dropped the true ending for the 2nd fl character..
i for one want closure dang it.. :)
the chemistry is ok.. its like pulling teeth to merge the 2 stories together.. it worked barely.. but eh..
the roommates were key in killing the rest of the time and making it much more bearable cause there were only so many situations.. they can put both sets of leads in before it gets too silly..
overall its an ok story.. great music .. if ur into it.. chemistry was good
