Yes! To me it would make much more sense if it were Yangying reminiscing the squad instead of Chuyue! It would’ve ended better if they end it with the successful rescue of Wudi with him vowing to be a better emperor. Keep the Beipan war, Wu palace subplot to a S2 perhaps. They tried to do too many things within too few eps. Too much time spent on NYZ & RY’s love talks, and now that you mentioned I was very frustrated that Liudaotang members were dying but their leader and his gf were so far away, oblivious to what’s going on in He County. To me the leader of the mission must not be separated too long from the delegation until Wudi is completely safe.
LTG err…saw right through him from the beginning. Never had any hope in him 🤣
YSS…yes he’s my fav after YY. In the beginning I thought he’s the type who would annoy me but I was wrong. His comedic timing is perfect, Alen Fang performed his subtle emotional changes very well, I love it. They did him dirty in the end. Not even a proper burial or goodbye…

Looking back, I think I do love the scene where Qian Zhao & the bros misunderstood Ruyi & tried to kill her. The angst and bitterness from feeling betrayed and until the bros apologized to Ruyi were so good.

At least it means we’re not the type to be easily manipulated by this type of men 😂 I also thought YY would have a better ending. Like instead of choosing to be someone’s wife, she’d actually become the ruler of Kingdom Wu.

The monarch’s coming of age should be the 3rd prince of King An and not LTG & YY’s son.

As for the academy. I don’t think it’s Heaven. They showed a teacher teaching in an academy after the 10+ years. They didn’t show the face of the teacher but they voice sounded like YSS. I would assume the academy the boy mentioned referred to that academy.

Attempting to satisfy everyone ended up confusing everyone 🤣 I’m ok with SE & I expected deaths. I don’t have so much of a problem with them dying although I’m sad but I’m the type who has to have things make sense within a reasonable scope. Herein lies my problem. YSS is not the kind of man who would go all out in the battle only to abandon all of them, without caring abt NYZ, his only bro left. NYZ slim waist being stabbed from all directions cannot survive that 🤣 Everyone saw him except RY who didn’t turn to look. So his identity can’t be fake. I believe they all died. They didn’t have to show the academy really. That confused me greatly 🤣

It IS! I went back to watch the last scenes again. And I’m back to being confused. 1st they showed a teacher teaching a class. Then the boy told CY that he lives in the academy nearby and his dad makes the best wine. Remember YSS always bragging abt drinking the best wine? So I’d assume that’s SS’s son. The voice of the teacher is lalat SS’s voice. BUT the boy’s name doesn’t make sense then. And then, the boy said his mom makes the best sword choreographs, which makes one think that sounds like RY. But SS & RY?! Or maybe it’s not RY but Meiniang? 🤯😵‍💫

That might be it. 🤣 we’re all trying to solve the puzzle ourselves.

Xianxia 🤣 I read a theory somewhere here that said CY died & was brought by the boy to join the group. RY was pregnant with twins when she died so the boy & his sis are RY & NYZ’s kids in the afterlife. That made sense to me but someone under my comment here mentioned if they all had died, why is there a need for NYZ & RY to name their son Shisan? Since they’re all together in the afterlife anyway. 🤣 this also made sense to me. So…

Yeah I saw a post with the best explanation after I posted mine. It says: “The best explanation I've seen goes like this: RY was pregnant with twins - a boy and a girl - when she (and NYZ) died; the final scene is CY entering the afterlife; the boy - who is named after YSS - is meeting her to take her to join the whole gang.”
This then makes perfect sense to me.

I like this explanation! This actually makes sense then. Otherwise gosh I was so confused.

Oh just wanted to add that out of all deaths, the one that got to me most was Yuan Lu’s death. His whole journey back to An I was just crying for him and when he died in Yangying’s arms…I was devastated 😭 I expected the deaths but my poor poor Yuanlu…

Finished watching & Im confused af here guys. Help me out. Who’s that boy? If it’s not an illusion then he should be NYZ & RY’s son right? That means RY survived? How? Then logically she would only have one child IF let’s say she’s already pregnant with NYZ’s child. Unless…she has a pair of twins which is such a stretch imo.

Also why is Chuyue the one reminiscing the Liudao Hall bros? She hardly knew them except for YSS. It would make sense to me if it’s YY who sees their illusions and cry happy/sad tears.

That teacher who was shown teaching a group of kids sounded & looked like YSS. Are they saying he’s not dead? How could that be? He couldn’t & wouldn’t leave the battleground and disappear just like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overall, this drama is still worth watching for all the brotherhood & girl power from RY & YY. But the whole Beipan war is so badly done it does take away some big points from me. How can a kingdom as strong as An(that’s what’s shown to us in the drama) not have any good general? One general died & that’s it? They all relied on LTG, an unstable emotional boy? Ok he’s the Duke he can lead but if NYZ could tell right away that splitting the soldiers into 2 sides is bad strategy, aren’t there ANY general who should have experience in war think of that & tell LTG? Beipan has so many weapons and artillery etc but Kingdom of An doesn’t? They don’t even have enough soldiers 😂 Then that means Beipan is one helluva powerful kingdom?! Both Wu & An only have bows & arrows, swords & blades. The whole war’s like a wild random battle without strategy & proper leader.

Finally, LTG never learned till the end. He indirectly caused the death of NYZ or sped up his death 🙄
