Could somebody please explain how in EP 16, ML said he had to be "born again just like you were" yet FL hasn't…
I'm really sorry, but I didn't understand your question completely. I think you are asking about how FML ages. In that case, let me explain it this way. So she was indeed murdered 28 years ago and reborn as Oh Baek Ryun. She wasn't the high school girl who came after the ML 28 years ago, but she was reborn as a different person, FML - Oh Baek Ryun, after she was murdered. That's why she hasn't aged after 28 years because Oh Baek Ryun is only 28 years old. She only regained her memories from her past lives after she saw that painting from her first life in ML's drawer. The murderer was aged because when he first murdered the FML in her past life, he was only a teenager. So he aged with time because in the current timeline, murderer is around 45 years old. As for the ML, yes, he said he was 'reborn again just like the FML,' but what he meant was he is not a fairy anymore. It doesn't mean he was born as a human baby then had to grow up like Baek Ryun did after she was murdered 28 years ago. ML is still him but in human form, not in fairy form. It only took him around 3 years to come back as a human, didn't take 20+ years just like FML did. Hope this helps you to clarify whatever you have confusions with.
NO UR KIDDING!!!!! I really wanna watch this and was mentally preparing myself to get over the cringe FL but WORSE…
I'm on episode 4 now. Yes, it's pretty bad. Usually I purposely avoid the trope where the FML chases the ML first because, let's face it, in almost every drama with that trope, the FML always embarrasses herself, and I take it too personally for some reason. But I'm forcing myself to watch this one just for the ML. He's so fine. His acting is pretty bad, though. Maybe it's his character. Somehow , I was able to get through the worst part, so I think you should give it a try and see. If you can get through that embarrassing part, it's a pretty good watch.
If you can get over the secondhand embarrassment, the bad acting (mainly from ML), and constantly remind yourself…
Hi, can you tell me if the FML is going to keep embarrassing herself? I'm still on episode 1, and it's hard to watch how she behaves. But I like the ML, so I want to continue watching. If she's going to keep embarrassing herself like that, I don't think I'll be able to handle it.
The ending was so beautiful and satisfying—everything I'd hoped for in a fantasy drama. Although I've been a fan since the beginning, I also think the chemistry between the leads started to decline after they began dating. They had fantastic chemistry and tension before they started dating, but once they did, the focus of the drama shifted more towards the mystery part, which eventually impacted their chemistry. This was especially noticeable from the male lead's perspective, as his focus shifted more into the murder case in the latter part of the story. Despite the dip in their chemistry and that boring story between the other fairy and FML's friend, I loved the overall story, and I still stand by my earlier comment about it giving off a 2016 K-drama vibe. I especially appreciated how the writers decided to give a very satisfactory and complete happy ending, avoiding any confusion—a rare treat, especially in fantasy K-dramas. Huge thanks to the entire crew for providing something that made me look forward to the weekend. It may not be the best or everyone's cup of tea, but for me, it's definitely one of my favorite K-dramas from 2023, and I'll probably be re-watching it anytime soon. Gonna miss it.
What a beautiful way to wrap up an amazing story! Everything about this drama was so captivating. Now, facing the end of all three of my favorite dramas in the same week, it's hard to imagine my weekends without them. My weekends will never be the same without this, My man is cupid and my demon. But I'm relieved to know that I can re-watch them anytime, thanks to the satisfying conclusions that didn't ruin the story. While I loved every aspect of this drama, I have one small complaint – the dolphin couple didn't get enough screen time. Their story could have developed more. Despite this, everything else was on point. It was an emotional and fun ride, truly one of the best comfort dramas I've ever watched. I'm going to miss it so much.
What are your theories for Dohee and Guwon? Do u think they will meet in other lifetimes and Guwon will wait for…
If he were human, he would know it because he wouldn't be able to make deals anymore with humans. The fact that he doesn't know means he's still the demon. Directors and writers often focus on providing a satisfying ending at the moment without considering what happens afterward. Maybe once Do Hee dies, she'll be reincarnated again, and Gu Won will wait for her, similar to what happened in Goblin. Alternatively, as she gets older, he might strive to become human as well, or he could choose to give up being a demon and pass away with her when the time comes
It took me a while to write this review because, first, I already miss them so much—it feels like I've lost something I looked forward to every day. Second, I needed to sort out my mixed feelings about the ending. I'm so glad they decided to give a happy ending to this couple, which made it easier to find closure. Having a happy ending means I can rewatch it whenever I miss it.
Although I'm one of the few who thoroughly enjoyed this without getting bored even a little bit, I was kind of disappointed about the last two episodes. Some of them make no sense, and some of them were too typical. Especially the ending of episode 15—him being the demon, even if he is shot, he'd still survive. FML knows this well but still decided to take the bullet for him. I know K-drama directors typically include scenes like this to show how deep their love is, but it was like the stupidest scene I've ever seen in a K-drama. And then somehow Gu Won perished, yet he appeared again without any problem in the very next episode? They underestimated the meaning of 'perish' by bringing him back to life as if nothing happened. Yes, it was much better than getting a sad ending, but they could've executed it better.
Last but not least, him continuing to stay as the demon was somewhat a letdown for me. Them leading a normal, ordinary life together would have been a much better ending. It would also give an explanation for how he survived being perished. He was being punished for not obeying the manual, and returning to being a human after bringing the dead back to life would have made more sense. Now, he still has to keep making deals with humans to keep his demon side. Also, he will have to keep living in the same form even when Do Hee gets old and even when she dies. In my opinion, the ending could've been so much better than that, and the ending we've got didn't do justice to the rest of the drama that I've been enjoying so much. Nevertheless, I'm truly going to miss this so much, and it'll be at the top of my favorite drama list.
It seems like I'm the only one still loving this and not getting bored with it. I'm looking forward to watching the ending next week. Shed a few tears during that intense last scene in episode 14. I feel bad for both of them. I hope they both find peace and happiness, leading to a happy ending so that we can have our own peace of mind and happiness after the ending.
So worth it! Ratings can be misleading; don't let them fool you when it comes to such great dramas. It's pretty…
Although some aspects and the drama's focus may differ, this show is indeed similar to Reply 1988 in my opinion. I agree it's not an exact match, but it's definitely fair to say it's 'pretty similar.' The story revolves around group of friends growing up together and their friendship plays a significant role, strong family bonds, and the neighborly connections in that small village, and the comedic aspect in both dramas are also similar. There are many similarities. This one delves even deeper into emotions, offering a more profound narrative than Reply 1988. The main reason for this lies in Reply 1988 showcasing lives only in their teen years and twenties, while this show goes beyond, depicting what real adulthood looks like and how challenging it can be. Yes, the storyline is a bit different, but so many aspects are similar, making it okay to say they're 'pretty similar.' The use of 'pretty' here implies a moderate level of similarity between the two dramas, acknowledging the parallels in character development and background despite variations in the overall plot.
guys is this worth watching?saw the mid rating and recent reviews, someone pls convince me
So worth it! Ratings can be misleading; don't let them fool you when it comes to such great dramas. It's pretty similar to Reply 1988 (if you've watched it, you'd know how great it is). This drama is a complete package with romance, family, friendship, comedy, and more. I personally enjoy it a lot. It's currently one of my favorite among all the ongoing K-dramas and will likely become one of my all-time best comfort dramas
Literally obsessed with this drama, and episode 12 was incredibly satisfying, well... Only until the last part :(. I regret not waiting longer to start this; then, I wouldn't have had to endure such a long wait for the next episode. Overall, everything's great, but a bit more focus on Gong Ji Chan, Cho Hae Dal, and Cha Ha Yool's story would make it perfect. Their storyline is so great and adorable, but they don't get much screen time. With only four episodes left, I'm not sure if there will be enough time to fully develop their story
I saw in another comment that you're on episode 9. Don't worry, by episode 12 you'll know who to root for. The…
Really? I don't know if I should be relieved or sad about that. I genuinely liked him and hope he won't do something too bad. Anyway, thank you for the heads up! ♥️
Wow, I've never struggled this much to choose between the ML and SML before. Every character in this drama is a green flag. I feel torn between rooting for the ML and dealing with second lead syndrome. It's not fair to put two perfect characters falling in love with and being faithful to the same girl simultaneously. How am I supposed to root for just one of them when they do that? I'm suffering with both the ML and SML. 😭💔
I'm still on episode 9 (I started late on purpose so that I can watch all the episodes together). I've grown so attached to it. I really don't understand the rating system anymore. How does it only have an 8.4 rating? This deserves so much more than that. I've cried more than three times already because of their acting. I could feel the emotions they portray; the storyline is top-notch. It's so similar to Reply 1988, and maybe this has even more emotions than Reply 1988. It's all good – great story, great acting – everything's perfect. I really love this, and it's so sad that these ratings don't do justice to this masterpiece. I find myself questioning my taste lately because many of the dramas I enjoy have low ratings. I wonder if the issue is with my preferences rather than the others. Perhaps I'm drawn to average or even less popular dramas, which could explain why many of my favorites don't receive the ratings I believe they deserve.
It's so weird that people here at upset that FL chose to remain true to whom she actually loved and did not lead…
I believe the majority of viewers aren't upset because FML wasn't leading a happy life with the past Tae Ha, as if nothing happened. I genuinely understand FML's perspective and the complexity of her feelings, unable to simply love him even though he's the same person she's in love with. What many of us hoped for was some sort of justice for Joseon Tae Ha. Perhaps if the Tae Ha in 2023 had retained some memories from his time in Joseon, he would know that FML's lack of love in the past was also because she loved him. Or, if FML had shared everything with him before he passed away in the past, he could have known that she only loved him, not someone else. It's heartbreaking to think that he died believing she loved someone else who looked like him. He never knew for sure that it was also him, which is really sad from his perspective.
The ending felt very rushed, as if the writers just wanted to slap a 'Happy' note on it without considering the storyline. Numerous questions linger, and i feel really bad for FML's family and the past ML. She went back to the past because of ML's heart condition, but then she ended up returning. So, is he magically okay now even when she's back? How did she even come back to the future? And what about her parents in the past? My heart goes out to the past ML; he passed away without knowing it was him that FML loved all along. I wish she could've shared her story with him and let him know —how he was reborn in the future, and how they met and fell in love there. Although it was always him from both the past and the future, I still feel like the ML from the past was wronged for some reason, just loving her until he died. Overall, I loved the entire drama, but I might drop the rating a bit solely because of the unsatisfying ending.
