eh, so disappointing. They really went with the lazy abolishing route. And here I had my hopes up that we'd get a fun modern royalty drama. Instead of just randomly abolishing it, should've put the royals and nobles in their place and was so looking foward to see her as a sassy queen with both of them bringing in new changes and life to the crown. meh, so sad
What was the point of I-AN keeping the late king's will and their contact in the safe? They didn't even reveal how queen mother got her hands on the contract and that PM was the one who revealed it.
It was fun in the beginning. The romance was good and the chemistry was DEFinitely there but yeah towards the end it kinda lost me. The progression of PMs character was weird and annoying. Same with the Queen mother, I feel like her character had potential but it was fully wasted.
I honestly stopped care at these last two episodes, It WAS cute in the beginning and the romance was not bad just the plot was all over the place
With the current situation in South Korea, I actually agree with the netizens on this one.
First off, this is supposed to be the *modern era* if Joseon was left intact.
Let's start with the relationship with the Ming & Qing Dynasty.
The Royal family and the Korean govt were not free to do whatever they wanted during these eras. In order to receive recognition, trade & military support the Korean citizens, including the royal family had to kowtow to China and provide tributaries until the late 1800s! Korea was NOT officially independent during this time. Hell, any Joseon king required Chinese investiture e.g. the emperor of China had to give them their seal and officially legitimize them to their title, IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. It's an insult to Korean sovereignty! China might not be seen as "imperial" but the affect is essentially the same as Japanese imperial rule, it's just that Japan was more totalitarian during their time.
SO... why are we using HANJA instead of hangul for these 2 words in discrepancy!? Hangul was created by a JOSEON KING for a specific reason and he is absolutely the favorite king of Korea and this is a major reason for that. The love of the Korean people! The words should be written 만세 and 천세 ONLY! If it's the modern era, let's get it right instead of bringing it back to what the netizens are actually complaining about.... putting them back into a tributary position where they're using Chinese that not EVERY citizen can read. HANJA is only taught currently as an ELECTIVE in middle or high school!!
Korea should be sovereign and the language should equal this as well.
Perfect Crown is a total mess. I think there's an internal clash in creative output between the director and writer. I don't blame the actors because it's obvious they all tried. Completing it only because of my curiosity & I like the antagonists' acting. Thankfully this weekend is the finale 😮💨
It's really funny to me that a bunch of foreigners are always lecturing knetizens about THEIR media, dramas and history in mdl comment sections. Where is the "It's just fiction" mentality when your favorite characters are getting slandered though lol
I would like to apologize to all those who dropped after episode 1 and I shamed you . you were right this drama was horrible. The actors did the best they could with a shit script but ultimately it could not be enough
The drama production issued an apology for some historical inaccuracy. They said they failed to examine the changes…
Yi An wore "구류면류관" (Nine-row crown) in the coronation ceremony (nine rows of jade bead ornaments hanging down on both sides of the hat) which is historically inaccurate, Traditionally, the nine-row crown was worn by "King''s of a vassal state... He was supposed to wear "십이면류관" (Twelve-row crown) as an ''Emperor" of independent imperial state. (A total of 24 strands of gemstones hanging down , with 12 strands each on the front and back of the square plate on top of the hat)
Furthermore, the subjects attending the coronation ceremony was shouting "천세" (Cheonse) following the etiquette of a vassal state, instead of “만세" (Manse) which is the symbol of an independent imperial state.
(For context, Korean Joseon Dynasty held the formal position of a 'vassal state' for a period of time within its tributary relationship with the superior independent Chinese Ming and Qing dynasties,at that time it was standardized etiquette to shout 'Cheonse' to Joseon Kings, instead of 'Manse ' at official gatherings or in front of Chinese envoys (Cheonse is one rank lower than Manse)..After the proclamation of the Korean Empire, From the time Emperor Gojong proclaimed the Korean Empire in 1897 and elevated the country to an independent imperial state,he reclaimed the Title "Emperor" from "King" & they were officially able to shout “Manse Manse Manmanse".From then, they no longer wore vassal state's 9 crowned crown, nor they used "cheonse choense choencheonse" in King's coronation ceremonies anymore)

oh no, turns out we were right and the script is actually bad and so of course the ending also is ! who could have predicted it ? certainly not us, we are just haters after all for pointing out the flaws of the scripts 🙄(I saw a tweet about how the story is unfolding and thought I'd come say hi to the people who camped in my mentions the other day bc they take criticism personally🫶)
