There were only two scenes with this woman, that were so on the nose, the only way they could improve it more is to give her a Dalmatian coat lmao Zero layers to the characters. What do you mean Fadel has no reason not to trust Style if he himself said that the fact that Style appears everywhere he is was the main reason. I get that for some “I’m lonely he’s pretty” is a great love story which of course would make the most untrusting person immediately give up all of his trauma and distrust and life values for a person who decided that grief meeting is funny. Just cause you want a normal life doesn’t at all mean that you can change 180 degrees for any dog who barks.

Maybe you haven’t seen many movies from that time, but sadly almost all of the scenes here are from iconic american movies. From Pulp Fiction to Clueless. And yes, they all just randomly thrown there, if you saw these you’d get it.

I’d gladly watch any ridiculous action scenes aka twisting bullets Wanted style and someone shooting 5 ppl with one bullet, I love those. I’m not talking about “realistic” action scene. But you gotta understand that action for the sake of coolness is one thing, while things like cutting the paper with a spoon is already entirely different thing. I’m 100% telling you it’s obvious that he forgot about the police part. Otherwise he would’ve knocked he out in any other place, I would say a word about one arm action I even if it’s still dumb. But this scene makes no sense, unless Fadel loves to create additional problems to himself as an arcade. Which is not the kind of person he is. He’s practical. He wouldn’t intentionally make himself a quest how to drag Style with one hand in front of all the policemen. Why would he need this? It simply needed to be shot in another place, that’s all.

I don’t understand why you’re taking so much offense with the fact that I just pointed out that director left a full camera in a shot. It’s just a fact. These mistakes are facts. It’s not opinions. I don’t say that you can’t enjoy the show or that you have no right to do so. You can read the characters as you’d like and add something from yourself and even wrote on the blank spaces all you want, it’s your choice. But it still won’t change the fact that the directors mistakes are facts, not opinions. You personally can ignore them, but they won’t magically disappear for others.

I think you mistake not liking the character and bad acting. Dunk was great in “Summer Night”. Director doesn’t give actors acting classes, he can only guide them in certain scenes explaining what their character feeling (if you saw any of jojo’s with actors bts), but he cannot help them act out the particular emotion. He can only explain. Style is just more lively and entertaining character than Dao or Zo (who is just a blank space for the most part of the show). Dunk said that playing “softboys” is incredible tough for him, but since he entered White and Style all seems fine. And also this is Dunk’s 4th main role. If he didn’t get at least a bit better, that would be a completely lost cause. It’s not on Jojo imo. And I wouldn’t say thar Dunk is incredible at acting in this one either. It just that the character’s awkwardness and comedy fits it all a lot. We’ll see how it’ll go in a dramatic scenes. Some scene still buffle me, like when Fadel cries hugging him, I still don’t understand Style’s face.

About inconsistency you can write an actual book, I’m just lazy. Pick one character at least. But if you truly believe in Fadel’s ep4 sudden falling in love unconditionally (when this whole site mind you thought that he was faking it lol) with Style and Kant’s feelings for Bison also believable to you, then to each their own. Our perception is different.

Inconsistency because he starts to tell one story than immediately drops it. The narration doesn’t flow at all. Characters just do things that are interrupted with random scenes from that 90s movie. We see character struggle with himself tremendously one episode, but the next it’s like not really, just kidding, we’re already telling another story. Character has major trust issues, oh wait he actually doesn’t. As First says you’re supposed to feel that Kant “also has feelings, not as heartless”, but as you see clearly people’s hearts struggle to get there and that’s the direction/storytelling’s fault, not Firsts. It’s not bc audience doesn’t understand that it’s bc of his parents, bc of his brother etc etc, it’s bc the director failed to engage the audience in this.

We can continue for a while about the fact that you don’t just drop things in the beginning just to resurface them in the end for the sake of “plot”, plot needs to flow. Not “hey mom is evil, check this shot of evil”, we’ll come back to it in ep12. Fadel has an ex, in this context it doesn’t matter, but just dropping it here randomly remember it for the finale. This is all not how you write stuff. Inconsistency bc you established that the building is full of police and then write how Fadel with one hand is gonna drag Style out of that building even tho he had no reasons or physical abilities to do this. Why do this scene at all? This is all just carelessness. Director doesn’t remember anything that happens before, dialogs contradict themselves, all is a mess. We’ve come to the point where an experienced director shoots a scene where a character just simply disappears from the frame.

I don’t know what really was happening on set, was it a rush or he just had to many ideas and decided to implement them all at once without thinking or his original ideas clashed with new ones, but that’s not it. It’s just some random salad carelessly thrown in. I love his love for aesthetics, I can see it here a lot, it seems to be working on some of that distracts ppl from cameraman in the shot, but to me no aesthetics can save badly written characters.

You’re lucky, enjoy :) I usually also don’t see any mistakes, especially when Joong is on screen, but this time it’s so in the face that even my pink glasses were stepped on haha

About ratings I don’t care, I care about comments and the fact that ppl trend things without thinking. There’s no such thing these days, where you can actually detect that show is naturally popular in Thai BLs. It’s really all about whose fandom is on top. They will trend any show doesn’t matter if it’s a hemorrhoids ad. That makes them think it’s okay to just release a hemorrhoids ads. No one will convince me that they’ve put actual effort in this. People cannot be serious. As a person who was in a film school I 100% know not caring when I see it. Even basic things they dgaf.

I want most people just stop for a second about the trending craze, sit down and actually just watch wtf they’re watching. I seriously think that people atp just randomly tweet about scenes with their faves, but do not see the creation at all. There is just no way you think it’s good.

I rest my case about director being unable to do more than one good show per year. I don’t know how you can do 3 in a year.

I’m sorry, but would there be no certain aesthetics and american culture reference, no way I would’ve guessed that this is jojo’s work. I haven’t seen such inconsistency for a while (even from imo the worst directors). It’s like okay character’s feelings development and actions make zero sense, it happens in many shows sadly, but basic human actions I thought he could at least direct. It’s really impossible to watch when you don’t even take into consideration what you wrote 2 seconds ago. What the hell happened, my dude? I’ve always been such a fan. Yeah, his works might not be perfect, but they always had soul to them, attention to details and character’s feelings and the directing was done really good. So seeing this after everything is just painful.

Also I don’t mind unrealistic stuff, but not in a way where soon characters are gonna be drinking from closed bottles. Couldn’t anyone on the team say that a normal human body is unable to do such things? Or that you can’t do some things with one hand? Or that you literally just wrote an entirely different thing just an episode ago? And a camera in the freaking shot????!

And trust me, I don’t take it seriously at all, I love unserious stuff. I dgaf like some about “unrealistic tattoos” and stuff, but not to the point where they clearly just don’t care. The editing, the sound, the writing, the music. Why god why. Been waiting for so long for JD to have an opportunity to finally be in a good show. For this to happen?

Like I’m happy so many are enjoying the show and it’s a success (I think?), but for me personally watching this show is so freaking sad. Many won’t understand this, but the fact that even with all of my bias I cannot overcome this says a lot.

I’m just thinking how aren’t you supposed to get better as a director with each work? How are you going backwards? I can accept all kinds of stupidity, but this is error on error with absolutely horrendously written everything. I am sorry.

Have nothing bad to say about Joongdunk or Firstkhao, you guys doing the best in what you’ve got. But imo this is awfully done not in terms of “it’s not my kind of show”, not bc I don’t like the genre or don’t understand that it’s “campy” or smth. I was open for any kind of things honestly. I’m saying it just because no one cared enough while making it. No one cared to write the characters or the plot. (Or they were just severely rushed maybe idk). It’s really just a bunch of references to American 90s movies and shows but not integrated into anything, but just thrown in. Now I’m scared how is he supposed to make three (!!) shows next year, if we can’t do one.

I get that you like american culture and 80s 90s references, I get that you like music, but that doesn’t mean that you need to shove all this in one place as much as possible without thinking just bc you wanted to shove it. And no, using 200 songs in 1 hour is not a great achievement. It’s a disaster, especially when the quality of the sound and transitions are so bad. Instead of this maybe it’s wiser to focus on characters and relationships development more instead of the “vibes”.

I don’t know what happened there really, but it pains me to see that we’ve come to this point tbh. I would pretend that I’m better than anyone who can accept anything their faves are in just bc they were waiting for a year for their show, but I’m actually sad about this development a bit. I’ve really lost this ability bc of a certain show in 2024 that traumatized me so badly that I don’t think it’s gonna come back.

I’m genuinely happy tho for ppl who are enjoying it and that more found out about joongdunk specifically bc I think their chemistry is really great, but sadly they have zero luck with shows they get. I’m starting to think it’s a curse.

Oh forgot also to say that I actually love me good NC when they’re intergraded into the plot and the characters very well, but imo NC scenes here are pretty wack. BDSM was lame ass and like if you can’t develop it, don’t do it at all imo and other scenes are also nothing special. Nowadays there are millions of beautifully done NC scenes very well choreographed in shows that are just slice of life and aren’t promoted as “spicy”.

Now I’ll accept all the “you won’t be missed” replies lol but I wasn’t here much in the first place, so it’s true. No one is gonna miss me lol it was just for the personal emotional release.

These support group scenes made him so unlikable to me, I really didn’t like that part at all. It’s not even funny to me. I love my flawed characters, but once they do something that makes me go “hell nah” and I stop liking them it’s a point of no return. Like I have different triggers. For example if a character hurts an animal it’s immediate goodbye for me, while I can easily like some character who killed 10 ppl lmao it’s just depends on things and context. I really don’t want Style to become unlikable to me, but if they continue writing him like this, it just might happen. And then I’ll already won’t even want him to be with Fadel lol and I really don’t want to feel that way. They better get a grip honestly, so far it’s all repetitive stuff that is not going anywhere, he has zero progress same as Kant and not even a glimpse of any dimension besides “I, me, mine”. At first it’s funny but it’s getting boring.

Oh I’ve seen all of the joongdunk shows, their chemistry is amazing even with the worst director of all (I won’t say who lol). And I even read all of the novels both about KluenDao and jokezoe. HA’s writing was also bad to me tho. The conflict there was weirdly done imo, well and the plot wasn’t there ofc it was just the relationship part I guess. My fav part there which I think to this day is iconic is their second kiss in front of Zo’s apartment. This was just chefs kiss, true cinema lol

I also think they’re gonna be talking about their plan, and I don’t see what can happen in this episode to turn the sex scene into a love scene honestly. even if Fadel showed some vulnerability (that is again will be weird in the scenario of the show rn), I don’t see how it would make Style immediately go “oh my baby” lmao

yes, you get me in this aspect. these scenes were supposed to have an impact and develop the relationships but instead here the character’s action and reaction cancel everything out. we’re taking one step forward, then two steps backs. the feeling of any growing affection is absolutely not there bc of that and that’s super sad to me bc according to many interviews apparently episode 5 is gonna be the last one in building up FS’s story of going from hate to love and that’s just not it to me tbh. not only I don’t feel any of that building up, but also with Style being in Kant’s plan now it makes everything icky.

and imo Style is definitely not any close to falling in love with Fadel in this episode, so I don’t see how the hell right after finding out that he is an assassin he suddenly is gonna become head over heels. Make it all make sense fr. They 100% royally f*cked up the relationship build up at this point, I don’t see any way of fixing it. that Kant & Style talk before FS next ep love scene must be something magical, bc my mega creative mind cannot come up with anything that they might say that can fix it, it must be in some unicorn language lol

yeah like it had some outdated cringe moments, but it did super great in the romance department. the show tho is failing miserably in the romance aspect in my opinion. the atmosphere is just not any “taming of the shrew” or “10 things I hate about you” sadly. feels like gossip girl vibes instead lmao a lot of who’s gonna outplay who and “scheming” faces, but romance is not romancing, it starts romancing but then they immediately erase it with something for no reason. and instead of natural progress, all that you feel is that each character is an disingenious biatch lol and like I’ll watch OF2 next year, I wanted another vibes haha

The theory is that Fadel does it bc he suspects Style and Kant, so he uses this tactics bc Style wouldn’t back off. I mean the book’s version of Fadel who was hooked on Style is not here, that version where after sleeping with him, he got obsessed. Here his head seems clear, after their 2nd time he said he still prefers his hand. I don’t see Style overdosing his brain to the point of no thinking. The look he gave him in the gym after Style sweating and his inability to lie seems like we don’t have much power over the dude tbh lol and that’s a pity imo

I wanted it to be an intense falling in love story with angst, not a bitchy manipulation games of who’s gonna win more lmao

Also forgot to say that tbh I wanted it to be more of a love stories thing and an actual ROMcom (closer to 10 Things I Hate About You and MamaGoGo), less Only Friends vibe of everyone manipulating and betraying everyone, but you can’t always get what you want, it’s ok. For me now that they turned Style into second Kant and possibly Fadel into also yet another manipulation for manipulation (if my eyes and some theories are correct), it really reminds me of the OF atmosphere rather than any romance. Many might like it, but I’m not a fan of such development tbh. My hope was that so it would be very far from OF vibes. Yet the atmosphere feels closer to the everyone scheming and being full of themselves than the romantic one.

I’ve seen ppl already saying how god forbid they make Fadel a hopeless romantic the way he was in the novel bc it’s “too unrealistic”. (As if all this killers shananigans are very realistically done lol). But I honestly do not get what would be wrong if they made them as romantic as in the novel. Shucks. To each their own though, I get it. I lose here, I will go cry in the corner, bc I don’t think I will recover from the personal disappointment of never ever getting that Style finding out that the love of his life is a killer scene. I will complain about it to everyone until the pain goes away.

I understand tho that many ppl like OF and these kinds of things which they call “more realistic”, but my reality is really different and as someone who gets off on feelings, it’s sad for me that I don’t feel any warmth blooming here. Bc you gotta agree that the novel’s feeling of Style making this bet, then falling madly in love, his regret and that culmination of him finding out about Fadel that’s a romcom vibe. But Style making that bet, being proud of himself that he made Fadel fall for him, finding out that he’s a killer and deciding to play him again… that’s already a whole another tone. I’m probably bad at explaining but it’s more of “Cruel Intentions” vibes for now (also a bet about seducing someone and a bet on a car too lol, but that movie has quite cold vibes while “10 things I hate about you” is warm for example, it’s just different vibes). Like MamaGo has warm vibes, OF has cold vibes. Does anyone get me? lol

And I just remember how I was so happy after reading it bc I thought “oh it’s gonna be this type of show but now it’s not and it’s not anyone’s fault, but like I personally wish the vibe was different lol And I still feel that making two different genres of stories was very deceiving. Bc many ppl who prefer less romantic genre don’t like highly romantic genre and vice versa. They should’ve kept it same imo. OF is just not my type of show, so anything with its vibes is turning me off. At least if I knew I’d prepare myself for this better and had other expectations. If Fadel is gonna join the scheming squad, I’ll cry tbh. It just doesn’t suit him imo. OF lovers would win tho for sure. So congrats to those who love these types of shows. And what I definitely don’t wanna see is the dynamics of Joong chasing after Dunk who shies away from him again. The moment of them getting together was anticlimactic as it is and now we have Style running away from him, while mushy Fadel is being mooshy. Damn, will we really not see that scene of first time he cried too? I really don’t get why they hate intense things. Lukewarm is the new fad for sure. 100% we’re not getting the pointing the gun and Style crying in his arms “how dare you threaten me, don’t ever leave me” scene 😭😭😭 I so wanted all that!!! They’re so so epic there, my heart jumped so freaking much and here it’s like., blah

All I can say is poor fans of the series who are going to buy a novel and poor fans who read the novel first and got that in terms of relationships.

That’s a personal opinion, but I think it was a mistake to turn everyone’s relationship in the same direction. Now Style is same as Kant and also knows the truth and plays with Fadel’s heart. Now he also same as Kant is afraid of Fadel. Why we need two of those idk. I truly think it’d be a much better idea if we same as in the book had different things going on and FadelStyle would be different. Fadel didn’t have to be same as Bison and be ok with one night stands. I think it was super fun how he got obsessed with Style and couldn’t get enough of him the first time they slept together and how Style was super in love with him and needy. Now it’s the zzzz dynamics of “I’m fine with getting myself off” and Style is scared of him being close? Nah.

Reading a book was a total mistake on my part. Bc then you expected all those long awaited epic FadelStyle get together that was on fire and that fire moment of Style finding out that he is an assassin, which is again so anticlimactic and boring here. Why did they make a novel so different idk. First time I’m seeing this happening with GMM’s original shows/books. Like it’s an original thing dude, write it the same way. Why the hell would you sell ppl thing that basically has nothing to do with the show. It’s not like it’s an adaptation of an author’s story written way before. Tsk. How to clear my head and watch it without what I’ve read. It’s like everything is so toned down here. So far I can see a lot of comedy and having fun watching this, but the intensity is just not there for me.

Saw a lot of ppl be like “I can’t wait for this moment where Fadel goes after Style bc he misses him so much” ahahahaha joke is on us tf did we read this. Waiting for the epic moment when Style finds out that Fadel is a killer? LMAO nah again just joking

it’s true that he hates being attracted to him and doesn’t want it to be like that, but the whole point is that he still IS and there’s nothing he can do about, hence the disappointment with himself when he jerked off to him, he considers it a weakness, but can’t fight it. same was when in this episode he watched him undress in the kitchen, he was clearly drooling and was surprised with his own reaction. I won’t spoil anything from the book but that part was the same aka he couldn’t fight it and hated himself for this. HE COULDNT fight it. Bc once you want someone you can’t just turn this off. That’s what Style did to him. Not seeing the building up and the fact that he wants him is wild to me, but I guess we all watch differently.

Again as I’ve written below even if I watch this scene from your point of view aka he somehow magically pretended he was on another planet and not with his dick inside of the person he really wanted, then all that kissing was out of place. If he wanted so badly to make him go away, he should’ve just as you said coldly f*ck and go, but the scene was just weirdly done imo. It wasn’t reflecting even what you’re saying either.

That’s fine, I just again after reading expected super intensity and again I’m in the same place I’m usually in lol I hope it’ll change, but with this development it’s kinda impossible to return to that climactic point, that was in the book the fact that he got so insane he couldn’t NOT fuck him.
