The title is literally “Trainee. Can I have a permission to love you, Phi?”

I really do not understand what you’re talking about, bc any show with assembly cast has a poster with all of them together. It would be really bizarre if “Friends” poster would be Ross & Rachel in the front and everyone else in the back. You can check “We Are” poster too.

GMM knew very well what they were doing here. And I know for a fact that it’s not unintentional, bc recently they specifically changed Kidnap title to more romantic one so it wouldn’t mislead ON delulu. So giving the show title “Trainee. Can I love you (my Phi specifically)?” is not nice in my opinion. It’s really not a show about Ryan’s love story with his Phi. They shouldn’t have given it this title in the first place then.

For me specifically those things rarely matter, bc I watch all the different things of different genres and I don’t pick specific type of shows tbh (at times I even like when I get something unexpected instead), but many people do pick specifically what kind of show they want to watch and I get why you would be upset if you hoped to watch a romcom but get a documentary instead for example. This is just really not nice. I’m sure there are a bunch of people who tunes in every week to see JaneRyan and each time are left with almost nothing. In some situations I do say “your expectations are your own problem”, but in this specific case it’s really not. No need to gaslight yourself.

The title, the poster and the trailer should’ve been different. “Trainees” is a r perfect title for it and all the trainees should be on the same level upfront in that case. No need to catfish it as a romantically driven show.

I understand the desire to defend it (I had that too) and we all know what assemble cast show is, but saying that it was promoted this way and didn’t try to mislead ppl is very untrue.

The screen time is not shared by all characters evenly, Bahmee gets the majority of it. Pie we almost do not see at all tbh.

The poster has Offgun front and center and everyone else on the background. Assemble cast shows don’t do this. The trailer also was mainly focused on Offgun. It simply GMM trying to use the fandom and make them watch the show. It doesn’t really matter that the show is good (I still think it’s really good fr), it’s just the fact that they mislead ppl.

It’s okay to admit it, fair game would be put Bahmee in the center and JaneRyan a bit further away, but everyone knows they wouldn’t do that, bc that way not as many ppl would tune in.

Idk where you saw the screen time being spread evenly between all the trainees, it’s really not imo. Even the name of the show “Trainee. Can I have a permission to love you?” that is written above Offgun is clearly about Ryan. The show is not called “Trainees. Struggles of getting your first job”

You’re not at all hearing what I’m saying. Usually people who don’t talk their feelings out, don’t get involved in conflicts and don’t try in general, get nothing. It’s good that the girl he likes confessed to him and that White got him in one group with her in the first place. It works in a comic for teens okay, I won’t argue with that, but fr people who do nothing, get nothing. It’s just his life works. Nothing wrong tho with you liking him being uninvolved (or as you say “trying to survive”) and getting everything. It’s what most ppl want, for everything to come to them :) You can like it for what it is, I’m not trying to convert you here lol As I said nothing is wrong with “simple”

Jane and Ryan really steal the show, I’m having the 2nd lead couple syndrome… Wait, it was supposed to be their show 🤣💀

I take back what I said before, so little time makes zero sense to me. I thought once they were done with Bamhee we will be able to finally move one to Ryan and Jane, but each episode they continue with Bamhee and it seems like in the next episode they still continue with this. Maybe initially someone got it wrong, idk why it says here that they are mains and Bamhee is supportive, screen time says otherwise for sure, I actually decided to check it for fun. It’s a good written/shot show, but the promo is misleading. Maybe they should’ve called it “TraineeS” at least and didn’t promote it as BL. BL is a bit different from a show with BL elements. If you combine JaneRyan scenes altogether it’s gonna be hardly a one 40-minutes episode.

The show’s quality is good but again it’s just not what anyone thought it would be. And I’m a bit confused why they did that. Is it bc they thought no one would tune in if they said the truth? I’m very confused with GMM lately tbh. I understand the strategy here, but viewers are also people. I mean, I don’t regret watching this at all, but why can’t they just sell things for what they are?

Also idk if I’m alone in this but I don’t actually think that Bamhee is in love with Judy. I think she just met the first person who gave her some attention and after not getting any and it being her insecurity, she just jumped the first person who took a bit care of her. And now she’s confusing it with a crush. Like I really don’t see what gl romance people are talking about, she needs to sort herself out first, this whole thing is not romantic at all. She won’t be able to start a new healthy relationship now.

Jane going down (I said what I said lol) on Ryan every episode makes my brain go to dirty places, especially with him saying “be a good boy and I’ll show you” 🌚 And his calm voice is very hot. That’s all. I wish the show was about them, I really enjoy their scenes so much. I get why they always end the episode with them as a dessert but it’s a crime.

In conclusion I don’t feel like they’re useless scenes there, all character’s communications are great and their closure to things are very nice, but I still do not get why would they make such a confusing thing. I wouldn’t have any complaints if they redid the poster and promotion for what it is. But since they lied again, I think it’s valid that many people would be pissed. I tried to protect it two episodes ago, bc it’s completely okay to give other characters one-two episodes of being able to shine, I have zero problems with that, but not a whole show lol

Ngl the level of intensity was not on the level that I created in my mind. But my imagination really always goes overboard and things rarely can keep up. The trailer was fine for me, it didn’t kill my hype, but didn’t make it bigger either. I’m excited to see how it’ll go.

I’m that weirdo who didn’t care for BB, but also Ohm’s solo projects like 10 years ticket and Double Savage also gave me zero emotional investment, so I’ve never been into all of this Ohm Pawat hype sadly and I’m just hoping here that maybe OhmLeng pairing will sway me idk. I’m curious if it will work for me or not.

I’m also kinda hoping this will finally break this absolute snooze fest that GMM has been having this year. The only thing I’m enjoying from them this year is Trainee, but despite loving it, it’s still way too tame for my liking. I hope with Kidnap, then Pluto, then The Heart Killers we will finally maybe enter the era of more intense things with actual plots, bc that’s the type of shows that I prefer the most. Bring me the all the fire emotions pls.

Oh I get your point very well, but it’s more about views on life than being bias. in the past when all of that happened from what we saw (many the will show more next time) he seems to just drop his previews gf bc he was scared and he didn’t do anything to fight (I don’t mean physically) his traitor friend, he just accepted all that, same he did when he moved. of it wasn’t for white nothing in his life would’ve changed and he wouldn’t get close to star either. For your life view he does enough, imo he floats in life and doesn’t go anything basically. I just do not like these types of people. Although that is the majority of population lol. It’s kinda like being team Wei Wuxian and team Jiang Chen. I get both, but I will never be team second one lol

About shipping, it’s also not about BL, when straight ship is my type I’m all for it, idk how this will go obviously but it’s seen already that with Star it’s exactly how the show itself described it, it’s “simple and comfy”, but it doesn’t make him grow much and doesn’t add any challenge. 100%, if you watch it for what it is it’s just super boring, plus Star doesn’t add anything to Lune, she only pampers him, it’s White who pushes him to become a better version of himself :) Ivy same as Lune sees Star for her real self, so if that’s all that she needs then they’re exchangeable lolz

this show is very cliche so we ofc get all that, this doesn’t change the fact though that he was a coward and stayed a coward. I just prefer people who fight for what they love. all this trauma is very understandable and all and it’s normal for a high school show, doesn’t change the fact that he chose trust to fight back, but that is where my shipping comes in, bc I think it’s gonna be white who would make him want that, star has zero impact on him tbh, he can only be like a mom and soothe him, but not challenge him to be better imo

I didn’t want this to happen but I actually do not like Lune so far. White is just so honest, I mean, it’s seen that he genuinely likes Lune and he really tried so many times to make him confess about his feelings for Star. Star is right, he’s smarter than people think. It was shown many times that he noticed that Lune has feelings for Star, that’s why he kept asking Lune even after he told him first time that he didn’t. In the pool he really was like “You sure? You SURE sure?” She is also right about White being very kind. No way he would’ve been mad if Lune just told him the truth. There was really no need to lie continuously 😒

Ivy is also correct, White seems to be the bravest of the bunch. Star is the second I think. I stan those who are honest about their feelings. Yes, for a moment it hurts to tell truth if the other doesn’t feel the same, but at least you’ve tried. If you don’t feel the same way, it’s also the best to tell it asap and not drag.

I didn’t get the part about flowers meaning being paralleled to Star’s feelings for each of them. Ivy understandable “loyal friend”, but then they showed that White to her associated with “falling in love whole-heartedly”, but Lune is “simplicity and peacefulness”??? lol shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Anywho imo as usual when it comes to hetero high school romances, the main couple is absolute zzzz to me. Everyone else’s dynamics seem more interesting to me than them.

Also it’s nice and all, but the trope of a rich kid of whom parents require too much for the image or not pay enough attention to them and only their bestie and love interest see “THE REAL THEM” is getting boring already in any show nevermind hetero or bl.

And I’ve been away from teen school dramas for a while now, but pls tell me is it really even after 10 years the type of the main character haven’t changed at all and is still “but I’m not like normal people, I jump at concerts and fangirl”… 😯😧 next scene is gonna be “but I’m not like other girls I eat burgers with my hands” 😱🤣

This would be a blast for me when I was 15, but I’m not sure I’ll keep watching. The cast is very adorable though, everyone suits their role so well and is very charming. The groups chemistry is incredible too, they might as well all date eo, no one would be mad.

Sadly even from the trailer all the “who is gonna end up with whom was seen”, it’s not like I expected element of surprise, but I kinda hoped they would make it more interesting as in making us root for unconventional couples or something. Instead it’s like “yeah Ivy has feelings for Star, but is gonna end up with White”, “Ryu is in denial about his feelings for Dunk but is gonna end up with Slytherin guy”. I wish there would be idk something more interesting. Is it the trailer’s fault that it’s all been already known or is the comics itself is just very basic cliche idk.

My only hope is the villain arrival. I really hope Myme will bring smth interesting in the dynamics.

But yeah so far White is definitely my favorite. Also Dunk is really so charming here. And he has great chemistry with everyone for real. I’m kinda impressed.

None of the scenes here were actually useless. And surprisingly all of this is actually connected to showcase main characters. There’s a reason Ryan realizing his feelings and Ba Mhee realizing her feelings for their superiors was paralleled. Judy’s behavior will highlight Jane’s character. It is called contrast. I can ofc explain each parallel, metaphor etc, but I feel like if someone is not into such things and just want the style of writing like we usually get of “chew this and put it in my mouth” with tons of useless fillers that lead to nothing and have no purpose to the plot or the characters, besides them just being on screen and shallow, there’s no need to explain this. Those who get it get it. It’s all beautifully logically puzzled. You can show characters through other people too, that’s a very useful and incredible technic. You don’t have to always do it with them being directly on screen. It’s called good writing, that’s how people get invested in things.

I know to each their own and it’s not nice to be mad, but it triggers me all the time how some people really prefer dumb things over thinking at least for 5 seconds while watching, that’s why we can’t have nice things and are constantly watching stuff that’s written for babies in diapers, “look a banana” style lol

yes!!! I’m just a huge fan of how he noticed his feelings, analyzed them, accepted them and then just spoke them. and in the next episode it seems like he stands his ground, no denying, it’s very refreshing and brave tbh. ppl say he’s immature in life experience aspect, but 90% of people are actually more immature than him in the emotional aspect, denying, not recognizing, not accepting and not processing their feelings correctly. the way he talks to himself might be hilarious but he actually sorts it all out for himself and it’s an incredible skill that therapist are teaching people for a large amount of money lol

I’ve seen many people say that Ryan is useless and annoying, but is anyone else on board with me who thinks he’s very weirdly honest in a kind of way that I find endearing? I mean yes, he’s super dumb for many things, but the fact that he’s like “well yeah I was too busy being jealous so I didn’t listen to the important info and almost killed several people” is a bit hilarious. I’m not laughing at negligence or risking ppl’s lives, but he’s so sincere about his emotions, it’s like he’s in his own fairy land. The butterflies in the morning really added to my vision of him behaving like Giselle from Enchanted lmao

Like even when everyone was mad about a guy clearly scamming him and it was like obviously stupid, I didn’t feel negativity, I thought that probably in the future episodes his genuine sincerity and naivety might just be applied for something great. I know most see it from the perspective of practicality, but at times people like Jane who are all very proper and like “all job, be professional, do by the manual” (which I also think is extremely hot btw) need that silly magical view on the world. Bc Ryan he’s really all about FEELINGS you know, his feelings are everywhere, he’s that one who would daydream in the supermarket, start dancing and accidentally hit someone in the face lol

And he’s actually just honestly saying what he likes without even thinking. I for example hate people who you know pretend to like some “deep” movies while secretly enjoying some “trashy” ones just to look cool. I also always openly admit if I like garbage shows and it’s all out in the open hanging on the walls for all the people I know in my life to see.

So yeah I’m just saying that his head is definitely floating most of the time in some places, but his unicorn land state of mind is more charming than annoying to me. Like sometimes it is annoying yes, but mostly I would 100% want him as my bestie. He’s weird in the best possible way, sometimes dangerous to be around though lol. The way he just drops dinner, bc he thought “oh I want to buy my love cookies” and refuses to give the last one to the kid bc I agree just bc you’re a kid doesn’t mean you need it more, Jane goes first lol I just think people like this bring joy into life. That’s why Jane also began smiling randomly “like a lunatic”, bc I think yes in today’s life we all need that. More feelings, less thinking, you know. So basically they’re a perfect combo in my opinion. One is super rational, the other is super irrational.

As a master of sarcasm graduated from the Sarcasm university I can safely say that saying that you’ll shave someone’s head because they stole your job isn’t a sarcasm, but to each their own haha
