Any recommendations for their favorite Luo Yun Xi role? I discovered him in Princess Silver and he's ethereal and just bewitching. Looks like And the Winner is Love is his main historical role, but reviews are quite mixed (should I watch??). Ashes of Love is highly rated but he's not the main. Modern dramas don't tempt me unless I REALLY like the actor. A lot of his upcoming roles look great though.
both are from different novels why would u think that
You are so funny! But I discovered there’s an advantage in this package deal, because I’m a huge fan of Han Cheng yu, who is in almost all of Cheng yi’s dramas. I like both actors, but Han Chen yu does not have many lead roles.
Li xuan (dance of the sky emperor) is also funny , mischievous, friendly, and playful character. He is One of…
I just finished Dance of the Sky empire and loved it! I wanted to watch Lingjian mountain but it sounds like it has a cliffhanger ending. Can I watch it and still enjoy the first season? Or is there a certain place to stop before getting to the cliffhanger (a workaround on cliffhanger seasons). I'd love to know. I've become a Xu Kai fan now. :)
Can I know why you dropped Legend of Fei? I thought I want to give it a try since I'm curious to see Yibo in different…
Most of the scenes are shot on sound stages, including the many forest scenes, so according to AvenueX (on youtube) it's a kind of production that would have happened a few years ago. But I liked the costumes a lot, including Wang Yibo's. And the main couple's relationship is interesting.

I really liked Wang Yibo's performance and character in the drama. I think the old-style production quality and the many side-plots and side-characters are why it gets criticism. For me, Wang Yibo and Fei's relationship is the heart and soul of the story, you could really skip most everything else and get a satisfying story out of their plot.
The reason I can’t finish the love and redemption is because of the FL constantly calling Si Feng’s name in…
Agreed, I like the actress but she deserved a better character. however, I did enjoy the last 24 episodes, having gotten that far I could understand the stakes in order to enjoy the end.
Love and Redemption, anyone? The high rating shows that it really depends on people's taste and what they want out of a drama, those who loved it must really love it, but I found it highly enfuriating.
The Queen’s Thief series is one of my most favorite ever!
Haha, I knew there must be some MWT fans here who would see my comment. Truly, I recommend the series to everyone I can. And a lot of Queen of Attolia reminds me of Chinese dramas. In fact, Stand by Me starring Cheng Yi made me think of Queen of Attolia/King of Attolia so much, except the young oppressed emperor is an Irene-like character in personality.

I've added this drama to my list, hearing everyone else talk about it so much. I've started Arsenal Military academy, and though the plot doesn't grab me, Xu Kai's character is refreshing. I just can't get a hold of the stakes of the story.
Thank you so much for this article! I love cold and aloof male leads in Cdramas but the funny, mischievous and…
Same, which was why I havne't been able to get through Legend of the Condor heroes. The main is intentionally not the most intelligent character, so I just can't get into it. He's nice and all, but I prefer someone with a dark past and lots of intelligence.
lovely article!! Joy of Life has been on my ptw for awhile soo hopefully I can finally check it out next year!!…
I am haunting the Joy of Life 2 threads, so recent news is they should start filming in Q1 of 2022. Probably won't release until 2023. And the end is a big cliffhanger, but I love the series so much I'm glad I didn't wait.
Oh man, reading your article down the list suddenly I realized I still have Young Blood for a looong time in my…
Young Blood is soooo good! I just finished it today when I was hankering for something like Joy of Life, which has the same scriptwriter. It's a great story, which does have a cliffhanger type-ending, but I was fine with it because I know season 2 is coming. The arc of season 1 was wrapped up well, but there's a final scene that is the cliffhanger part, like the end of a book in a series. If you really can't wait, then you could wait until 2022 when season 2 is supposed to air. But I'm glad I watched it now. I think you'll love the main character!
First of all, your description of The Untamed is the most accurate and intriguing of any summaries of the show I've seen: the story revolves around WW's story, and his mischevious and care-free personality make his dramatic journey all the more painful for viewers. I was going to mention Young Blood, but you beat me to it! And Fan Xian is an excellent main lead, casual and rarely flummoxed by anything.
I'm reminded of Ang from Avatar the Last Airbender, the trickster character being the main hero. The writers of the series mentioned that such a lead is quite rare, and I've learned to love this kind of character, who often seems to not take on responsibility, who has a cheerful personality, but is loyal to friends and stands up for the weak, and grows to become a great hero. It's especially satisfying to see a trickster character (Wei Wuxian being one of them) showing awesome skills, intelligence, and charisma while fighting enemies.
For book readers, Gen in Megan Whalen Turner's Queen's Thief series is the perfect trickster character, with lots of hidden secrets and emotioinal depth to him. The first book is The Thief and I recommend it to everyone in the world! The full series of 6 books have a lot of things C-drama viewers should enjoy, including a charismatic and talented main lead, who seems to want to do nothing but steal things and look down on everyone.
Just finished season 1 and it's so good! As a fan of the screenwriter, I finally sat down to watch this and it didn't disappoint. It really helped to know season 2 is on the way. And so glad they will have the same cast returning.
I feel bad for Su Xiao Tong. She seems to get casted as the innocent idiot too often. While I've only seen half…
While watching her, I had a thought that she could play a live-action Tohru from Fruits Basket, if you've ever seen/read that. I agree that she's a very unusual innocent character.
At least Xiao Zhan has nice commercials recently, like Ralph Lauren's fragrance. https://www.instagram.com/p/CXH72w1rzls/And…
I was also pretty surprised when he brought up Gu Wei! Also hoping for good things regarding that project, we'll have to see what happens when it airs.
is it incomplete or at least they wrpapped up the season 1 well?
I would say it gives a complete ending to the season 1 story arc. it leaves you in a moment that is clearly leading to the next story, after the climax, so I could consider the final scene almost like an epilogue that sets up season 2. So not a real cliffhanger. I wouldn't delay watching just because of that.
