All I can say after watching episode 19 that XZ really knows how to act. A drama addict for 5 years now, I'm not one that needs to grab emergency tissues but....there were scenes that were just so beautifully raw and emotional. I know that XZ truly embodies the character he portrays by immersing himself in the role, which can be emotionally and mentally draining....it's just impossible not to cry along with him in episode 19 when he realizes his platoon leader is truly gone. I means it's absolutely impossible. I need to dig up some bts because I'm so curious about how they prepared for these scenes.

Awesome look into the future of the show, Zhan Zhan is such an amazing actor.

It's no Ultimate Note in terms of bromance but it's still definitely there for me! I love making bromance edits on youtube and I would definitely edit this series if it wouldn't get copyright blocked lol but thats just me.

We really don't know his side if the story. It might not have been his own idea to remove things anyways. He wouldn't have posted it in the first place if he was ashamed of his role :)

I feel that today's society may not fully understand what romance really meant in historical times. There wouldnt be passionate embraces and countless lip locks. I find it very believable.

I absolutely adore this drama. So much negativity in the comments really leaves me speechless. There is a beautiful subtlety to the character development and the scenery and music is just breathtaking. I don't consider it draggy or boring or simple. It is on my top 5 list of dramas to re-watch. The storyline alone is so refreshing. I've watched hundreds of asian dramas and so many have lifeless or over produced tropey storylines. Full stars for originality.

No, no I'm here too! I agree with you. Here for Joonie, his story is fascinating, raw, and pretty unusual for a standard drama plot line.

Re watching because it is just sooooo good. Chen Xiao is an amazing actor, his face, eyes, expressions, body language, toward Jing Tian are so believable and addictingly subtle. Lip locks are easy, but what he delivered I found far more satisfying. And yes, it is full of adventures. Hello. Why I love watching. If I wanted realistic and normal that I could relate to (which everyone seems to be spouting about) I'd just take out my binoculars and sit at the window. No thank you. It's called a drama because its a drama. Top 5 for me with The Untamed and Evernight xoxoxo

I loved Dance of the Sky Empire. It was comedic, dramatic, it made me cry, and I ended up quite happy ?

LoA started choppily and I was disappointed but it really turned around a few epsiodes in. I ended up absolutely loving it in the end. Evernight would be hard to replicate as it was SO good. I hope this drama falls somewhere in between these two! :) :)

I agree with you 100 percent❤ Mutual respect❤ and who rates dramas down based on a "surprising lack of resemblance to an animated character"....it just isnt fair to the cast, the crew, or the fans....?

Yes! Honestly, some of us are really enjoying this, there is a bit too much whining for my taste ? and one can't expect a human to accomplish everything an animated character does, anyways. It's already produced, it is what it is, and I shall watch every last episode ?? before repeating ?

Xiao Zhan's portrayal of Tang San is not creature like..but I won't comment again on this, just saying....maybe choose your words a little more kindly. We are all here as fans of in some way or another.
