I don't think XL is the reason for him not approaching her much now. Maybe it's because he sees through XY that it is not always necessary that he should be the one giving in or he should be the one to listen to whatever small fights YE throws out. It might be because XY shows him that he can be also in the receiving end. Maybe he doesn't feel she puts in enough effort as the novel feeling of having the sparks are getting faded.
Yes, he shouldn't have outright clashed with YE knowing her behavioural tendencies. Even keeping quiet would have been better. But for one he was already drained with MM inviting him as well. He was overthinking as usual. So I think it just flamed the fans. Also it looks like HW is not really a big fan of flaunting the relationship or such gestures which looks is something YE wants.
Maybe she expected more from him after he was ready to thrown the coin for her and be the first one to so.
Two, there is miscommunication is the biggest enemy in their relationship. She never really told what she expects from him neither did he.

You are telling he doesn't care about her feelings. The only thing why he hasn't still stopped going after her is probably because he takes her feelings into consideration and the first spark he had. But have you seen her taking his feelings into consideration? She said she's insecure. So is CHW, that too from childhood. He's already an insecure person and he still goes after her eventhough she doesn't really take any steps towards their future. So I think he gives her more than enough face.
Like you said CHW is someone who cares about his friends and family and hence he might give them importance. From what he has told about his past he is more of sentimental guy so asking him to abandon and not interact with others much just because you want him to concentrate only on you is not fair. She herself has moments where she missed hearing HW call her or him coming to her to find her only with others specifically XL. So doens't she consider his feelings with him seeing her with another person?
I really don't see them lasting long if they did end up together because simply their interests or how they want the other to respond to their feelings conflict.
At this point, her best choice would be XL according to her needs.

If a relationship wants you change who are you completely just to satisfy the needs of the person involved, it's not worth it. She's asking HW to do things when she herself does nothing. It's not fair at all. If she wants "princess" treatment like upstairs told, she should go for someone who can give it to her like Xilun. This so called competition that she wants may bring her satisfaction but at the same moment she's making 2 guys especially HW uncomfortable. Also if she just wanted to see his determination, she already did when he asked for starryroom date. What she's asking of HW would just harm their relationship in a long way because HW is someone who likes to consider those around him. If she's thinking that HW doesn't consider her feelings maybe she should reflect whether she has done anything to make him consider her more.
Also if it's like you said that she's just not cutting XL off because of the competition she wants, then she's literally just playing XL for her satisfaction. This doesn't make me think better about her at all.
