Fascinating beginning with some memorable butterflies inducing scenes

This series features an angsty master-servant relationship that occurs during a very interesting and critical part of Thai history, in between WWI and WWII. At a time where social class gap is still overtly present in Thai society, can love blossom between a Prince and his servant in the palace ? This in a nutshell the journey through which the series is going to take the viewer. The beginning properly fascinated me, and if I think the writing could have been better on some of the turning point and the way it wrapped up the series, I am still very satisfied with the overall show.

The cast did a good job at portraying character living through very melodramatic situations. Some of the secondary characters had roles that were pretty caricatural but it remained som what believable and connected. Pond, who had probably the least likeable character of the series, was for example disturbingly convincing in the part. The main actors, Ongsa and Inn, had also a great chemistry together, showcasing extremely well the yearning and pining for each other of their characters. There are a couple of scenes where I wish they would have given more but overall they did amazing.

Production wise, they did good with some memorable scenes but I couldnt help to feel a bit the lack of budget on some of the more historical scenes. It was enough to showcase the action scenes despite the obvious limitations. The soundtrack was alright overall but I don't think any song will really remain memorable for me.

I would recommend this to people looking for a captivating and dramatic romance. If you like master-servant relationship and historical melodramatic context, you really need to give this one a try because it will take you on a deliciously angsty journey. Especially thanks to its beginning, full of turmoil of feelings !
