When time travel meets terrible writing..
I love time travel plots, but this one was just plain dumb. The ML travels 1000 years into the future to find a princess (or her lookalike or her time twin~who knows anymore?). Cool idea, right? But once he lands in the modern world, he’s shockingly chill about, you know, everything. No amazement at cars, buildings, or phones—dude’s just like, “Meh, where’s my princess?” Either he’s super focused or the writer forgot he’s from the past. Zero chemistry between leads, and the story is stuffed with pointless filler characters. If boredom was a drama, this would be it. Hard pass. Was this review helpful to you?
Can't take it as of now
The drama is good seriously... The story line is a complex murder mistery which might cater to the taste of lots of people out there ( including mine) , but the execution is really boring.there are but very very less amount of light hearted moments to contrast seriousness of the story. I wish they concluded more of that.. may be someday I will pick it again and finish watching it but as of now I am dropping it ... People who have low threshold for seriy and monotonous can skip on it.Was this review helpful to you?
What a steaming pile of horseshit it was ...
We come across a lot of bad dramas.. but if you find the one that has everything that you possibly hate then a ranking or even 1 star feels very extra ...Okay let's begin instead of writing boring paragraph I will put the entire review in points ..
1) below average/ average looking ML ... Say he is not bad looking but not very impressive either ... Flat face .. aloof expressions and annoyed ng character these are the things I can't tolerate in leads especially ML ..
2) the story is old fashioned ... There was absolutely nothing new about this story ..even the punches were old ... I expect scriptwriter/storywriter to atleast put something original or of their own ...but to my disappointment the dramas looks like someone wrote it by copying multiple drama script ..
3) unnecessary misunderstandings in leads and showing ML as Sigma FL as some annoying silly villager ... In my opinion this is the biggest turn off ...these days intelligent smart and independent FL are more in trend ... This story tried to deliver such FL character in the beginning after 2-3 episode she just turned some pushover ... Who has absolutely no self respect ...who forgives ML too easily ... Who has no regards for her dignity ...who keeps throwing herself on ML even when he clearly rejects her hints ... I HANDS DOWN CAN NEVER SUGGEST A DRAMA WHERE ML OR FL CHARACTER DONT DISPLAY A STRONG AND VALUABLE CHARACTER.
4)the flow of the plot which was very abrupt ... Like they are fighting like crazy in the one scene and they act all normal having dinner with each other in the next scene. Build up to connect the dots was very much missing and quite clearly visible
5) there was a lot of unnecessary screentime wasted on stupid scene. : you can literally sit on the skip button while watching it there were so much nonsense in between.
6) No SML : this story highly demands SML as the FML has a very introvert and secretive character to establish his character there is always a need to add a contrasting character that helps build a lot of sense to the story ... For example it help highlight the chemistry between FL ML
7) I slept like 4 times in between
8) no chemistry in lead

No spark, No sense ... No thanks
Very weird story, honestly. I still can’t figure out whether it’s the soggy plot, the mediocre acting, or the completely flat chemistry between the leads. (And babe, let’s be real — moaning while kissing does not equal chemistry.) Whatever it is, this drama just couldn’t keep me hooked.I’ll give it this though: I felt strangely satisfied with the way the redhead and that despicable husband ended. They deserved every bit of it.
But one thing left me totally confused — how does a woman wicked enough to seduce her best friend’s husband and push him into letting his wife die suddenly turn into an innocent fool being manipulated by her toxic parents? Like… what? How does that character transition make any sense? Even my last three brain cells are protesting
Everything else is just… meh. Capital M. Lowercase eh.
ML: I genuinely couldn’t understand what this guy wants. Nothing is clearly stated, at least up to the episodes I watched.
Played by Jin Ze ~ handsome, sure. He looks like Park Hyung-sik’s long-lost brother. Acting-wise… okay-ish. Definitely not his A-game.
FL: Confused and foolhardy. She behaves overconfident even though she has zero ability to get herself out of the messes she walks into.
Played by Tiffany Gao ~~ sweetheart, she cannot play a seductress. The script said she’s seductive, that’s the only reason the men acted seduced. Her constant blank stare, half-open mouth, sleepy eyes, absent-minded vibe… who is getting seduced by that? And yet so many people praise her performance. I don’t get it.
Their chemistry? Zzzzz. 🥱
No buildup, no tension, nothing. Their romance felt like two mannequins politely bumping into each other.
Even the overall aesthetics scream low budget.
Yeah… sorry. Dropping it.

Fl is a reputed army general, protecting the border of her country for 8 years and has a shiny record ..but she doesnt know that her trustee deputy general is actually the younger prince who joined the army to gain himself some merits to become crown prince .. the day his identity is revealed ..entire army along with the general are butchered in cold by the king and other ministers to 'tame the crown prince' they say.. FL meanwhile thinking he betrayed his brothers in army and vows to revenge. okay so far ... but i dont understand how come these chinese FL who are shown as glorified heroes turn into a complete disaster with every episode .. five minutes ago she is a general vowing to die for her revenge now she is going head on into the enemies' territory like a fool to kill them (like generals dont know how attacks, coups and ambush are taken care of in the palaces) and the other minute she is kiss-convincing the ML into if she can kill his father.. seriously cant you just give your hormones a break ... and the ML .. my god ..what a wuss... very shameless existence to say the least ... TOTALLY FLAT DOWN THERE ... he shows like he is not selfish or greedy for the crown and he is all about love for his army brothers and his woman, both executed by his tyrant father but he still keep saving him and rescuing him on multiple occasions... i dont know what exactly he delivered in these 13 episodes i watched ... honestly speaking any person standing beside such loser is fated to doom ...i understand there is niche audience for such characters but i personally hate hate them as these characters dont add any value to the story .. i mean see even when this one he saved FL is by planting other innocent woman on her place..wow !! so creative !!!! i must say .... ***and here i dropped the series .. cause at this point i was sure i can see more heroism, content and creativity in TELETUBBIES than this drama .
Not recommending ...

The rating of 8.1 on this drama is debatable
Ok where to begin with ... Let's go from bad to worstCast (bad): not a fan of ML i watch his shows from time to time but so far nothing impressed me. He doesn't look very lead material to me. The second ML/villain has distinctive looks but as such nothing felt extraordinarily good about his acting or character. FL is good despite her poor written character she kept the show alive solely by her acting and spontaneity.
Characters (worse) : every character from lead to villain to side characters is weak and poorly written. None of them is convincing even in the least or have any impactful projection. All of them just living their own arc of stupidity. Lead female character messed up a big deal but did nothing even after knowing her mistake .. ML got his life destroyed by FL but still can't think of any confrontation instead as soon as meets FL again he forgets what a fucked up life he was living for last nine years. Apart from this we have emotionally challenged mother and son duo on the lose. A teacher who keeps making cheap passes on fellow teacher. A teacher who is making pass on his students mother a mother whose son can study good is literally playing with entire parent association. As if it wasn't enough that we see the ML passing flying kisses and love letters to FL
Literally while sitting in the classroom - Disgusting!!! I mean man you aren't even freaking Highschool graduate take some time off and think about your pathetic status in a society like south korea. First you had dropout half way and now that you are back you still can't live up to the chance and messing things around .
Plot (the worst) - non-direction approach totally killed the joy. Though in the beginning two episodes it felt like okay there is a fine build up for upcoming events (may be a mellow revenge plot) but suddenly the writer took a nosedive and things lost their direction.. i won't be exaggerating if I say I completely forgetten why I started watching this show in the first place .. nothing written in the synopsis ever came true. It was a big disappointment almost betrayal as a viewer.
With that said I have had enough so i dropped it mid way.

Bye venus ..
It was hella boring, so I’ll keep it short. The plot revolves around a pediatrician struggling in her career (a career she soon forgets about) and a hospital director (who you will never actually see working). They meet and start with a misunderstanding—which is hardly convincing. Like, you meet someone who is carrying your injured goat, and the first thing you do is accuse them of theft? THANK YOU, NEXT. 🙄Still, bound together by fate (aka professionalism), they somehow develop feelings for each other. I mean, the classic case of “NOTHING NEW,” seriously. And honestly, I knew what I was stepping into, but I thought maybe some background medical cases or stories would keep me entertained. But nope—nothing like that. Such a huge letdown.
Anyway, I watched it while literally standing on the skip button, still can't dare to finish it.
About the cast:
Joseph, my boy, was shining like a bright star in this pitch-black plot. But Liang Jie’s character and performance were absolutely rubbish. I personally think she was a total miscast—she wasn’t a good pick for the role, and her chemistry with Joseph was NIL. ZERO. FLAT.
They’ve been cast together in a wuxia drama previously, and I didn’t like their chemistry there either. Okay, I might seem a little overbearing, but seriously—they don’t even look good together.
The BGM?
I think it was there... but with all the skipping, I couldn’t really listen to it properly. In fact, to hell with the BGM when the plot is this lackluster.
Dropping it at 6th episode was indeed the best decision.. cause I jumped to 22 episode and the plot despite all story buildup, was still boring

I thought she will fight her own battle ...
The first few episodes were actually really promising ~ the leads had great chemistry, and the ML pulling off those dual roles, a sweet husband and a flirty stranger, made things super interesting. The FL also started off strong ~ smart, confident, getting info through her own sources, and even a trained martial artist. Their sync without even knowing each other’s goals was the perfect kind of spice I was hoping for.But then the story completely lost it. Her “grand revenge plan” turned out to be… sleeping with the crown prince to have his baby? Like, seriously? All that 'sword practice sessions in music room' buildup for this? She literally dropped her weapons and pride overnight. I’m fine with seductive or cunning FLs if that’s their set personality, but this kind of 180° flip just ruins the character.
And honestly, the actress didn’t help either ~ s he’s okay in normal scenes, but her emotional acting, especially in episode 13, was flat-out bad (She speaks like she is about to sneeze anytime)
The plot itself feels recycled; there’s nothing fresh or surprising anymore. It started with fire but burned out way too soon.

Nothing special for a betrayal-revenge story
I don't find anything different or unique for the overall storyline ... Simple betrayal to revenge plot ... I mean you are not missing anything even if you don't watch it ... There are already a lot of similar plot dramas in the market ... Infact this one is rather boring than the others. the story gets very flat after episode 6 ... For the FL is jewelry designer, the story writer has pushed too much stuff like jewelry project jewelry gala jewelry this and that ...( Don't know if even the real jewelry artists get these many things to do in that short span of time) ..I decide to drop it at ep 9.Was this review helpful to you?
Poop cake
I gave it a fair chance but everything from its plot, to characters and acting of the entire cast is upto no class .. the story writing seems to be done by some fifth grader ... events and their collaboration in the plot is making no sense plus the pathetic acting is adding that rotten cherry on top of this poop cake, just few minutes in first episode and i already got sick of FL over-acting..ML tried to deliver but as there is no sync from FL side chemistry seems like it will commit suicide any minute. In fact ML and the child character were the only people actually did their job properly. Some people have given this thing a decent rating but I am sorry I can't ... I have some high standards. I can't recommend this to anyone.

Cross-border romance..sorry!!! can't relate.
Not a fan of this cross border romance genre... I find it too bogus and impractical to be honest. In real life they will keep you in jail ... Torture you to hell .. and send your dead body in the most disgusting state possible ... Apparently some genres must be banned in these so called 'liberal' cinemas. There is a lot on stakes to let the young minds influenced by this nonsense. Sometimes cinema should be held accountable for its deeds. You can watch it for entertainment but please don't let it influence your mind.

Poorly written skit
Linear events in non linear time loops is quite a heavy genre in itself no matter if the format is of a movie or a drama. But very few writers got the ability to do it right without messing it up and confusing the viewers... This one honestly didn't have that punch... It was so damn confusing almost a joy killer ... And the third grade actors in the side cast made it even more unbearable. Leads were trying to save it, but they couldn't save it for me at least. Was this review helpful to you?

Failed attempt to make a sci-fi x history x rpg drama
The story had a lot of potential but thanks to bad screenwriting and incomplete preface that the entire drama failed. The FL is supposed to eradicate a big in the game system ...and for that she needs to kill the lord of the city 99-100 times ... The plot was so unique but because the content was kept so secretive it twisted in a boring outcome ... In my opinion a proper narration about the game could have helped the viewers in better understanding of the plot ...
I dropped it at 11th episode may be the story will get interesting later on ...but seriously 11 episodes are already enough ... If a drama can't hold on to the viewers interest in 11 episodes than I don't think it's really worth watching ... Cast was good ,but again wasted .. hope some other writer can rewrite the theme in proper way ... The concoction of these genre is actually very interesting.

Gave me the anime nostalgia in live action mode
This plot made me nostalgic for my childhood days when I used to watch animes like Kamisama Hajimemashita. The drama carried the same anime-like vibe, and even the ending soundtrack and BGM sounded like anime tracks as well . Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be based on a manga. The FL is a 1000-year-old demon-hunter and owner of a monster inn, cursed with immortality. Her duty was to help people confront their inner demons~manifestations of past obsessions~and guide them toward salvation. However, instead of fulfilling her role properly, she simply slayed them with her sword, never pausing to understand their pain or seek true redemption for them. This careless approach led to an accumulation of karmic fire within her, causing unbearable pain from time to time.
The ML, a reincarnation of someone from her past, joins the inn to help her with her work. Together, they take on various clients, confronting the monsters born from their lingering obsessions and helping them find peace in their present lives.
The leads had great chemistry, but they were never portrayed as a fully committed couple. In fact, they shared just one kiss, and that too in the final episode. Their relationship felt more like a partnership or a deep friendship between two besties, with the FL being the bossy, fiery, and dominant leader type, while the ML came across as calm, gentle, and a bit timid. So, if you’re expecting a honey-dipped, overly romantic love story, this might not be the best pick for you.
Jui Lin and Yanqi delivered exceptional performances... both are seasoned actors, and they lived up to that reputation. Their chemistry felt natural and mature, perfectly suited to the tone of the story.
Apart from this I absolutely loved the aesthetics of the set. The entire inn, designed to reflect an ancient or medieval era, had interiors that perfectly matched that period-old-style furniture, wooden doors, vintage lamps, and intricate details. Yet, those subtle modern touches, like the iMac on the reception desk, added a distinctly 21st-century vibe. The leather sofa in the lobby, on the other hand, gave off a late 20th-century retro charm.
In a nutshell, the set design beautifully captured the essence of the FL’s thousand-year-long life, it felt like she had gradually collected and blended pieces from different eras into her living space over time.
Things that could’ve been better:
1. The closure to the leads’ love story wasn’t as convincing as its buildup, felt a little rushed and emotionally underwhelming compared to how beautifully their bond was developed earlier.
2. The final face-off with the main villain, the old lady demon king, was unintentionally hilarious instead of intense. The overacting in that scene completely broke the mood that had been building up.
Nonetheless, the drama was amazing. It had so many refreshing elements—I found myself tearing up every time they resolved a case and laughing at their everyday banter. A total masterpiece in its own unique way.

SASSY saintess of the dark ❤️ NOBLE lord of the immortals
this drama had me hooked for the first 25 episodes—like, I genuinely thought I had discovered something better than the cult favorites like TTEOTM and Unchained. The storytelling, the characters, the intensity—it was chef’s kiss. But then... (sigh) someone really needed to tell the writers that less is more. Instead of wrapping it up in 30 episodes, they decided to give us filler arcs we never asked for. But anyway, let’s break this down properly because I have thoughts.1) Interesting Characters – No Basic Good vs. Evil Trope Here!
This drama didn’t serve the classic hero-villain formula; instead, it explored the angels and demons within each character. We got a main lead who starts as an immortal sect leader, then becomes a saint emperor, and finally, a demon lord (talk about career progression). The side lead? He starts off as a timid little guy but slowly reveals his morally grey shades.
But let’s talk about the real star here—our FL. She is:
✔ Sassy
✔ Smart
✔ Bold
✔ Straightforward
✔ Funny
✔ A queen who pursues her man without hesitation (no unnecessary pining here)
✔ Takes responsibility for the people she loves
Honestly, I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said she’s one of the best female leads I’ve ever seen. And she stays consistently amazing till the very end, which is RARE.
2) The Plot – A Full Buffet of Genres, But...
This drama gave us romance, comedy, suspense, thrill, adventure—basically, everything packed into one show, and it was well-balanced. No genre overpowered the other, which is usually hard to pull off. The sweet romance and cute comedy moments were adorable. BUT…
❌ Too many filler arcs. Do I really need to know the backstory of every single character, from a bodyguard to a noodle seller? NO.
❌ Lotus of Life arc dragged on for too long. We get it. Move on.
❌ The goddess and her lover’s curse arc—completely unnecessary. I still don’t get what purpose it served in the grand scheme of things.
❌ Too many reincarnation parallels. I understood why the saint emperor, Pearl, and Fate had past lives—it made sense. But why was the royal bodyguard reincarnated too? I’m sorry, who asked for this?
And then there’s this plot hole: Xie Xuechen from the present goes back in time to help Mu Xuanling and dies, only to be saved by the Chaos Pearl. But what happens to the Xie Xuechen already existing in that timeline?? Crickets.
3) The Cast – Just Perfection
Sun Zhen Ni is already a favorite, thanks to TTEOTM, and she absolutely killed it here. Her voice modulations? On point.
Vin Zhang? Hottie alert. I’ve been obsessed with him since Rattan.
Wang Duo (Sword and Fairy) and Zhang Ya Qin (Ancient Love Poetry) added to the magic.
Special shoutout to the child actress playing young Mu Xuanling—she was insanely talented!
4) The Costumes – Fashion Goals
The Saintess of the Dark costume?? ICONIC.
Every single outfit was next-level, but the Demon Lord’s, Fate’s, and Goddess Pearl’s outfits were just wow.
The accessories? From chains to crowns—perfection.
5) OST – Small but Mighty
Unlike Guardians of the Defang and Love Between Fairy and Devil, which had an entire playlist of bangers, this drama only gave us one standout OST. But you know what? That one song was enough.
6) Set Design – Dark Abyss Was a Masterpiece
The details in Dark Abyss were stunning, and the lava valley VFX? SO REALISTIC.
That said, Snow City could’ve been better. I expected more from them on that one.
7) Why Wasn’t This in Full HD?!
I don’t know if they intentionally kept the quality low to hide set flaws, but even on streaming platforms claiming to be HD—it wasn’t true HD. And that’s a crime because I couldn’t even fully admire the details of the FL’s stunning accessories.
8) Action Scenes – An Absolute Feast for the Eyes
The first 15 minutes of the drama alone gave us a high-intensity Xie Xuechen and Mu Xuanling escape sequence. And that was just the start! Every action scene was flawlessly performed and choreographed.
9) My Favorite Takeaways
✔ Going back in time to meet your GF as a kid and getting jealous of your future self. (Peak romance!)
✔ Lip bite and love bites. Enough said.
✔ She fell hard, but he fell harder.
✔ Even after becoming the Demon Lord and suffering 10,000 years of punishment, he still couldn’t hurt her. The jealousy levels whenever he saw her with Fate?? Priceless.
10) The Ending – Satisfying, But…
They changed the course of time so that the Demon Lord never even existed because he willingly accepted his punishment. It was a good ending, but deep down, I wanted the Demon Lord to have his own closure.
Final Verdict:
This was an incredible drama that I will 100% rewatch. The first 25 episodes were near-perfect, and even with the unnecessary filler, it’s still one of the best fantasy romance dramas out there.
