Everything important, valid matters and questions were clearly explained and answered despite the time constraints and this being a mini drama😭🤧 it wrapped up perfectly, and there is no loose ends.
Reallly wish now this was a full drama 19-24 episodes were so f*cking great. 😭😭

Though a beautiful image this is, but this drama's art cover made it seem like it's another been there done there fantasy kind of mini drama when clearly it's not. It's a serious mini drama one with an amazing plot but this current art drama cover doesn't convey that message at all. *sigh*

Wish this was the Art cover for this mini drama coz the one you currently have now ( sorry to say this ) is honestly not that inviting and intriguing enough, this one tho fits perfectly with the storyline without revealing anything about the whole of the amazing plot.

True some big projects and anticipated full drama that are out right now really disappointed me, the poorly recycled plot , very same style conflicts , the starkly apparent lacking and forced chemistry of leads, the endless over used drama over and over again , not to mention the butchering of scripts and the many irksome plot holes that you really can't forgive and oversight saddens me that is evident in some of this supposedly big budgeted full dramas today,

But if you want there is one site available to watch these for free but I'm afraid this eps will be in raws form and won't have english subtitles available, and believe me to fully immerse and enjoy and appreciate this two express vip episodes , english subtitles is really needed .

Episode 19 today reminds me that we are nearing the end ,the plot , the suspense and the tension in today's ep were certainly that (°0°)!!
Tomorrow please come and hurry up coz I want episode 20 to drop now. Gonna miss this amazing mini drama and this fast becoming one of my fave chinese drama couples pairing when this drama ends.

True, how I wish this drama get more attention it certainly deserves, such an amazing mini drama and so does the two main lead actor and actress.

I too like you stumbled upon this gem only by accident, I was bored , and browsing randomly on wetv chinese dramas and after a long while , seeing that most dramas available I've watched already, the other's failed to interest me and then this unusual title popped up out of nowhere and caught my eye but I tell 'ya that drama art cover ( it was not that attractive to say the least wish they change it ) certainly didn't help it was not that inviting and the drama synopsis wasn't that forthcoming either, good thing I don't judge based on these things I always give them a trial run 1 episode at least and good thing (Pei Shenzi ) Li Ge Yang's commanding presence at the beginning and the pacing of the first 5 minutes were enough to convince me to watch the rest episodes that is currently out and boy was I glad It certainly did not disappoint.

If my memory too is right my understanding is that Pei Shenzhi ( yes ML and FL were switched at birth ) did not kill his real father the Emperor of the current Dynasty of Ning now but Pei certainly didn't make it painlessly and comfortably for the him either ( remember when the scriber offered the Emperor medicine in front of Pei, I guess it was a drug of some sort to aid his death painlessly but Pei in the guise that the medicine was cold refused it away) the Emperor died of natural causes ( old age ) Pei only squeezed the Emperor's hand tightly to stop him from contradicting Pei's lies to scriber and he only coughed up blood due to his ilness while dying staining Pei's face, but the Emperor's soul certainly didn't die restful and peacefully too and in this regard Pei Shenzhi was indeed cruel to the Emperor (real father) he made it known that the emperor was betrayed, manipulated and got played at all this time by his supposedly most trusted person Pei Shenzi, he made him realize that his ill begotten ( in chaos now ) throne's fate is at the hands of his annihilated former rival Emperor Dynasty of Xia's son and ( supposedy) prince Pei Shenzhi. This is Pei's sort of revenge for his late ( supposedly) mother and father former dynasty Emperor and Empress of Xia.
Yes he died of shock and anguish but he was at deaths door already before Pei came on the scene. ( I also have a theory that maybe evil Chief Eunuch Zhuo had a hand of some sort in the Emperor's quick decline of health hmmm )

We have the same dilemma too what with all these titles and whatnot, their nicknames the wives, concubines, the sons, daughters, cousins,legitimate or ilegitimate, their 1st, 2nd 3rd rank officials and same sounding name and faces too. A lot of re-watch and relying on subtitles ast to who is who is my answer. Haha.

Hahaha you nailed it, my gawd I can still remember the tearing my hair out go bonkers cursedly waiting for just 1 f*ck*ng episode to drop per week for kdramas is not good for my health I tell 'ya. Although patiently waiting for an episode to drop is part of the fun too but my gawd not this once in a blue moon kind pwease so yes in a way this 1 ep per day is already a god send, but if its that good of a drama like this one then patience be d*mned I'd still go wild and bonkers wilst ehem "fake" patiently waiting for that episode to drop everyday still.

oh no daym gurl you really triggered the hornets trap right there, I was afraid and anxious of this too but dared not mention it coz I want them all here in the forum to have happy thoughts....but since you mentioned it I noticed it too since episode 1 coz I checked and double, triple, quadrupled and slow mode their trailer over and over again and noticed that at the end of that trailer Pei Shenzhi was not visible and seen in that scene when the at long last finaly known Emperor but now as an openly Empress Jinyi to all was crowned once again and everyone was bowing to her he was nowhere to be found ( small consolation tho and I hope to gawd he was that dude that was bowing in the center..oh dear lordy) and the couple hugging and comforting each other and like sadly with her Majesty in Pei Shenzhi's bedroom I think,moment in the trailer, ISTG did not f*ck*ng bode well for me too huhuhu not to mention ( mind you and this scene was so fast I had to slow mo it to the lowest slow mo possible) when Pei Shenzhi was in a battle of some sort with fires around him all geared up and was in a battle mode all bloodied aarghhhhh *naur* pls don't let this be true and pls stay in my overly active imagination forever huhu.

Ahahaha, his overwhelming bursting love and desire overcame him and it's fitting tho in that moment, Pei Shenzhi was feeling anxious at first but later impressed and in awe once again with her Majesty and happy that he really made the right choice in her, was moved and very proud of her, couple this with his overwhelming big love that is at it's peak for her Majesty and boom how is he gonna express this happiness at that moment when all this loveliness creature in front of him is still spouting words that made his heart goes* doki doki * more, mind you hahaha although her Majesty's words here were not of romantic kind but a political of sorts nevertheless it moved him still and what can a man in love do.?....kiss her of course, smart of him to stop her Majesty's tempting him at that moment, too many eyes and ears on the wall that could potentially jeopardize their secrets.

It really stuck to Pei and he remembered very well her Majesty's Aunt/palace maid statement ( remember in ep 7 when she advised FL's curiosity about this book called "eunuch who love's the consort" and she said " the consort was wise to distance herself early on from her beloved eunuch because after all he can't bring "true" happiness to any woman" ) 'coz Pei Shenzhi definitely made it known immediately to her Majesty after the confirmation and validation of both their mutual feelings for each other, this "secret" of his so that she will rest easy and dispel any thoughts on distancing herself from him this early on in their relationship, that she did not just win his whole heart and complete devotion, she is a winner in that *wink wink* department too. Haha 🤭
