I thought about it for a while and now I can finally articulate what irritates me. To me, the whole series seems…
There is no emotion really. I like a guarded personality as much as the next person but when the script isn't vomiting out good enough dialogue the acting needs to show us everything else & it's not happening here.
Why is Mu Yeong so...dumb? I don't understand & listening to his inner monologue of utter stupidity & obliviousness is frustrating. And, like, please stop "kissing". It's bad enough there's zero chemistry but to have to sit through another wisp of a statue "kiss" is insulting LOL. Do they not know how to do it?
I've read and loved the manhwa, but now learning from the comments that it's unserious... Is it still worth watching?Honest…
It's 15 minute episodes. Even if it was as bad as Ocean Likes Me you'd survive it without any permanent damage. Maybe wait until the whole show is released so that it's not as annoying LOL.
Holy fuckin whiplash Batman! Talk about rushing through at 80 mph...pump the fuckin brakes.
I gotta say that Xua An's whole family bullshit soured this whole thing quite a bit for me. It seemed to not only change his entire personality, but it took the wind out of their relationship. I despised his parents & in no way, shape, or form on this God's green earth would I just up & forgive my boyfriend's asswipe of a father for beating him repeatedly, let alone forgive his mother for allowing it. I don't give a shit what culture is portrayed. I found no humor in their family dynamic & it would take everything I had not to shove that chess board down his throat...but I digress.
Starting the other two relationships was obviously silly & made for poor story telling & expectation. There was enough time for at least 2 couples to take the screen as has been done in many a show but clearly they were not planning on that with this one. Unless there will be another show focused on Alex & RJ, which I'll easily & gladly sign up for, they should've never started any implication that their relationship had potential.
I had very much enjoyed this show right up until about 2 episodes ago. The writing got unnecessarily too dark & the characters that we had been getting to know & enjoy peaced out, nowhere to be found stalling the character development of them all. I am glad that we have older actors taking on older subject lines. It makes the BL world sound & look very promising & fingers crossed it will continue.
Right? Like in what fuckin land is this brand of "kissing" happening? It's so unrealistic especially when dealing with older actors in big boy story lines. The shitty kissing can take me out of the moment & it distracts me to the point that I get trigger happy with the FF button. Plus & Minus was one of those shitty kissing 30-something couples. Honestly, I've become a fan of the sniff & forehead kiss because really...how can you fuck that up right?
I thought this was awesome! Every single character had so much depth to them. Everything from their body language to their choice of words to what they weren't saying...was just fabulous.
Leo's character was my favorite from beginning to end. He had so much complexity & control that every scene with him in it sucked you in & demanded your attention.
I enjoyed that this story captured your attention with little information & detail but with every episode one more piece clicked into place to bring it to the finish line with a great message. I loved the pace & the quiet moments as much as I loved the seriousness & honest emotions.
The only con I had, which I will always bitch about, is the "kissing". They sucked at it & it was unnecessary to have happen & watch if they clearly were such shit at it. Again, typical of most BL's you have this powerful acting, intense intimacy, literally fire that you can feel through the screen...& then absolute bullshit when it comes to sealing the deal & it's frustrating.
Wait, why is the Saseung getting a WHOLE redemption arc when none of us care about her crazy invasion of privacy…
I know & I'm trying to be patient because I know that "losing" a best friend really sucks but I don't know if I could forgive her let alone accept her. Even saying that out loud makes me sound like a total bitch but come on. Saseung's are toxic, dangerous, & touched. Kanoon being so sweet & supportive of Namwah makes it suck more LOL.
