YuNa's parents are swindlers but they love each other and they love YuNa... MJ is a naive stupid mama boy but is now starting to act in more mature ways... Aunt/Mom is soooo polite and polished but she is such a human chess player brutal strategies - and MASTERFUL LIAR "in public" - wow her switch is so strong, never to get mixed up between "public" and her inner circle!!! and blurt something out...
Chloe looks so cute, dimples, baby face, feminine, but... when she started gnarling, she was totally like a warewolf... blood thirsty scary.
Her yelling "why can't I kill the people who killed my family" is totally off the rails... Her LOGICAL MIND should have told her it is not ok to think like that ... but she still thinks like that... for 7 yrs... and with that baby face of hers... Chloe seems mentally off OR she is very mean person underneath all her external softness and care
HJ is actually the richest character here bc he has genes of a serial killer monster mom and a very docile meek lovey dovey dad - who is confused,so his "love" means doting on his serial killer wife... And HJ on one hand has morals and values, he disowned his mother when he found out she is a murderer, but on the other hand. HJ is very similar to his mom when he wants something, he will do anything to get it. Right now he is an obsessed psycho

These complexities in the characters and opposing forces driving their actions and reactions is what makes the drama "tight and tense" and creates various plots, imo. Crazy town plots like pushing contract marriages etc are not what makes a drama interesting :)

Especially since, if the drama is done well, SOME character(s) / events in the drama will be annoying, controversial, etc. And if the drama has some substance, some watchers will be reflecting and thinking and connecting the dots ..
Also the actors/drama production team needs feedback to make the drama better, even th best drama can be made even better, always, it is a never ending job :) so we always have to stop somewhere :)
