didn't expect the plot to make this move. it was really surprising. That. sequence was a really tense portrayal of a honey trap. I almost felt bad for her when she talked with the princess the next morning after, explaining how she had no choice. She's not turning back this way, she's gone full on bitch mode. the royal harem couldn't hold a candle to her shamelessness.

it's a tough battle between Xie Wei's romance and his daddy issues lol.

Xue Shu really climbed her cousin's bed to save her ass. She's like I'd rather be my cousins' mistress than marry into another family legitimately.

its' like the pattern. After one chapter of dangerous situation she got involved in, then she got saved. Out of the blue, another situation comes up and despite having a choice of not getting involved. She involves her intentionally, plus a flashback of the reason why (which is something that happened in the alternate past). And she always, say this line "but it happened earlier this time" to someone like the maids, just confusing them. I could almost expect her to follow up with "ah it's because I'm clairvoyant". But lol nope, then she brushes off the confusion and starts gathering funds for her next mission. Sigh Jiang Xue Ning, you and your pattern.

I read here that someone hates the fake Xue Dingfei from the first moment he was introduced. but I guess I had a good intuition cause I liked him from the start. Maybe because it was earlier that they hinted he is just a decoy to hide the true Xue Dingfei. And now, he is very helpful to the good guys gang.
Can we name this group (Lu Xian, Xue Dingfei and Xie Wei) I like that they are a little bit funny when they're together despite doing dangerous missions' plan's together for the good cause. Talk about comic relief, these guys have it. Xie Wei is lucky to have them.

Xie Wei - hidden love/true love. he also loved her in the past but they didn't have a chance cause they were busy with revenge/rebellion and she was busy being empress. In the past, he was also the one with her in the end.

dingfei/xiewei is the son of duke of xue and sister of duke yan. the duke of xue's sister is the current emperor's mother. so the emperor (sick one) is dingfei's cousin? how come he doesn't recognize his cousin who saved his life now is his most trusted advisor the junior preceptor?
then dingfei and yan lin are also cousins.
also the lord ping-an was the brother of the previous emperor. so he is the uncle of the current emperor and he took dingfei to make him a secret weapon against the capital kingdom? the current empress dowager is his sister in law. also the empress dowager is dingfei's aunt?

i love this show with the fact that they actually managed to match all the other couples without rushing their stories and without taking away the plot from the main.
