i just watched the finale teaser and it basically reveals there that the twin flowers of the ganoderma vein is actually keeping the chaos at bay. So I think what the 4 realms did long ago by destroying the flower tribe endangered them all because the twin flower tree is actually purifying the Guixu. even more interesting right?
So i just randomly searched the word "Guixu" over the internet. and found that it even has a wikipedia page. If we based it on the actual mythology, the Guixu is not a bad thing at all, it's just an entity void that sucks everything into it like a blackhole. The emperors are just very perfectionist that they want to eradicate everything that could mean their end, so you guys are right with this trope that the righteous tribes are actually the messed up ones. I believe all the other things in the show have a real world mythological equivalent as well. They should have named this story "Love like the Galaxy" but ah, that was already taken.

I forgot the ending of S3 but they set up S4 in a way that she was seeing him everywhere because of longing after she got out of the book. So the child (IP admin) -glad they got this character again and all the others to reprise their roles- erased her memory and now only Qin Yu remembers their love story in the book. But she knows the whole story, what was just erased is her awareness that everything in the book really happened and that Qin Yu really became her husband. So the continuity is still there.
