Jang Seung-jo's performance was outstanding. His character No Jin-pyo was such a scary psycho. But, whew, his other role was so ridiculous (not the actor's fault).

I have mixed feelings about her, but I wouldn't call her a creepy stalker. Part of being a teacher is going on…
@Platinum Fox, thank you for your response. I'm looking forward to "A Modest Proposal". :)

Regarding the teacher, I didn't think she wanted to have sex with the student, and I also understood that she had the best of intentions. However, caring and grooming often look similar for children, so a decent adult should avoid such confusing situations, in my opinion.

What did she do? I'm not there yet but after episode 3 I don't think I want to continue anyway because it seems…
Not sure if you completed the drama but if you didn't, please do that first. If you did, well, maybe rewatch episode 10 because some people need to be really, really careful about encouraging and/or advocating for paedosexuality.

I found the first few episodes a bit boring because it was "the cool hero" beating up "the bad students". However, in my opinion, the drama started to become more interesting when we learnt more about ML's past life, which made him more relatable, and the stories became a bit more nuanced.

@Platinum Fox, I'm sure that teachers in the USA have to ask the parents first instead of ambushing students. Also, there is a difference between paying a visit once and standing in front of his home all day. When she gave him that Yakult(?) stuff, he immediately put it away. He did set boundaries but she constantly ignored them. (If the teacher were male and the boy a teenage girl, people wouldn't say something like "oh, this sweet man just cared so much about her, so it's fine that he lurks in front of her house for days, touches her face, hugs her, gives her treats, rummages her backpack and her menstrual hygiene products for drugs.")

She learnt about the drugs only later when she rummaged his backpack. She could have given him those books instead of opening his backpack. Since she carried only a few books, it was clear that she didn't do the same for other students, just for him. That's why it is difficult for me to agree that she's like an overzealous social worker instead of a creep.

She then followed him to a dark place. Alone. Then she basically threw herself at him to hug him. If he hadn't suddenly murdered her, I'm sure more people would see this scene with different eyes.

@citylights, omg, I completely forgot SHE complained about him being in love. That makes it even more gross, especially since she basically encouraged it. :(

@Platinum Fox, I didn't complain about the over the top violence. It is pretty obvious with all those funny sound effects that this is comedy. I just do not see, though, how the angelic portrayal of ML's fiancée/wife/whatever is supposed to be satire or a parody.

No, I haven't read "A Modest Proposal" (yet) but it sounds interesting. I'm putting it on my reading list.

This drama is certainly not about commendable behaviour. ML hits minors but, at least, this gets criticised in the drama albeit by the "bad" people. Regarding words, I don't care about Murican sentiments because this is an Asian drama made by Asians for Asians.

She lurked in front of the student's house (not just once but multiple times), basically stalked him, followed him around, gave him stuff, constantly touched him, opened his bag while he wasn't there, put stuff into his bag, stole his stuff, and so on. Of course, the drama does not show this as a problematic behaviour. Probably because she's yound and beautiful.

Why does ML's wife get portrayed as an angel when she was obviously a creepy stalker? What she did (in ep. 10) was highly inappropriate.

Person Jang Keun Suk Spoiler
I only saw him in Decoy but I thought his performance was fairly solid. I hope he'll appear in more dramas in…
Haha, no worries. I've read your entire wall of text. XD

Regarding Yeo Jin-goo, I don't know if he's better than Jang Keun-suk because I watched only one drama with the latter while I saw the former in a variety of roles in the recent years. I really LOVE "The Crowned Clown", and Yeo Jin-goo was phenomenal in it. However, since I don't know any of Jang Keun-suk's other dramas, it would be unfair to call him worse just because I didn't enjoy Decoy as much as I enjoyed "The Crowned Clown". It might also be that Jang Keun-suk practiced and is better nowadays than 10+ years ago when he was super popular. I don't know enough to form a general opinion on his acting skills. :/

Regarding Jang Keun-suk's performance in Decoy, I don't judge an actor's performance based on the role itself. Heo Sung-tae's character was definitely way more interesting than his but that's the writers' "fault", not the actors'. In my opinion, Jang Keun-suk's performance felt natural. He showed lots of different facial expressions to convey different emotions, which is why I found his performance solid. He did a good job portraying the detective. That's all I care about.

I hope my own wall of text made somewhat sense. It's after midnight here, and I should be in bed sleeping.

That being said, I've just added "Switch" to my list. Maybe I'll watch it next year. Thanks for the advertisement. :)

Why they were separated for a year! This is what I did not understand! 💔
A typical trope in Kdramas. At least, the separation made sense in this drama because it would have been odd if they became a couple right after her husband died. They met again in a different context, so there is hope that they'll become a couple without the burden of the past.

I know it's not a romantic drama, but the relationship between the aunt and her boyfriend when they were young…
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. The aunt and her bf were the only people I was invested in. Finally, some character development! And then the writers decided to kill him in a rather underwhelming scene, and his death is quickly forgotten. So disappointing!!!!! :(

The premise of this drama was interesting but the writing was lacking. During the first 6-8 episodes, they basically repeated the same information over and over again. There was barely any progress in regards to the story, basically no character development, or let's say: any character development was basically irrelevant.
The whole time, I was like "oh, it's some kind of a thriller/mystery drama, so there is surely a riddle somewhere". Well, no, there wasn't any. This drama didn't offer anything to guess along. And then it ended ... somehow.

This is really disappointing because the actors did a great job portraying their respective characters. There was a promising story, and there were a lot of good ideas. With better writers, this drama could have been phenomenal.

I'm glad they didn't. She looks like a cute teenager while he looks his age. In my opinion, the friendship was…
Yes, it would have been nice if they had explored their friendship a bit more. :)

Looks do matter for me, though, especially since the industry is known for making minors adults and vice versa. I'd rather have no romance than feeling I might accidentally be supporting hebephilia, be it fictional or actual.

This particular actress portrayed a child in a movie a couple of years ago. She still looks very young today AND portrays this adult role like her child role back then. It's difficult for me to distinguish between roles if the actors look the same and act the same way in all their movies and dramas. If she hadn't displayed the same behaviour like in her child role, my opinion regarding romance in this drama probably would have been different. :/
