It doesn’t help that the Emperor will do both....use her as his sharpest blade and a capable official while…
We don't have to worry much about them falling in love coz they would only even get sharper for scheming together and protecting each other, right? 😉At least in the novel. Hopefully so in the drama. They're the definition of a power couple.
I guess some viewers may not like the cinematography or the choppy editing, especially compared with other C-dramas.…
Yes! it was quite shocking in the novel. Even for the FL to be initiating things too. But i hope even just half of their boldness would be shown. Just to make the audience see how intense they are, it's really refreshing to be seen.

Yes. Hopefully. So far, from the novel, the characters were closely integrated into the drama successfully. Though i honestly think the shamelessness of the leads would be toned down in this. Or else they might not allow this drama to air... 🤣

Well, the author of this novel was one of the scriptwriters, so i really hope it somehow sticks close to the essence of the novel and the character dynamics.
Please assist The opening was so brutal it gave me flashbacks to Princess Agents and I turned it off. I can not…
Actually, as long as i can remember, the novel wasn't that violent or it was only shown occasionally. It was more like a battle of wits and schemes among all the characters. Like mind-twisting than bloodshed most of the time. It was ML and FL against everyone.
Funny. The rating is only 7.8, whereas the comments/feedbacks were mostly positive. Then the other dramas were rated higher, though the comments weren't really favorable. lol.
I don't remember from the novel that there was any harem involved. Politics is the central problem, not the harems.…
And i really like the author's writing. She uses alternating 3rd POV of ML and FL. We get to know what the ML was thinking too. It was such an enjoyable read. Even the politics wasn't too boring.

Yes. Most especially FL being bold enough with the ML. It was really shocking in the novel. Even what the ML did. 🤣 But i guess we can only hope. What i really remembered was that she chased him first. She mostly initiates things.

Yes. Exactly. Everyone was pretty much busy with being selfish in their schemes of contradicting the ML. That it was almost funny for ML and FL to be playing with them being enemies up front. 🤣
how much romance is in it? like is it a minor subplot or is there more screentime for their romance?
From what i can recall in the novel. It was fair with the political issues because ML and FL mostly scheme together to win against everyone. And they are pretty much shameless together. 😉
What is the role of Shen Zhili? It was mentioned she was the only lady allowed to stay in the palace from childhood.…
No. She's not interested. She likes someone else. They were childhood friends. And everyone was pairing her with ML because she's the grand tutor's daughter. She even helps FL to be with ML. That was in the novel.
But i guess we can only hope.

That was in the novel.
