Have to say that this is one of the first…

Have to say that this is one of the first episodes of this drama that I didn’t really have a hard time trying to watch. Then again it's because finally after many episodes you see the main character and supporting ones actually worked together in earnest to solve the case.

So much mind games. Not just between Hyeok and Juwon, but between other people directly and indirectly involved with the past and recent serial murder cases. Not to mention unexpected revelation as to the true cause of Yuyeon's death. And as Chief Nam and Juwon headed into possible danger, we see Dongsik mask started to crumble as he started worrying about Juwon, not just Chief Nam. Enough to want to refer to Juwon as his partner.Though I kinda wished that we didn't have to wait til now to get this. Because too much secrets and mindgames can be so draining.

So we're getting a bit more progress ever since Kang Jinmook's apparent suicide. And even more skeletons were eventually found in an unexpected place.Episodes by episode we're getting more glimpse of not just Lee Dongsik's but of the other people in Manyang. Even then I still can't quite be fine with how Lee Dongsik had been behaving. Juwon pointed out the things that have been in my mind since the last episode. As in why Dongsik still refused to turn himself in despite how he kept saying he would once the true culprit has been found. It was frustrating tbh.Because you can't help feeling gaslighted by that guy. And looking at Juwon, you can't help empathizing with him. As if he wasn't already having a hard time dealing with his father and the relating people. On the bright side, Yuyeon's body was finally found.

The first episode's starting really good.…

The first episode's starting really good. And my initial feeling from the teasers had turned out right also. I like Lee Jehoon's character in this drama already. He really brought out the character of Kim Dogi pretty well, and I like how dark his demeanour is against bad guys and how kind he appeared towards the weak, victimized people. And the back story of Kim Dogi also was written well, that it made sense how that past shaped him into the person he currently is. Been a while since I watched any movies or dramas where Kim Euisung played a good guy, so this was nice. Since it's pretty scary when he played really bad villainous characters. And I like how Mr Jang had this dual character where he operates a normal taxi service and the Blue Bird foundation during the day and then having this vigilante job on the side. In which makes it very refreshing for stories like this.I like the overall vibe of the drama, and I can't help feeling something familiar from the overall writing on the first episode. And then I realized that the writer had also written the Fabricated City so that makes sense. This was the first drama that the writer had done yet I had a good feeling about this drama, considering the fact that I did like Fabricated City. Gonna be looking forward to seeing the rest of this drama and how the character will change from this point on.

So we're finallt getting the full picture of what happened the night Minjung died/disappeared. And we also get to see more of Dongsik's past that ended up shaping him to being who he was currently. Though frankly, even after learning about his past... I can't still quite like him. But then again, the same can be said of the rest of the Manyang people. It boils to the fact that once you realise it, a lot of things that happened in the past 6-7 episodes might have turned out a lot less complicated if some people did not act very roundaboutly.

To be honest I'm not even sure what to think about this episode. Like on one hand I might perhaps understand the reason why Dongsik did what he did, but after finding out the real cause of Minjung's death it just gives you this cruel realization as what could've happened instead if Dongsik had done things a bit differently in the past. Like it could've been possible for Minjung to be saved. If only some people had done things differently. But I guess that's the harsh realities of the world. Everything has its cause and consequences.

This episode opens with a court scene and ends with another court scene. I have to say that the framing of the episode was pretty neat.We get to see how with Vincenzo's guidance, they managed to somehow delay the first hearing to prevent the case to be closed prematurely by the Babel people and see how the Jipuragi said gained another victory. But then, not all went smooth sailing for the team as the Babel side also kept on attacking.I have to say the comedy in this episode was pretty good. Like who would've thought to use a hornet attack to delay a court proceeding? Also, I have to hand it with continuous misunderstanding by Mr Ahn regarding Vincenzo's behaviour. In which our resident NIS agent unknowingly helped him to keep his true identity as a consigliere away from the enemy. I'm also amused at the fact the writer made Mr Ahn sorta a crybaby. Like Kim Hae-il also shared that similar trait lol. That aside,Junwoo finally revealed his true identity to Han and Choi, so I guess Vincenzo's attempt to try draw him out in the open was starting to bear fruit. All in all, a fun episode!

What a tough cookie.I mean if we're to look at things from Juwon's perspective, it was really frustrating to deal with people who're very reluctant in revealing their secrets and having their own personal agendas to not want their hidden secrets to be unearthed. And it can get scary how the most innocent-looking person could turn out to be a stalker or how selfish or uncaring people can be. To the point that the possibility of the having had a serial killer onvthe loose was less scarier than the townspeople.

Three Stars

As expected, the town got into an uproar again as an almost long forgotten case revived again with a new victim. By this point, I'm totally the same mind with Joowon about suspecting everyone... especially Dongsik. Even then, I wished that he himself would come clean about his failed sting mission to the others before things went south. That aside, I'm already so done with Dongsik acting like some bipolar maniac. Just when I thought that it may still be possible for him to be innocent he pulled that crazy laugh again omg.

Five Stars

OmG this episode.... trying so hard to keep a straight face over the unexpected fanservice and the funny attacks. And it's amazing that as much as Vincenzo did start to show more of himself to Cha-young, he still manages to avoid revealing the fact that he was consigliere to a mafia family. And the build upon this episode was really good as we finally get to see more of Vincenzo's ability as an advisor to the mafia and why the late head of the Cassano family trusted him more than his own son. It's a nice prelude to what battle would come next. And it's nice also to see that the people from the Geumga Plaza had started to have more respect towards Vincenzo. Seriously the end scene was top class ??????

Magnifico

If there's still anyone thinking that this drama was still no good, I don't know what you're on. Cos this the most excitement I've ever had for a kdrama ever since Fiery Priest. Was hoping that Lawyer Hong wouldn't die... but I guess that was inevitable. Half of me was already expecting the outcome regardless, yet I still hoped for some miracle. But hey, it's still a climactic turnaround which would have given enough reason for Chayoung to change sides, and it was so good. That said, it was amusing to see the NIS guy coming to Vincenzo's defence when the other tenants were doubting him. It made me wonder if the two could form an unlikely alliance in future.Anyway, it was so exciting to see Vincenzo becoming truly motivated to fight back against Babel and Wusang. And it's still so amazing that neither Chayoung and Mr Nam had wondered if Vincenzo was ever part of the mafia rather than him acting the way he did because that a standard practice of any Italian lawyers. And true to the Cassano tradition, Vincenzo had set fire on the horrid RDU drugs. Honestly I can't help finding parallels on his actions in this episode as well as the one in the first ep. Like in both cases, Vincenzo had fulfilled the last wishes of his 'bosses'. It's very cool also, that Mr Nam was a former SFX artist. And that later on Vincenzo received even more assistance from Lawyer Hong's past clients. It felt so heartwarming somehow. And whoa! That plot twist on Tacyeon's character! I was hoping that my suspicion might not be true... but it did turn out that way anyway. There were subtle hints around too. And I guess this will stop people from tryna question the casting choice for Song Joongki being the Mafia guy... like now you got Tacyeon being of similar double-faced character. Suppose later on the plot will revolve around the good mafia vs evil mobster, I guess.Have to say that the more the plot progressing. the more points I can find for my personal Park Jaebum checklist lol. At this rate we might even do a complete bingo list.

This episode is the best by far. It really embody the whole climactic battle with the big boss villain battle which was Baek Sungmi. And we got quite a number of great car and fighting action scenes and I love how they were all well choreographed and portrayed. And I love how well Dogi's part of the plan and Hana's part in this were well complimented, like I doubted that the two really had any time to plan things out in detail and it's likely that they can't even communicate in between to inform each other of they progress. And I love that Hana also take tge centre stage in the action aside from Dogi. That aside, I'm relieved that Mr Jang didn't end up becoming a surprise villain, like he did make some bad decisions but he does realised his faults and admitted when he did do something wrong.

Plot involving cults are usually my least favourite, but with the team being so seriously focused in making this mission as occult as possible... it end up pretty decent. Tho it did took me a bit to sit down to properly watch this episode since I can't really watch Jehoon pull his Wang Taozi voice for the monk character. So hard to handle the secondhand embarrassment lol. That said, Hajun finally start to show his true colours, huh?

Haha.... finally I managed to finish watching this episode fully omg... It took me ages to get over the crack in this episode. I mean, aside from seeing more of Hajun being shady. And gosh... I really can't handle Dogi using his Wang Taozi voice www and now he uses it as an upgrade to his monk character. HahahaSo, a cult scam case this time...not my most favourite plot but I guess with stuff that has been happening in South Korea in recent time, it'd be inevitable for them to feature it.

Omo.... we're really nearing the end,…

Omo.... we're really nearing the end, I'm not ready, oh my god! Can't we get a sequel of this story with this pair getting married and the Shield team going around solving mysteries???Haha, Myungjin's really a life saviour with his comic relief... never change! So finally Seung-on find out everything.... but really, I don't wanna start hating him now. I mean, something I noticed even from the beginning was that... Seung-on did have quite a rigid line of though. And expected, he continued thinking that as long as he had that consent letter that means Jaeyi was his, and disregarding what she'd would want instead. Gosh, I really dun wanna dislike the guy now... really. So that theory about Myung-ahn rang true! But honestly... why these people targeted Hwan omg... he's damn innocent in all of this. Bet the Queen intended to use the fish eggs to make Hwan go crazy. Cos that's what remained in that ghost's letters predictions. Aaa dammit. Not gonna comment about Jaeyi picking up the knife, cos even if she didn't do that it probably wouldn't be hard for people to still deduce that it belonged to Jaeyi. Thus putting the murder weapon in her hands anyway.
