This has to be one of the first times I paused after reading your review and decided to just dive in. Most of the times I like to scroll through the comments to get general impressions but NOPE no more words needed after that delectably drafted review. You have a real talent for writing!

Title Shine on Me
When I found out this is based on a novel by the same author of You Are My Glory, everything made sense. Not much…
Oh, right. That explains the CCP propaganda throughout this drama which was much stronger in YAMG

I didn't expect to like and cherish this drama as much as I did. It was warm and healing drama that came at a time I really needed it.

All of the emotions, sadness, loneliness including the stories of the youngest sister, middle, oldest and the grandma represented different phases of life.

This is a slow burn drama where you feel all the feels and can relate to the different journeys of life portrayed. The romance between HaRan and SeonuChan was tangible. I could feel the soft yearning and the ways in which both slowly fell for each other. This drama also reminds you that just because someone smiles brightly and seems to be the happiest in the room, it doesn't mean they don't have deep scars or have not lived through harsh winters.

I loved every episode of this but did fast forward the romance of the youngest high school couple simply because it wasn't my cup of tea and I wanted to watch the journey of the main characters

A must watch for slow burn, mature romance drama lovers. The actors portrayed their characters very well and their chemistry was so natural and off the charts. You can see the journey of two people becoming friends, trusting each other and gradually falling in love.

Unlike most cdramas, I also managed not to skip the scenes of the SFL. It was a stark contrast to the main leads in showing the struggles of a married couple. I found the SFL's decision (without any spoilers), refreshing! She chose herself first. The romance with the 2ML was also not pushed down your throat but was subtly hinted towards the end.

The only part that was a bit trope-y and unnecessary was the association between the fathers of the main leads. I've seen this repeat so many times and it really wasn't needed here. There were countless other conflicts between the couple they could have introduced instead of a lazy plot device, but it didn't last very long (thankfully) and I still enjoyed the drama

i feel so bad for 2fl husband... at ep 18 😔 he was doing everything for his project...
This is my opinion only, but while the kiss was not his intention, he hid things from his wife, spent time alone with another woman and conveniently used the other woman for his project too. You can see it when the 2fl finds out how much he hid from her and lied to her. Because he was absent minded and occupied elsewhere he even forgot their wedding anniversary and rather than confess, he gave her a souvenir as a gift. Once the trust is gone in a relationship, nothing much can salvage it.

Gave this a chance and have no regrets I did. Yes, it was full of tropes/cliches but that's what I expected from a romcom Kdrama. It reminded me of pre-2018 kdramas which was when I first fell in love with them.

The chemistry between the leads was great, and it did a great job exploring themes of motherhood, single parenthood, independence, mental health and overall family dynamics. I mostly fast forwarded the scenes of the SML and SFL as I wasn't interested in their story.

I rate this drama an 8/10. If you're a fan of rom coms, and don't mind cliches then this drama is for you.

I enjoyed this drama. MZ was outstanding and his lack of morals and desire for power really carried the show. There were so many life lessons embedded in this drama. Romance was not the central theme but somehow it wasn't missed too much. The power dynamics and push and pull between MZ and LAR was so interesting to watch. Who's going to outdo the other? Who wins this round? What price do they have to pay?

In comparison, MC was a puppy. He reminded me of fluffy SMLs who never get the FL but in the reincarnation the FL finally understands how much he loved her. His love was selfless and enduring, opposite of MZ. And it was that dichotomy of love that kept this drama interesting until the end. Given the plot and final destination of the characters, the ending was sensible. Open but hopeful.

Waiting for this with bated breath. Been a long time fan of Wallace and after discovering Zhu Zhu in Why is He Still Single, I'm now a huge fan of her. She's so cute and can act well. She deserves more lead roles.

Perfectly said! I love the drama for it's simplicity and slow burn romance and also for making me laugh out loud…
Dao Ge was robbed! That dog deserves an oscar. Made the show so much more fun and enjoyable.

Wow, what a masterful yet simple tale of two very different people slowly understanding and coming to love one another.

What I loved and enjoyed were the small details that showed the leads were perfect for each other from the start. From the FL being the only person who wished him 'happy birthday' to ML realising he always envisioned a home for two and unbeknownst to him, he designed his house that way. The FL is also someone who at first doesn't think much of the ML, but slowly comes to realise how much the ML feels and cares for others even if he is poor at expressing himself and often annoys others. She is the first one he let into his house, his heart and it was like that from the moment they watched fireworks together.

The ending made me cry and reminded me there is someone for everyone no matter how eccentric, silly, difficult, unlovable or unpopular you think you are. You just haven't found your person yet so don't settle for anything less.

Why Women Love. I really enjoyed that one. Competent, CEO FL and racing enthusiast/young employee ML.
Yeah I can see why the ML may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Does anyone have any drama suggestions similar to Mr. Duke or dramas where both leads have a career, tired of…
