Lol...the skeletons later on all look plastic and exactly the same!
what put me off first was the fact that they couldn't used a child actor as a younger version of the character but the went full with Li Landi, and then she came back again 10 years later exactly the same🤣🤣🤣 so one recognized her in the capital after she went back??? please answer me🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm not even done watching episode 2 but dropped it already. the decapitated bride was obviously mannequin, not even an effort to made it look like a humans' so immediately said pass!
finally finished it after I dropped it 2x. the story is definitely not my taste, somehow Till the End of the Moon and The Journey of Flower, underwhelming. what held my interest was solely the direction, action stunt, and cinematography. ML & FL nailed their roles, I couldn't ask more. the ML has cool wardrobe but reverse is the case for the FL, her hairstyle and costumes are pretty ugly, she could have been much more better. she'd done well! 7/10.
is the cases impressive like Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty? season 2 mentioned drama set a high standard for me in any costume detective drama, so I'm reluctant to start this.
Well put! I angree with you completely. What a masterfully done drama. Although, this does have major spoiler…
It is indeed well written drama, and finishing it is equivalent to loosing a dear friend!!! I'm really sorry if I spoilt it for you or anyone who's not through! I've already put on spoiler alert now.
What a beautiful beginning that eventually led to a fantastic ending. Whether it was a happy ending, a sad one, or maybe even an open ending, honestly, I’m still not quite sure. It beats me! But one thing I do know is that I’m completely satisfied with how it all wrapped up. Hats off to the entire production team on stage and behind the scenes for putting together such a layered and emotionally rich story.
A Dream (Ancient Era) Within a Dream (Modern Era). At first, it feels like typical transmigration setup but it’s way more clever than that. The drama dives into meta-narrative territory in such a refreshing and unexpected way. The moment I heard that female voiceover instead of the second male screenwriter, it hit me. It subtly hinted that the second screenwriter wasn’t a real person in the modern world, but actually just a fictional character written into the script too just like the first screenwriter. Which means… the entire Qingning Dream arc? Yep, all part of the screenplay. Not a separate storyline, but a dream within a dream literally. That also makes SXY and NF fictional characters created within the script. The way the story folds into itself is genius. simple on the surface, but the deeper you think about it, the more impressive it becomes. I love how fresh this concept feels and the way they pull it off this well, absolutely nailed it. Correct me if I'm wrong, please!
And don’t even get me started on the cast. Every single actor was perfectly chosen. LYT, LYN, WYS, and ZXD all ate their roles like seriously, no crumbs left behind. I especially have to shout out LYT. The way she portrayed SYM in both Qingning Dream and ADWAD was incredible. The subtle differences in her tone, her aura, even the energy she carried in each version, it was masterful. She and Song Zu’er are honestly the best thing happening in idol fantasy dramas right now. I’m rooting for both of them to have long, and successful careers. And LYN, I’ll admit it that I wasn’t totally sold on him before this. But ADWAD changed that. His performance was so natural, so grounded. He brought real depth and charisma, and now I totally get the hype.
Visually, the drama was stunning too. The costumes are the best I’ve seen in a 2025 drama so far, every piece felt intentional and beautifully tailored to each character and scene. And let’s not forget the music and score. Every track felt perfectly placed, never overpowering, always adding something to the moment. Whether it was tension, softness, or emotional impact, the music elevated it. The sound design team truly did a phenomenal job.
I don’t usually call out production companies, but Linmon Pictures deserves a proper round of applause. You can feel the passion in their projects. It is not just about profit only its about storytelling, and it shows. I loved A Journey to Love, and now A Dream Within a Dream just confirms that this team knows exactly what they’re doing. I’m already looking forward to A Journey to Glow. If its anything like the last two, it’s going to be another hit.
I actually dropped LGIEF aeound the arc of ML s origin. I saw it was becoming quite boring, and the scenes were…
probably you overlooked the part where I said “IN MY LIST”, you see I'm not shoving it down to everyone throats as a best novel transmigration drama. It is definitely subjective and cater to everyone preferences, some might say TROTAR, SOKP, just to say the least. also, I'm not saying that this is a bad drama in anywhere rather I'm not happy with the direction of the story in the third act, but as I just finished episode 32 I see that it is getting back on the track just like the beginning. to each his own!
I'm just watching for the sake of completing it right now not for the entertainment it offers in the first half. probably this drama should have been 34-36 not this draggy 40 episodes to focus solely on the main trio, FL, ML, and SML. I just realized that SYM has only 3 scenes in episode 30 and her screen time drastically decreased in the ¾ of the drama. I'm not impressed by the way this drama progresses despite this strong start. it could've tied to LGIEF in my list for best drama in this genre, but it is too draggy and relied on countless misunderstandings.
Absolutely, I’ll never understand why LYT is so heinously slept on domestically/internationally. Just the sheer…
some are not destined to blow no matter how hard they try! She's definitely talented and too good for idol dramas. I can only think of her and Song Zu'er as idol drama leads that could act professionally!!! Comparing her to Bai Lu is absurd and baffling! She's in the game long before we platforms took over and that so-called actress that they're comparing!
I'm really sorry if I spoilt it for you or anyone who's not through! I've already put on spoiler alert now.

No doubt, I'll definitely miss this drama!
