I tried really hard not to spoil the ending of the show for myself but I couldn’t help but read through so many of y’all‘s comments xD oh well I couldn’t help myself. Sounds like there’s definitely some things that went right and went wrong. I’ll have to wait and see myself once everything gets subbed!

So just to clarify we go the entire show without Changge and Sun sharing a single kiss? (Waiting for subs before I get to the end)

I've already seen it! That's part of why I think the dubbing is so bad with this show because the FL lead's voice was much better suited in Under the Power than the deeper more mature voice they gave her in this show.

No at least by ep 6 you get the feeling he doesn’t really even love any of them. But tries to respects them. He gets an additional concubine and tells her he’ll provide her living I but no intimacy. But he also has two kids with two different women before all this and before he even starts a relationship with the FL

I’m straight up struggling to even get through ep 6. It’s very boring to me with literally nothing but plotting happening. And like many others I’m NOT a fan of the multiple wives/concubines. Yes, yes I know that’s typical of the times but that doesn’t mean I’m ok with it or want to see it, no matter how dedicated ML might end up being for FL. I certainly don’t watch C dramas for historical accuracy lol (if I had known that was part of the plot I would never have started watching). I did give it an honest try though since I didn’t know, hoping the plot or the characters would at least be enthralling but after 6 episodes I’m just bored. And the dubbing work is awful. So I’m dropping this show now.

Started off really cool, great CGI, plot, LOVE the music finally not the typical melodramatic music these shows typically have. But then...lead actress only has ONE facial expression and ML is constantly leaving her behind even after he says she the most important and he’ll always be by her side like...dude you’ve left her like 5 times already. Zero chemistry btw them and then to get that ending??? What a waste of time.

I really really wanted to like this show, it’s gorgeous and so different I feel than most but...I just couldn’t. :(
