Keep going. 5 episodes for a 50 episode series is like quitting after half of the 1st episode in a 16 episode…
Just curious if you’ve picked up the series since the last post… I’m not over them. And the novel! I just finished all 5 (I’m a fast reader). New depth to the long, lingering looks they give each other 🤭

I don’t think I’ll ever get over how it was for Cao Weining and Gu Xiang. Nope. That’s really the only time I shed any tears because WHY?! And was that really, TRULY necessary?

But having finally watched this series I’d been putting off for no good reason, I’m glad I did. It was well executed. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Now, after a day or so to recover, I’ll need to fill it with another highly recommended Chinese BL I’ve put off (I also finished The Untamed last week).

I think Jun not wanting their relationship out there has more to do with their positions at work and less about…
I believe you are correct. The “out” was already there. It’s the senior/junior dating that he was concerned about. But I bet the office will care about as much as they cared about his older “brother” CEO’s son dating a junior. That is, not at all.

OMG! I just finished the series finally and reading this comment is like you gave me a green light to let me addict flag fly. RIP to my remaining free hours for the foreseeable future.

I am currently watching it for the first time and I am on ep 05 it is not engaging me enough. Should I continue…
Keep going. 5 episodes for a 50 episode series is like quitting after half of the 1st episode in a 16 episode series. It picks up quite a bit. It started slow for me too, but before I knew it, I was watching episode after episode like a crack addict. I love Wei Ying and Zhan’s portrayal of him. He seems simple on the outside, but is quite complex and insanely loyal. I love him. Addicted, truly.

I finally did it. It’s been on my list FOREVER, but I did it. So good, as everyone says.

The entire series, I kept saying this. Zhan is a ridiculously handsome man- I feel struck dumb whenever the man smiles. Like seriously. And he smiles A LOT in The Untamed. Add in a playful, teasing demeanor and I’m a goner. RIP to me. Yibo- I understand you.

Now it’s time to read the novel for all the stuff that was censored/changed.

I was going to watch this, but even the reels are underwhelming… I was all in because of the cast lineup. Hyung Sik and In Guk? I was so in. Instead, it seems like the producers just hoped a weak plot line/execution would go under the radar if they had a star studded cast full of A-listers. Disappointing.

Yes he does. A bit. He’s been lying for years. Instead, he will continue to lie and soon will even make a choice…
To each their own. I think Gao Tu is a bit of a coward. His parents, especially his mom, are largely to blame. But their relationship is more than employer/employee under the surface. Thinking otherwise is like we haven’t been watching the same series. I don’t really feel sympathy for either of them to be honest. I just think it’s wrong to bash him and treat Gao Tu as some victim when his lies are his own choices. He could have at least denied an omega partner at literally any stage. It puts him in a difficult position to do so because he’ll have to come up with a reasonable excuse for his suspicious behavior.

poor gao tu he's my favorite he doesn't deserve all these
Yes he does. A bit. He’s been lying for years. Instead, he will continue to lie and soon will even make a choice I would struggle to forgive if I were Wen Lang.

Wen Lang is operating based on the lies Gao Tu has lived and breathed since they’ve known each other. He did a lot of this to himself. Wen Lang doesn’t really have a reason to think Gao Tu isn’t being honest about everything because he trusts Gao Tu. Shoukd he control his anti-omega speeches? Yes. But he has a reason to dislike them. And he thinks one tricked him- not knowing it was the object of his crush - because his crush has been lying about his secondary gender from D1. He supports the false narrative of an omega partner to the end. Wen Lang is jealous of that phantom omega. If Gao Tu had been honest, none of what he experienced would have happened. I struggle to feel sympathy for Gao Tu.

Gao Tu has a lot to lose, but you are right that his emotions are clouding his judgement. He is afraid that Wen…
As I said, the chances of that happening are slim due to the laws. Wen Lang follows the laws of their country, too (except for omega-bashing- words with no substance). Gao Tu knows this. If his judgement wasn’t so clouded by self-loathing and shame, he would have noticed the things Wen Lang has done for him out of love over the years. Hua Yong did point out that Wen Lang’s crush in Gao Tu was obvious. But if you hate yourself, of course you won’t see how the person you like reciprocates your feelings. Imagine how much pain and suffering he would have avoided if he had just come clean- at any point…

I struggle to feel sympathy for Gao Tu. His fear is irrational- based on his parents’ views of omegas and Wen Lang’s hate of them (for a very good reason, as we will discover soon). However, his hate doesn’t extend to Gao Tu once it’s revealed that he is an omega. He’s the exception to everything.

At this point, Wen Lang does not know Gao Tu’s father. He meets him later, after he resigns and disappears with his little sister.

In the novel, he’s not afraid of any of the things that you mentioned. The only thing he is concerned about is that Wen Lang will make him get an abortion. Since they are following the novel closely, this remains his concern in the series, I imagine.

Oh he most definitely can and will. He’s been altered by exposure to Hua Yong’s enigma pheromones. His physiology was altered over time.
