So true, yet the idiom remains. He definitely gives that vibe. While our Chi Cheng also gives snake vibes (to me- his mannerisms are similar), it’s 1000% more seductive. Wang Shuo just gives sinister plotter.

Im confused at his motives with Wang Shuo, but since he’s so cunning, I know his ultimate plan will be for Chi Cheng’s benefit and permanently sever the bonds between Wang Shuo and Chi Cheng. He’s a good friend. I haven’t gotten o this part of the novel yet, having just finished the whole thing with Meng Tao, so I’m going to be reading like a crazy person following this episode release.
In the novel, he’s just as despicable and did arrange it to look like XiaoShuai was gangraped. But First ChengYu seriously injured him when he discovers him at the clinic purposefully provoking our doctor and trying to get back with him after confessing the details. After, Wu gets ahold of him accidentally, but quickly figures out who he is and tortures him in his business warehouse underground room. Chi is suspicious of a secret lover and finds the guy, torturing him almost to death, which Wu witnesses, scaring him to death. He runs to his master for comfort and they fall asleep mutually comforted by each other. Chi then hands Meng Tao over to ChenGyu to deal with and gathers up his exhausted Wu, brings him home, and sexually punishes him for peeing in a bottle while his back was turned on Meng Tao while Wu was forturing him- he couldn’t stand that Wu had exposed himself in front of Meng Tao. Also because of catching him sleeping peacefully next to his gay master while he’d need struggling to hold himself back from Wu because Wu came back (from torturing Meng Tao) every night for a week tired and he didn’t want to add to his exhaustion.
There’s a lot to it, but that’s the gist. I’m only at chapter 149, which is right after the events with Meng Tao.
Well that Meng Tao was definitely handled differently than in the novel. Different person and different level of violence.
I’m not sure how to feel about this trio’s reunion. I’m ending this week more confused than at the beginning. Wht is he posting the picture with the ex? What’s his end-game? The snake farm convo had me stumped, like what is the goal? What is Wang Shou’s purpose to return if he already admits he can’t get Chi Cheng back (which is what I’m assuming he meant)? Who is provoking who? I haven’t gotten to this part in the novel yet.
Looks like I have some serious reading to do to help fill th missing pieces because waiting for Monday may kill me.
On another point, the moments with Wu and Chi were crazy sweet. Chi is still down bad for his DaBao, that’s clear. And ChenGyu is still very much enthralled by our XiaoShuai. These sweet moments have me smiling. Which is why I felt some whiplash with the exes.
I hope it’s not like the remake of LITA. I love almost all Japanese BLs but that one was a rare low rating for me. I am interested in how their interpretation of the script will be.

Absolutely. I’m hopeful that one day we will get Jeff’s produced series Happy Ending and Khemjira (I’m hoping it won’t be cringey like Your Sky). Oh! And maybe one day Revamp. I have hopes and dreams.

Their dating phase is my happy place. I’m loving literally everything about this era. Just like the pursuit phase. And our XiaoShuai and ChengYu- ChengYu is so sweet with him. He’s gonna go apeshit when he finds out about MengTao and I can’t wait for how they all (hopefully) deal with him when they find out (at least, in the novel, they do). Their dating era will be hella sweet too 🥰 Damn but I love this series.

And this is how China takes over the BL industry with RL (literally breaks GagaOOLala every time an episode releases) and ABO Desire. 🤭But I still have a section of my heart reserved for my first BL, which was a Thai BL- my gateway BLs were LITA, Not Me, and KinnPorche, so there’s some truth to the gateway. And they did manage to make some diamonds IMO with Reset, ThamePo, and Stand-In. Even though they’re not for me, people really have enjoyed The Bangkok Boys and TopForm too. So I keep watching because you never know when the diamonds will show up. 😊
