Love it!

I'll say this once and I hope this review clears your mind. This drama is not a serious historical drama and it's pretty much clear why starting from the title. I feel like people see the tag historical and expect a super story plot cdrama with a serious meaning and deep plot and have high expectations. If you actually watch cdramas you would know there is a genre for everything, historical dramas with a deep plot and then their are this historical dramas that have no sense but they are enjoyable because they are for a good time. My sassy princess CLEARLY is not one serious heavy deep plot cdrama. So people that rate this 3 or even less don't get it. If I'm watching who rules the world I have different expectations than watching My sassy princess. If you can't make a difference about what kind of public this drama is searching for then it's not for you. It doesn't mean the drama is bad.

Over all this drama is all I can ask, no slow burn, funny female lead, romantic and same level of teasing male lead. Funny story line where you're meant to have a good time. If you take this drama seriously of course you won't like it. But this drama is just for fun.

I hate the male lead

The story is pretty cliche, this has similarities to goodbye my princess instead the female lead actually lives in the past way more than she should, I get it he was a wolf but she keeps saying wolf boy like more than 10 times every episode and also calls him wolf boy more than she should, the male lead is highly annoying, manipulative, cruel and cold. He also by his own words says " he will do whatever he wants" as in how he tried to rape her as an excuse to make her hate him... And the worst part is that she apologized?! Like... After that ep I knew I wouldn't take this drama seriously. Also I once read how they hated the aluminum foil gowns they keep dressing the male lead and after that I couldn't see it either way ? the female is highly clingy and I would accept it if the male lead was good to her but he isn't he is cold most of the time with her and he does have his reason but he repeatedly goes after her over and over and then rejects her and treat her badly.. Also the actress can't cry no matter how she tries all she does is the sound of crying but her eyes are always so dry so I can't feel the true emotion at all. Honestly I hate this drama and even now on episode 27 she knows the truth that he killed her family and she legit crying to him and their past ? idk it's hard for me to consider it a good cdrama till now.

I finished this drama and all I can say is I rather have a story of bao na and the general than the wolf and here is why.
Bao na even though spoiled she had a better back bone than female lead she Straigh up told the FL she would kill the wolf boy for her for being such an ass to her but then again FL refused
Bao na liked the general and she went for it like a queen and even became a soldier and honestly a princess pretending to be a soldier to simp on a general? That story for me is SOLD 10/10 would watch

Did my idea of the ml being an ass every changed? Nope it didn't, I found their love story quite boring and repetitive and the fact that the only wolf related scenes are the same ones which is episode 1 over and over again after that their are no wolf references, NOTHING. If you remove episode one it's just a normal historical drama and a girl calling a guy wolf repeatedly throughout the whole serie and that's it.

My favorite Mr Gu drama

So far this is my favorite Mr Gu drama there is. I did watch 3 out of the 4 Mr Gu dramas and one is dropped and the other one is on hold (Miss crow and mr lizard). This drama is very simple in terms of story line but both main leads acting is amazing. Shen Yue has improved so much on her acting since Meteor Garden and Jasper is very sweet and caring so the chemistry for me is amazing.

The female lead is very simple , there are no clumsy scenerios , no jealousy or acts likes shes dumb. Male lead makes his mistakes here and there but they dont become toxic behavior or too much to handle. Both of them make a good couple in the drama and I enjoy that alot. Plus in comparison to the korean version this drama wins by far. The lead is not abusive nor rude to the main lead which was a problem to me in the version. I think all sweet scenes between both leads gave an amazing warmth feeling and made me love them together in the drama.

Second lead couple
I love it , bodyguard/ chofer with love story with a rich not spoiled girl is amazing. The thing with all couples in this drama is that the issues they have are not dragged to 5 episodes but for atleast 1 or 2 which I love. I think the 3 couples in this drama acted well.

Probably the only issue I have is the second male lead which was annoying. I think his character or maybe his actions very unnecessary instead of him making some sort of tension he became very annoying and actually toxic. This drama is not real all scenerarios are pretty impossible but he is another level of crazy. Definetly no second lead syndrome

This drama is not out of this world but is a sweet short drama to watch just to get the feels of a good day.

Amazing drama, amazing acting

I mainly watched this for Bai Lu and finally i was able to enjoy a drama where Allen acts and i could see his true talent and understand why so many people hype him up. I watched this drama in less than two days for how amazing the story was developed , how shiyi character became the perfect balance of a strong , sensitive and smart female lead can be and even then showed some mistakes as young but grew once she had to mature . The way ML battle team was arranged I LOVED IT. Finally its not a group of 5 guys and one girl. Two amazing sisters ready to help ShiYi to grow and rely on. None of the girls doubted for their power or skills. Most important I felt like all of this was a Girls support girls and my favorite part was when Empress said she didnt envy shiyi but felt sorry for her because she didnt even see her as a threat but as a sister. This drama is amazing and as someone that hates sad endings this one is indeed unique and worth it. It will stay in my heart forever. Thank god we have a second season else i wouldn't be able to handle it

Amazing and original

I think it's been a while where there is such an original plot and isn't ruined by horrible tropes like dumb female lead or a possessive male lead and so on. This drama is original from the start to the end and I love it.
The female lead is very strong and smart. Her outfits in every scene are completely insane, the stylist in this drama really polished everything.
The love between both leads actually takes time to grow which is so nice to see. You can slowly see how their love is developed and specially how the female lead becomes more and more human. One thing that always happens in strong female lead dramas is when suddenly they find their true love they become dumb or make decisions that make no sense and that's why this drama makes it different for me. Si Teng is smart in every episode and even when her emotions are affected she makes the right choice. The male lead is very respectful and mature even when he wanted to be with siteng he respected her wishes and even gave her space. I love their relationship so much.

I want to give credit to Yan fu character. The actor is wonderful and acts amazing. I enjoyed his scenes so much and I'm happy their is no love triangle but instead a comedic relief if you could say, maybe. I loved his character it was very needed for such serious moments.

Even though this drama has two endings and I know some people don't like it that way. I love it that it has two endings. As a happy ending person kind of drama I enjoyed both endings since both are happy in a way.

I'm really thankful for the wonderful story, form being original and following a different path that wasn't entangled with romance or plots holes. Everything in this drama makes sense also the details in the scenes are so good. Never looks like bad cgi everything has a good detail.

Amazing and original story

I thought this would be like boys over flowers remake but fiction version but BOY WAS I WRONG hahaha this story is amazing. All the boys are sweet, no love triangles happening and female cast is the smartest of all the 4 guys haha. I enjoy Kele character alot she's smart and takes her chances when she can. If you watch this drama expecting realistic scenes you might not like it. But fiction side and sweet many sweet scenes then you'll love it. The story is full of plot twists and it keeps you on edge. It also has a realistic side on the guys being trapped. I think this drama has or can be compared to dark situations that happen in real life and it does address them in a light way. It's such a good drama and out of the box definetly. I'm so happy I gave this drama a chance I hope this cast gets their own drama and shine in their wonderful acting

One of the best 2021 dramas so far

Two perfect female leads, I love how they balanced it out with one strong female lead and then other sweet and innocent but both had to live hard life's differently which caused both two grow and mature. They never rival each other which I loved it's weird to have two female leads that don't want to cut their each other throats.

I wanted to be a main couple shipper but when I fell you I saw the first episode with leyan and hao du as a cold soldier I was SOLD. I just couldn't concentrate anymore and wanted their scenes so so much more. Is it a bit clique with the sweet princess and a cold soldier? Yes but when a drama is done well clique scenes are done so perfect that you don't mind and you see growth on their characters which I love so much.

The story of this drama is amazing, it makes me want to rewatch it all over again as a binge because it's so different and well done. I'm a fantasy history kind of girl but this drama made me love historical dramas so so much. Thankful that is a happy ending even though we see some characters die for unfortunate events it does add the idea that sometimes in life we had to see people go especially around the time the drama is based which is tang dynasty.

I hope anyone that's reading this gives this drama a chance. Definetly one of 2021 favorite dramas

Best drama for me

I tried to leave this drama behind for so much but suddenly decided to watch it and so far it's my favorite. It's so much better atleast in my opinion than eternal love and ashes of love. The acting, the story and the romance was chef kiss for me everything was perfect. Like most cdrama usually the girl is highly manipulated but since I've tried my best to see who the actual bad guy in here is not the female lead but hao Chen ? which HE IS THE MAJOR FAULT OF All if you watch the series to an end you'll see why he screwed everything up. The romance between the leads is amazing it can't even compare every single problem that happens between the leads is solved so quickly between minutes apart or in the next episode and this happens like in the first 30 episodes until you reach the point where the female lead is highly manipulated and yes incase you wonder this is a happy ending ❤️ love and redemption made me cry of sadness, happiness and the mostly how sad it made me feel once I finished it cause I loved it so so much.

Its started great and at the end I dont want to watch this ever again

I decided to enter this show blindly from season 3. Main reason Yibo (Im not a fan but Im curious) and Jackson Wang I could say Im partly a fan and surprisingly he didnt become my favorite in this show. My main stars in this drama are the dancers and like I said I had no ideas how this show made its rules and who would win. I thought it was a win on teams and not one person which for me is where everything crumbles down(Ill explain why later) lets starts with the pros:

Two judges that standed out for me was Wallace and Lay. Both made a family with their team and their team respected them unfortunetly for me most of my favorite dancers belong in those teams and this two teams really crumbled.

The dancers for me robbed my heart from their respect to the judges , to the love of their dancing , the explanation to their dance performance and their tears of joy ,sadness and loss is what made me cry every episode. I find it dissapointing that people only compliment the judges but for me the true stars in this shows are the dancers I have a more clear image of my favorites than any judge.

the choreos , the different styles of dancing the performances and mainly how original and how the crew helps the teams when they need light , effects , props and more to make the perfect dance and thats why the excesive ads where not annoying to me because this show is clearly EXPENSIVE.

CONS:

Wallace is weird sometimes specially when female judge guests appeared, his image for me kind of changed after that and hes no kid he is in his 30-40s he should know what to say.

Yi bo lack of connection to his team is what made me not bother to watch last two episodes once I found out his team won I just fast foward to confirm . Why? I blame editing, lack of connection with team , lack of editing for his team , lack of stories , lack of sense of we are a family but more like youre my chess pieces and Im the one moving them to win. I couldnt connect with him or his team. Not even one dancer of that team. Actually the only dancer I liked was the married guy and thats because he was the only one that had a story in the beginning but then he just stopped appearing less and less that I forgot about him also Chick but thats because he was amazing and very fun and even he stopped appearing less and less.

Lack of female dancers
Every single time their was an elimination female dancers where the choice to eliminate and what bothered me the most was the mindset of a bunch of guys and only one girl and to me that felt like a "Stand there and look pretty" why not more female dancers? why a female prop instead of being multiple woman leading a team? Wang Yi bo only one girl , Jackson one girl , Wallace only one girl , Lay had three girls and eliminate one and then in the last round eliminated the last two with a all male group in the last episodes. In the semi final ONLY TWO GIRLS in both in different teams. TWO GIRLS. Both of them eliminated before the final but battle elimination. Specially more dissaponting to see is not all girls did difficult dances. why not?
I would love to see that.Only KK could stay and that means only ONE girl out of all those guys in finals.

Voting system is VERY FLAWED
who thought that putting normal public was a good idea? Wang Yi bo dances in the team? He won, Jackson wang dances, He won, Lay dances? He won. See where Im getting and you woudl think it would be a close win NOPE. Jackson team vs Lay (Jackson dance) 72 votes over 10 votes then Lay dance with his team and Jackson didnt 72 votes over 10 votes Lay won.Dont get me started when Yi Bo dances. The voting system was awful of course its filled with fans. Fans would vote for his bias regardless if he was bad or good in the dance floor. Who pays the prices? THE DANCERS because they get eliminiated. HORRIBLE. I understand having famouse people as judges brings views and I dont blame the judges I blame whoever thought of the voting system.

The last episode and why is it one winner?

What bothers me with this is , they bring different styles to the competition , contemporary , jazz , hip hop , urban all of them very very different and bring themm all to one group. RIGHT THERE the idea is amazing to me once I found out the end of this serie is a battle 1 vs 1 . Everything died for me. Why? Let make an example of Ballet does a completition and invites all different kind of dance styles but the theme is ballet no matter what. who will win 1 VS 1 ? ballet. Contemporary dancers dont stand a chance in this competition , not jazz or any different kind of style that didnt outstand the main styel of the competition. So why add them? again as props. They use this dancers as props to the main dancers that do make battle win. Thats horrible. Nobody in that show goes to lose , they go to win and I do think the one dancer that understand how this show was done was Gai Gai in episode 9 she just knew she was never going to win. why? the show wouldnt win with a contemporary dancer and even learning new styles she is indeed far back than those that did the main dance the show wants to win in. If this show was a group win I would understand why they mix so many styles because it makes a bunch of people learn more , work team and to learm and build a perfect team. Not use other different dancers to make the main theme stand out and win. Lets make the hexample of episode 11 Su Lian Ya is an amazing dancer and everybody knew this , she would stand out in group battles and always played her part once her time to battle came. she wouldve never won. why? her style is differen and thats why she was so embarrased in the end. Thats why in episode 10 Wallace eliminated the choreogapher, he didnt need him anymore. The groups would be divided and he clearly wasnt the strongest dancer. wallace used him and discarded him. This are people , all of them once eliminated felt sad , depressed and mostly cried of course. Even one guy left his baby to be in the competition but at the end they make a battle on styles that are too different , some of them will never stand a chance. Playing with their feeling breaks my heart specially when you see them on screen and how passionate they talk of what they love , the stories they bring to the dance floor on how they feel. Breaks my heart. The dancers for me made this show amazing and only for them .

toxic relationship and also unrealistic friend forgiveness

Lets start with the fact that the female lead lost her dream not only because the male lead screwed her over but her friend as well backstabbed her in the back and somehow all is forgiven because ¨she felt lonely and missed her friends¨ . Maybe Im a petty ass but would I forgive someone that betrayed me in order for them to rise ? No. i find it absurd that both friends forgave her so easily and just laughed it off and worst part this friend was so ungrateful that she wanted to split the main couple because she like Han Che like..? This is why you shouldnt forgive and forget people that betray you.

I couldnt like the couple and mostyl due to the male lead

I watched Le coup before watching this drama and if you watched it or read the synopsis you would know the male lead is cold and has a different way of expressing himself. So when I saw this ml being "cold" I couldnt match or see the coldness in him. He is just a toxic guy. Every single time the FL doesnt want to do what he asks for he DRAGS HER and forces her to do so and you notice this because she tries to get his hold on her off and idk I dont see it sweet or like awww , in real like I would punch him and tell him to not touch me. Mostly all the kisses they have are so hard and forced because he doesnt kiss her in a romantic way but more as "Ill kiss you because I want to" (not always but most kisses are like this). He gets very jealous when she is with another guy and not only does he feel jealous but he treats the FL very rudely or says things to hurt her which again is very much toxic. I dont ship them at all , I actually at some point shipped her more with her senior because he was mostly more caring and sweet and both personalities match better than the Ml.
(There is another comment that explains this too so read it cause indeed this is a very much toxic love and the Ml is just bad )

I wouldnt rewatch this , I enjoyed the FL journey in her career but thats it. Thats all I liked her trying to find her way because ML literarly screws her over and he also lies to her about him being the "king" and then *add pikachu surprised face* he is surprised she is mad because HE THOUGHT she was over it. I swear the more Im writing this the more I dislike it.

This drama is just romance and an invented game badly done

I tried to give this drama a chance but somehow I felt like this drama was made more for money than actual interest in acting, gaming and the plot in general.

The representation of the game is badly done, the game is suppose to be LOL kind which im familiar and the way they reprersent the game is pressing a bunch of keys which 1 its impossible cooldown and mana exist so no you dont type randomly and sorry people try and excuse the bad represention of them game by saying " its for entertainment" if they cant even represent something as easy as how are keys are meant to be pressed in a GAME then what a shit quality. Also they never explain what the game is about so this is why many people that rate this drama just ignored the gaming side and just love the romance. If you watch this drama for the actual esport which this is the main theme, you wont like this drama.

FL & ML acting

FL is bad a actress and then again people excuse it saying shes a newcomer actress. why is a newcomer actress playing lead role? her whole character , face and expressions are stiff , emotionless and has a meh face 24/7 . ALL THE DRAMA. I just couldnt like her character as much ,she was just boring. she would just make a gesture and then bam back to meh face again and again. I understand if IDOLS want to become actors but of course its dissapointing when they get lead roles and dont play a part properly just shows how the drama itself its just about money instead of finding the right person to fit and play the character perfectly. Xu Kai acting is good if watched him since The Legends and Arsenal Academy and he is a good actor and I know his character is meant to be a cold guy but I couldnt buy it. His cold guy version is just another meh face 24/7 the only thing that saved this two where the cute tropes and love scenes. Atleast for me the perfect representation of a cold guy is Le coup de foudre male lead. he is cold and acts perfectly as cold guy but sweet in the inside but Xu Kai just seemed bored and his corean speaking is bad and I blame the director for not even bothering on telling actors to atleast know the basics instead of just doing a voice over while Xu Kai is babbling nonsense and IT SHOWS.

Romance
atleast for me the romance between them was very random. She just enters the team and somehow bam xu kai likes her no scenes , explanation no reason? no friends first. nope he just randomly likes her and what creeps me a bit is his comparisons to the female lead to a child. why?idk unnecesarry? YES. Their romance scenes are pretty basic, hims grabbing her asleep , she trips and he grabs her, accident kisses all the basics combined.

I believe what made the drama watchable atlead for me is all the side characters, the second couple , the friends , the team . the funny scenes I loved everything but the main couple. The gaming scenes did not make me wow I have to play LOL. Also from the start I knew the bad news of the drama being a copy of a another copied book and also stolen stories from other players and they didnt gave permission to be used so I wasnt as excited from a start.

Like I said Gank your heart is the best gaming and romance drama and The Kings avatar is more esport oriented and well done gaming drama but this drama is just romance and an invented game badly done and to represent a game is so easy by knowing the basics and show how it should be used shows the lack of interest the director had on representing gamers and clearly shows why LOL was not originally shown in the game. The director knows nothing of games.

Best skating drama so far

I really don't understand why the drama has 8.1, atleast for me this drama should score higher by far the most entertaining skating drama there is. Skate into love is super long I still loved it but it was too long and My unicorn girl was just a big meh. I finish both dramas but none got loved as much as To fly with you did. I love both stories of the leads, the male character is very decent with the female lead and I just loved how the drama didn't give more troubles to their relationship once they get together. I know the drama could've given more " skating" scenes but you do know the actors are not the real ones so my guess is they is so much the production can do to make it seem they are indeed skating. For me this is the best skating drama and I wish it was longer, the last episode went by so fast.

Original story and all original characters

I'm a huge fan of fantasy stories and even more when it's about competition between academies. I find the story refreshing and all characters different but amazing in their own way. All done perfectly to suit the group into a perfect combination of strong underdogs all learning in different experiences. Even with the lack of romantic interaction this drama can make you feel the love between the 4 couples that form in this drama and how the 4 of them are different. Specially for me my favorite cp is the second male lead but my favorite character is Xiao Wu.

Xiao Wu is the perfect definition that you can be cute, strong and specially also love to fight. I've seen ppl mention her as annoying but I think they relate it to her cuteness and regarding her weak for that matter when in fact Xiao Wu is one of the smartest in the group and rarely acts scared but wants to take a challenge. I love this female lead, specially cause she's very loyal. For that matter I enjoy the family between the female leads as well. All of them have a bonding and not even one episode did it make them fight for their differences. All are strong female leads and all of them have different personalities.

Tang Sa story and mainly the main point of the story is like a video which I find enjoyable. I love games with this base of a story so watching this felt so good and so well done. I will admit the cgi was not the best in terms of the best but fighting scenes are a 10/10 for me. I highly recommend this drama, it lacks romantic scenes, yes but the story as a whole. The meaning of a family, friendship and loyalty is so well done that romance scenes feel like a bonus. I didn't have to skip an episode cause of them was a different and new story and rarely things get dragged

Cute and funny drama

I enjoyed this drama alot, the story was not complicated, each character had its own story and growth at its right step it wasn't so rushed.
I enjoyed the male lead acting alot he expresses himself really well and you can see the love for the FL very much. I enjoyed this drama so much I highly recommend.
I enjoyed the story of FL and her mother and it shows how much it affected her and how fang fang was always there for her at her side. You also see that FL is very insecure and has her wrong doings but she overcomes this and helps fang fang do what he loves. Every problem that happened was solved in the same episode and that is something I will always love of dramas that are made this way.

Mostly everything is achieved by lies

The story was sweet at the beginning I believe it had potential but when you add up almost every achievement the female lead has done is mostly by lying. She lied to her best friend about living in his house because somehow is more embarrassing to ask for a friend for help than fool him into believing he hired a cleaning lady and live in his house without him knowing at all... Then she gets her job by lying but I guess that's the only way she was ever going to get a job. Also the fact that somehow they tried to put this " a single mom can achieve this" but her daughter appears like 1.5% of the drama and all through video calls? Never visits hers or actually gets to struggle the work life and mom life together so its very unrealistic and does not show the actual struggle cause her daughter is just gone in a high porcentaje of the drama. The romance at least for me felt kind of forced I couldn't match both leads together and ship them as a couple. I enjoyed more the side stories than the actual main story.
