Chinese remake of Vagabond, or something like Arsenal Military Academy. What I'm talking is dynamic between characters. I wouldn't mind both of them in a really gritty equivalent to Navy Seal's type of drama, where their lives are constantly at risk. These kind of dramas can get either very smutty, or between the lines, just like TLB and the Untamed.
I feel the BTS we've not had, and that I now lose sleep over, are those between She'er and Chang Ge, as the actor said that Raba would explain, in their language - Uyghur, if he didn't understand something properly. I want to bare witness!

From how I understood it, when A'sun, as Zhun the merchant, tells Chang Ge, that; 'some people are like water, they can bend with anything, some people are like fire, and staying next to them will burn you too' Khan once told him this, about She'er, to warn him to stay away from him, and A'sun said 'I lost my best friend, right then and there'.
Khan was so distrustful of the two boys being close, as it could lead to any manner of them overthrowing him, and the boys being in constant battle served Khan and the Khaganate more. Growing up, yes, it did make the Khaganate stronger, but because he couldn't trust Sun, it was also easily overthrown, from the inside.

I'd say, Goodbye My Princess has the most toxic ML. The Most toxic relationship, and the saddest story of terrible choices, until the very end. It is still an absolutely incredible watch.
The Long Ballad is it's absolute opposite, TLB is it's cure.
Even though it's been a long time since GMP aired, I feel it really broke areas inside of me that still held hope. GMP really SHUTS YOU DOWN. It strips you of hope, which should be the last thing to ever leave a person.
The fact that MOST dramas are just a dime a dozen, they ad nothing new to the repertoire of dramaland, they're repetitive and strung together drama tropes that only serve to DISCONNECT you even more from your own heart, and from HOPE.
Then a rare gem comes along, in Chinese dramaland - let's remember, there are no GOOD MEN, leading men. They're all bad tropes, they push and pull you, across the screen, and you heart cannot connect.
But this woman drew this GOOD MAN, Ashile Sun, and she used the very depth of her knowledge pertaining to; WHAT MAKES A GOOD MAN? WHAT DOES A GOOD MAN BRING TO THE TABLE? and by what means do we recognize a good man?
They say the devil is in the details, but so is the beauty. Ashile Sun is a man who lives in the details. A man of great character and conviction.

Like when they pinkie swear, in ep 31 or 32, she says 'the one who goes back on their word, is a small dog' a proper Chinese insult. Some charming fool translated it as 'liar liar, pants on fire', an unsuitable Western saying. I don't even know what he said in Chinese, in this case, but we got the silly Western equivalent, which doesn't suit.
by the look of Asun, the third item is he want a baby.. ha..ha..
That's why no kissing works, because he respects her. There is too much respect almost. He wants her to be on the same page as him, always. He's quite obviously waiting for her to be ready for physical affections. But he still obviously wants her, and he isn't beyond hinting at it now. She's clearly barely even ready to talk marriage. Leyan on the other hand, is forced to have a marriage. Chang Ge no longer has to conform to any rules.
