The king goes and impregnates Do Hwa and adamantly states that the child born will be considered as the king's son because it was his soul that did the deed. He also says that the child's birth will fulfill the prophecy of a star which essentially signifies the birth of royalty. That prophecy is also fulfilled on the day Jang Wook is born. Hence he is technically supposed to be the current king which is why everyone who is aware is trying to keep this super hush.
The whole thing about the affair stems from Jang Kang and his refusal to accept Wook as his son. He's the only one who knew about what the king did yet he chose to announce it to others and just reject the kid as a whole. You can have a whole debate on the morals of his action and who's the real daddy here but that's what the story is so far xD

Guess ignorance truly is bliss because I immensely enjoyed every minute of this having not seen the original.

This was so good for the first 3-4 episodes and then they just made it the absolute worst thing ever. Dropped at episode 10. There is literally nothing left for them to extend into the next episodes.

I feel sad because Jes and Gybzy had hella good chemistry. Oh well :(

The ML here is the most useless ML I've probably ever seen. It's refreshing in a twisted way, where people complain about female characters being useless.

This is not a movie about romance, yes, romance is a component but it is so much more than that. It's about two lonely souls finding companionship across different eras entirely through an old walkie talkie set.

And if you're realllyyy curious, then Bae In Hyuk and Kim Hye Yoon's characters should end up together.

If this casting information is accurate, and the film follows the same storyline as the original, they will end up together

Okay so from what vibe I'm getting here,
Yeo Jin Goo will be Kim Haneul's character
Jo Yi Hyun will be Yoo Ji Tae's character

And then the rest will align themselves accordingly, just gender swapped to their characters.
