This drama was announced since 2021? Wondering why there are so many pending kdramas for release. In 2010s, i…
Drama production so different now in 2020s than in 2010s, now they prefer to preproduce the drama s.
However I think they went TOO far into the preprodction route, it takes too long until dramas are released now, which takes away alot of the anticipation....
You like melodramas right? Are you liking this one?
Yes of course, PDnim + cast too in that melo! π
Hopefully I'll end up shipping them just as much as the Will Love In Spring couple, before I watched WLIS I wtached MidnughtRom In Hawon trailers was excited.
Then after finishing WLIS wtached again Midnight Rom in Hagwon trailers, was less excited. π π€¦ββοΈ That WLIS pairing has my soul to the point hard to enjoy other pairings right now Lol, one of those shows&ships that makes others look like trash π So hopefully MRiH has a great ship writing too .... Hopefully full excitement back and TMRiH pair will be just as epic!

Not sure yet, first 2 eps where kind of boring, yet not boring enough to drop, I'll continue the drama once I have more time (super busy with university, just casually wtaching a few dramas that are engaging enough but not amazing, as study breaks/energy boosters), so can't tell yet, usually first 2 eps still boring in most dramas anyway π
I really love romance stories with a dash of mystery. That's really combining my top 2 genres. Hence this drama…
Yeah I also really like when romance gets combined with mystery genre. π They mesh well. Healer, Vincenzo, Happiness....some of the best. Hopefully this will be too....
I like how they picked more unusual last names here, Bok and Do, and not the highly common surnames of Lee, Park, Kim, Choi, Song that like 90% of koreans have... π
Same here. The endless discourse about life, death ,and fate got unbearable for me on the 18th ep and beyond
I partly agree with you. LATER ON, AFTER she just suddenly abandoned him (π€¦ββοΈ), it was good that SHE was the one who in the end made the compromise.
But what I'm talking about when I speak of his stubborness is more about his behavioirs at start and middle of drama, during this ONLY FL got hates by viewers for "wanting to run away to the city, Being uncommital flakey etc.", when they BOTH we're uncommital and stubbornπ π€¦ββοΈ Just because one is physically wanting to leave, and the other's uncommitment means STAYING STILL where they already are, didn't mean that BOTH weren't running away, they were. And ONLY the woman got heat for that, that's misogyny and expectations that ONLY the Woman needs to make the sacrifice.
In the end they ended it well with FL staying in their hometown after abandoning him, I do think in this case she needed to be the one compromising, to prove that she had changed.
My issue is the assumption many seem to have about women being the ones who needs to sacrifice their careers and lifestyles, now THAT is problematic and needs to be called out. Generally BOTH parties should make compromises.

Overall the drama did a really good job writing a realistic take on people's lack of commitment at the start of a relationship, there are too many unrealistic cringe romcoms about insta-love and insta-commitment and "drop all for love", that's not true to life at all. Also it was good that they didn't make FL abandon her career for marriage, especially when because of her disability she had ambitions to prove herself, they did well in writing an ending of her keeping her career while compromising at the same time.
No, he doesn't 'deserve' better. Nobody 'deserves' anything in love. Love is not a gold medal for best behavior.…
Lol we are strangers which explains why you misunderstood everything I've said.
I don't hate men, I only hate PROBLEMATIC men, and men and women who defend them. This site (& kdrama fandom overall) has quite an issue with women going "myyy oppaaaaaaa can do nooooo wroooooonggg!!".
Irl I get on better with men overall than women who are cringe gossips π , I grew up amongst brothers and work in male-dominant field.
Also you must be young, to be so naive over "rape cases Dropped", just because someone was not sentened in court doesn't mean they're "proven innocent", just google the statistics on how many rape cases go unreportted, fail to get a a conviction even when multiple women accuse a man. One famous example comes to mind: Ed Westwick. Judges will literary drop rape cases, not becaus ethe defendant is "innocent". One exampel article: https://www.uml.edu/News/stories/2019/Sexual_Assault_Research.aspx
Also it's even worse in korea, where the judicial system is corrupt and influenced by money and powerful families.
MDL is filled with people from all over the world, if my takes on equality and not accepting problemtic man behavioirs and internalized misogyny by girls on this site, seem extreme, perhaps this is a cultural crash, as I come from one of the most liberal/progressive cultures where this calling out of men is normal and not extreme at all.
On the other hand, there are too many young girls on this site defending their oppaaaaa...
Same here. The endless discourse about life, death ,and fate got unbearable for me on the 18th ep and beyond
Yeah I kind of agree with you there, what I mean is, they acted like Nanpin was the only place where he could ever work, as if death doesn't happen in every village/city/place in the world. π A successful skilled guy like this could've easily gotten another funeral makeup artist job anywhere, a job which most people are unwilling to do, so low competition..... It all made the ML look too stubborn about staying FOR NO REASON lol,
especially since he wasn't even shown to have any type of nostalgia emotional attachment to the hometown (other than to high school memories with FLπ) or any dislike of the city, just stubbornly staying out of loyalty for other people. Compare with his grandma who was shown to have an emotional attachment to the town itself. If there was no "mission", this ML would'n't have given one damn over hometown vs city lol.
But anyway, I AM STILL HAPPY it ended with FL choosing their hometown, ONLY BECAUSE I don't think her reputation with viewers could've taken ML being the one having to compromise lol.π People already hated on her enough, while forgetting ML's flaws.
Also I'm relieved they didn't write some dumb ending with FL totally giving up her career to get married with ML π She deserved to "prove herself" like she wanted as a Disabled woman with a harder life.
It's so unfair though how many viewers kept complaining over FL wishing to leave for the city, WHILE OVERLOOKING and NEVER ONCE Critizising ML for being to stubborn about staying in their hometown!!! π‘
Also aparantly this drama got some Tourism award so you're probably right about the propaganda part lol.
Allthough The novel it's based on ended same way with FL leaving without telling ML and afterward she was the one who compromised and moved to their hometown. Not sure if novel also is Propaganda, but likely they saw the novel ending as perfect for using as their propaganda on TV. π π (A translation of the novel's ending was posted here in the comments section before under a spoiler tag, this was during airing before anyone knew how the drama would end.)
After watching asian dramas for a whole decade never have I seen more realistic kisses (&cuddling)!
However I think they went TOO far into the preprodction route, it takes too long until dramas are released now, which takes away alot of the anticipation....
And these two can only ever have romance scenes during daytime, or he is romancing the ahjumma lol ??
I have questions π
Plus social issues of youth crime and social workers in plot.
Thoughtful social issue romcom, but also silly fun? π€ πSign me up!
Hopefully I'll end up shipping them just as much as the Will Love In Spring couple,

Just now was bored by both Long Vacation and Devilish Joy first 2-4 eps too, but now enjoying them both.π Might happen to this drama too...
Couldn't even enjoy the kiss scenes because they were still boring together.
How someone can kiss in such realistic sweet way and still lack chemistry wtf π€£
Oh well.
Also boring middle part.
Enjoyable eps 1-8. Ok eps 14-16
7.5-8.0/10.
It's a good one-time watch drama, but not really rewatching material.
1+ year of dating and he's still there.
At least they got some time to enjoy.
Where are our irl ghosts doing this irl too, We need this. ππ€£
